Exhaust And F re Measure • Before start ng the mach ne n confined or poorly vent lated places, prov de for proper vent lat on or connect the eng ne exhaust p pe to a suct on duct. The eng ne exhaust gases can be deadly.

WARNING

• The exhaust gas are extremely hot. To avo d fire, do not expose dry gas, cut grass, o l or other combust ble mater als to the exhaust gas. Always keep the eng ne exhaust clean. • To avo d fire, be careful of ammable mater als leak ng from the hoses and fuel l nes. Follow the checkl st to check the fuel, hydraul c u d. Check for leaks n hoses. • Check that all power cables and w r ng are n good cond t on. Keep all electr cal sockets clean. • Do not forget that the work equ pment c rcu ts are always under pressure; for th s reason, when t s necessary to add or dra n hydraul c o l or to perform ma ntenance operat ons or nspect ons on the hydraul c c rcu t, t s adv sable to lower the equ pment to the ground and completely release the pressures and the res dual pressure present n the tank. • If you are h t by a jet of h gh-pressure o l or are njured, even f sl ghtly, mmed ately consult a doctor.

WARNING

• Dur ng the nspect ons and use a p ece of cardboard or a sheet of plywood to check for o l leakages. Use safety goggles or eye protectors dur ng the leak checks. • Leakages from p pes under pressure and the result ng jetsare extremely dangerous, s nce they can perforate the sk n andpenetrate n the blood c rculat on or njure the eyes.

WARNING

• Be careful of hot parts and u ds such as muffler, muffler cover, hoses, cool ng l qu ds and eng ne o l. Immed ately stop the mach ne to avo d burns that may occur dur ng mach ne operat on. • Do not open the rad ator cover mmed ately after start ng or stopp ng the eng ne. Otherw se, the hot water w ll rad ate from the rad ator. Wa t unt l the rad ator s cool enough to be touched before remov ng the l d. Use safety glasses.

WARNING

Battery •

When handl ng batter es, always wear safety goggles.

• Batter es produce hydrogen, wh ch s h ghly explos ve and can eas ly gn te w th small sparks or naked ames there s a r sk of explos on. • Do not use or charge the battery f the battery u d level s below the Lower mark. Otherw se battery may show premature wearout, reduc ng the serv ce l fe or caus ng explos on. Immed ately, add pure water unt l the level s between UPPER and LOWER (lower and upper l m t).

WARNING

• Keep sparks and open ames away from the battery, espec ally dur ng charg ng. • Avo d short-c rcu t ng the battery term nals through any contact, even f acc dental, w th metal objects or tools or by nvert ng them. Connect the batter es n parallel: pos t ve to pos t ve and negat ve to negat ve. Use a voltmeter or hydrometer. •

Fa lure to comply w th some s mple safety and prudence rules s the cause of most acc dents and njur es at work. In most cases, acc dents can be avo ded by foresee ng the poss ble causes and consequently act ng w th the necessary care and caut on. Every worker nuences, w th h s /her behav our, the r sks related to the act v ty to be carr ed out, therefore a careful and prudent worker s the best guarantee aga nst acc dents. Before us ng the mach ne, the operator and other workers must carefully read and understand the nstruct ons conta ned n the manual suppl ed and those d rectly appl ed to the mach ne. It s mportant to pay attent on to the mean ng of the symbols on the labels appl ed; the r shape and colour are very mportant for safety purposes. All labels must be leg ble and the nformat on they conta n must be respected. When the mach ne s n use, the operator and the people d rectly nvolved n the operat ons must wear acc dent prevent on equ pment; for th s purpose contact the safety manager. On no account must you tamper w th, el m nate or by-pass the safety dev ces as th s could ser ously put at r sk the health of people. Never start or use the mach ne n poorly vent lated areas. If necessary, adopt all necessary precaut ons to prevent bu ld-ups of mach ne exhaust gas.

The operator must know well the performance and we ght of the mach ne n relat on to the type of ground (at, compact, rough, slop ng) n order to always ma nta n a safe d stance when work ng near open excavat ons, slopes, verges and overhang ng rocks. Use the mach ne only f you are n good phys cal and mental cond t on. Check that the routs at the s te are su table and that the work areas are su table for the passage and stab l ty of the mach ne. Ask for the the expert operators’ ass stance for operat ons n t ght spaces and w th poor v s b l ty. In the case of operat ons near part cularly h gh mounds of land make sure that the excavat on walls are correctly buttressed to avo d landsl des caused by the v brat ons transferred from the mach ne to the ground. At the end of the sh ft or day do not park the mach ne ns de banks or waterways. Mark-o the work area w th appropr ate s gns and forb d access to anyone not nvolved n the operat ons. The operator must make sure sa d proh b t on s respected even by suspend ng work. Do not use the hammer to l ft people, pull or l ft loads. Do not use the mach ne dur ng storms. Make sure there are no bur ed p pel nes or cables wh ch could nterfere w th the p le dr v ng operat on (gas or water p pes, electr c cables).

Before carry ng out any ma ntenance or adjustment operat on lower the hammer to the ground, sw tch o the eng ne and remove the gn t on key. Serv c ng of hydraul c components must be carr ed out only w th the system depressur sed. To prevent tool breakage and damage to the core borer, do not change the rotation speed during core boring. 1) Move the lever (4) to lower the tool (D) near the surface to be drilled. 2) Place the column in a perfectly vertical position. - To manually position the column in vertical position use the levers (7) and (8). - Check the verticality using the level gauge (E). - To automatically place the column in vertical position see “Using the verticality system”. 3) Move levers (5) and (6) to slowly change the position of the tool. 4) Set lever (10) in position "10.Y" to switch on the hydraulic power to the accessory. 5) Open the turn valve (C) to cool the tool. 6 ) Use lever (F) to adjust the tool rotation speed. 7) Move the lever (G) to manually move the tool forward.

Start core boring with care as the centring of the tool depends on this stage.
