LGA News Here we go for another year! REMINDER: SAVE THE DATE! January 7 at 3:00pm - Head Golf Professional David Startzel will be conducting a review of the newly-updated rules of golf. The information will be well worth the time to attend and get everyone up to speed on the new changes. Solheim Cup pairings party held on December 3 and tournament held December 4 and 6 was very well attended. The scoring was tight after the first round with the Blue Belles at 12 points and Red Roses at 11 points. The second day results were quite different with total point scores for the Blue Belles 40 1/2 points and 23 1/2 points for the Red Roses. Special thanks to

Co-Chairs Debra Ketchum and Julie Thorson and their committee, and the wildly enthusiastic captains BB’s Sue Boden and RRs Dawna VanVeld. January hold a lot of excitement. First, the tee times will go on an alternating AM/PM schedule. The Match Play tournament begins on January 10 with subsequent matches on the 15, 17, 22 and final round on the 24 with a shot gun start at 8:30am. Sign up only if you can commit to all five days if (when) you successfully move to the next date. Lastly, the unsung volunteer rarely mentioned is our photographer, Carol Mayer. Thanks for being at all the “big” events and posting them for our enjoyment. MGA News The MGA has approximately 240 members with handicaps ranging from 3 to 28. The purpose of this organization is to promote interest, fellowship and participation in the game of golf among its members. Contact the golf shop for more information at (239) 985-1704.

2018-2019

Campaign Ryan was not focused on school. Most of the time was spent with gang members who convinced him they were his family. Turning to his friends on the street seemed like a natural option, until the day he lost his best friend, his older cousin, who was shot and killed. This was the first time Ryan lost someone who really meant something to him. A few days later, after his cousin was buried, Ryan turned to his friend David for support. David told Ryan he needed to go to the Boys and Girls Club wit him, and he would be safe there. Since his first day, Ryan flourished at the Boys and Girls Club,. He now lives with David because of an impossible home life. Ryan attends the Club three or more days a week when he isn’t working at his part time job. This year’s them is The Power of U! What does that mean? It means that YOU have the power to make a difference in the lives of our residents. It means that any contribution to the United Way, large or small, can positively affect our community. We invite you to go on the journey with us to see what a difference the United Way is making in our community. Questions about The Power of U! campaign, contact Residents Gary and Kathleen Brun (239) 768-9078 or email [email protected].
