IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: 1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS. 2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs only. 3. To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquids. 4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. 5. In order to minimize the risk of property damage, never place the Coffee maker under cabinets. Make sure the area several feet above the Coffee maker is clear from all furniture or cabinetry. 6. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. 7. Do not open top cover while coffee is brewing. Scalding may occur if the cover is lifted or removed during the brewing cycle. 8. Prior to unplugging, make sure that the coffee maker is not in brewing mode. Turn off the brewing mode by pressing on the illuminated button(s) and indicator light(s) will turn OFF, showing the unit is not working in brewing mode. Unplug appliance from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance. 9. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to a qualified technician for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment. NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE UNIT YOURSELF THIS WILL VOID THE WARRANTY. 10. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. 11. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons. 12. Do not use outdoors. 13. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, as it can cause a tripping hazard that could result in personal injury 14. DO NOT place this appliance on or near hot surfaces, hot gas/electric burner or in a heated oven as these actions could cause the appliance or cord to melt. 15. Always fill the water tank first, then plug the cord into the wall outlet. This will reduce the risk of electrical shock or fire 16. To interrupt the brewing cycle at any time, press the illuminated button once. Then remove plug from wall outlet. 17. Press the illuminated button(s) once to turn the coffee maker off. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet when the coffee maker is not in use, left unattended, or when the carafe is empty. 18. Never move the coffee maker by pulling the cord. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter or touch hot surfaces. 19. Stand the coffee maker on a table or flat surface. 20. Do not use a cracked glass carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle. 21. Only use the glass carafe with this coffee maker. Handle with care as the glass is very fragile. 22. Snap lid securely onto glass carafe before serving coffee using. 23. Never use your Coffee maker without water in it. ­2

24. The carafe is designed for use with this coffee maker. It must never be used on a range top. 25. Do not set hot glass carafe on a wet or cold surface. 26. Do not clean glass carafe with cleaners, steel wool pads, or other abrasive material. 27. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not mount over a sink. 28. To reduce the risk of fire, do not store anything directly on top of the coffee maker surface when the coffee maker is in operation. 29. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock do not remove the base cover. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Repairs should only be done by an authorized service personnel. 30. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet when the appliance is not in use. 31. Do not use appliance for other than intended use. 32. Do not attempt to move the appliance when it contains hot liquids as there is risk for personal injuries/burns. Allow liquids to cool before you move the appliance. CAUTION: There are two sharp needles that puncture the capsules. One is located inside the capsule adaptor and the other is located on the top underside of the adaptor compartment. To avoid risk of injury do not place fingers inside either parts. Also exercise caution when cleaning the parts. CAUTION: There is boiling water in the back tab lid section during the brew process. Do not open the lid at any time for risk of injury.

Proper precautions must be taken to prevent the risk of burns, fires, or other injury to persons or damage to property. 1. All users of this appliance must read and understand this Instruction Manual before operating or cleaning this appliance. 2. The cord to this appliance should be plugged into a 120V AC electrical outlet only. 3. Use water only in this appliance. Do not put any other liquids or food products in this appliance. Do not mix or add anything to the water placed in this appliance, except as instructed in the User Maintenance Instructions to clean the appliance. 4. DO NOT attempt to move an appliance containing hot liquids. Allow appliance to cool completely before moving. 5. Keep appliance at least 4 inches away from walls or other objects during operation Do not place any objects on top of appliance while it is operating. Place the appliance on a surface that is resistant to heat. 6. If this appliance begins to malfunction during use, press either the GROUND COFFEE or CAPSULE button or the ON/OFF button. Then remove plug from wall outlet. Do not use or attempt to repair the malfunctioning appliance. 7. Do not use this appliance after it has fallen into or has become immersed in water Doing so could result in personal injury or property damage. ­3

8. It is recommended to let this appliance cool down for at least 5 minutes between brewing cycles. Wait at least 5 minutes before refilling the water reservoir. Adding water before the appliance cools down could result in personal injury due to steam exposure. 9. Always use fresh, cool water in your appliance. Warm water or other liquids, except as listed in cleaning section, may cause damage to the appliance. Carafe Safety Precautions 1. Do not use a cracked carafe or any carafe with a loose or weakened handle. 2. This carafe is designed to be used only on the keep warm plate of your Coffee maker. Do not use in a conventional oven or on a stovetop. 3. To avoid breakage, handle carafe with care. Avoid impact. Glass will break as a result of impact. Use care when filling with water to avoid hitting faucet. 4. Do not place hot carafe on cool or wet surface. Allow carafe to cool before washing or adding liquids. 5. Do not set empty carafe on a hot heating surface. Do not clean with steel wool pads, abrasive cleanser, or any other materials that may scratch. 6. Do not bump or scratch the carafe. Remove carafe from the keep warm plate to avoid burning or scorching. Never operate the Coffee maker with a carafe that has boiled dry. 7. Discard carafe if it is cracked, scratched, or heated while empty for an extended period of time. Coffee Yield 12 Cup Coffee maker: 12 (5 oz.) cups NOTE: A 5-oz.cup is the American industry standard and is used by most Coffee maker manufacturers. To fill your favorite over-sized mug, fill Coffee maker reservoir with enough water for 3 to 4 cups (15 to 20 ounces). WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT REMOVE THE BOTTOM COVER. NO USER-SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE. REPAIR SHOULD BE DONE BY AUTHORIZED SERVICE PERSONNEL ONLY. Notes on the Plug This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way. Notes on the Cord The provided short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Do not use an extension cord with this product. Plasticizer Warning CAUTION: To prevent Plasticizers from migrating from the finish of the counter top or table top or other furniture, place NON-PLASTIC coasters or place mats between the appliance and the finish of the counter top or table top. Failure to do so may cause the finish to darken; permanent blemishes may occur or stains can appear. Electric Power If the electrical circuit is overloaded with other appliances, your appliance may not operate properly. It should be operated on a separate electrical circuit from other appliances.

Introduction For The Single Serve Side • • •

•

This Coffee Maker single-serve side uses a pressurized system to brew a perfect single hot beverage. The adjustable drip tray accommodates most cup sizes, mugs, tall travel mugs or tumblers. Use the ground coffee adaptor (included) to create special blends of your favorite coffee. For added personalization, add a dash of your favorite spice, from cinnamon, orange peel, cardamom or vanilla bean to name a few. Using the reusable ground coffee adaptor is an environmentally-friendly choice that will also save you money!

­Before Using For The First Time CAUTION: To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the Coffee Maker or allow the power cord to come into contact with water or other liquids. 1. Remove all packing material and labels from the inside and outside of the Coffee Maker Place the unit on a flat, clean surface. 2. Before use, thoroughly clean the glass carafe with lid, removable filter holder, permanent 12 cup coffee filter and both adaptors with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry. 3. To clean the inside of the unit, it is recommended to brew two full cycles of water only on both sides. CARAFE SIDE 1. Clean the inside of the Coffee maker by brewing 2 full carafes of tap water (see “setting up the machine”). Do not add the permanent coffee filter or ground coffee for this initial cleaning. NOTE: At the end of the first cycle, allow 15 minutes for the coffee maker to cool. 2. Brew a second carafe of fresh water. 3. Wait an additional 15 minutes to allow the coffee maker to cool before brewing your first carafe of coffee. SINGLE SERVE SIDE 1. Using the desired cup, mug, or tumbler as your measure, add water to the water tank. 2. Select the desired height for the drip tray, depending on the size of the cup, mug, or tumbler being used. 3. Place the empty cup, mug, or tumbler in position on the drip tray cover. NOTE: Do not add any adaptor for this initial cleaning. 4. Press either the GROUND COFFEE or CAPSULE button. 5. The red HEATING indicator light will begin to flash as the Coffee Maker begins heating the water. 6. When water has reached the optimum temperature, the HEATING light will go out and the blue BREWING light will illuminate. Water will begin to stream through the nozzle. At the end of the cycle, the Coffee Maker and all indicator lights will automatically turn OFF. IMPORTANT: Repeat this process twice to thoroughly clean the machine before using for the first time. Unplug the Coffee Maker when not in use.

Brewing Instructions SETTING UP THE MACHINE FOR BREWING A 12-CUP CARAFE IMPORTANT: Before brewing, always check to make sure water level inside the water tank is past the 2 cup line and add water if needed. Never exceed the 12 cup fill line. NOTE: The amount of brewed coffee will always be less than the amount of water placed into the water reservoiras much as 10% is absorbed by coffee grounds and filter. NOTE: At any time press the ON/OFF button to begin brew cycle. 1. Lift to open the Coffee maker lid. Fill carafe with cold tap water to the desired line and pour into water reservoir at the back of the coffee maker. The stepped water level indicator can be easily viewed inside coffee maker. 2. Place empty carafe on the keep warm plate. 3. For added convenience, remove the permanent filter. Measure 1 level tablespoon or 1 scoop with the provided scoop of drip or regular ground coffee for each cup of coffee desired. For stronger or milder coffee, adjust amount of ground coffee to suit your taste. 4. Replace the permanent filter back into the filter holder and place back into the coffee maker. Close the lid. 5. Plug the power cord into 120V/60HZ power supply socket, the LCD background indicator will illuminate in blue and “AM 12:00” will be displayed on the LCD. At that time, “12” will flash while “: 00” will steadily light. To set the hour select between and . Once the desired hour is reached push the PROG / CLOCK button. The minute “00” will now flash. Again, toggle between the and buttons to reach the desired minute. To confirm push the PROG / CLOCK button. The coffee maker will beep. NOTE: The backlight indicator will go into sleep mode within 5 seconds if no further buttons are selected.

Brewing Coffee 1. Press the ON/OFF button to start the brew cycle. One beep will sound and the ON/OFF button will illuminate. The Coffee maker will begin the brew cycle. NOTE: To interrupt the brew process at any time, press the ON/OFF button once. The coffee maker will beep and the ON/OFF light in the button will go out. The screen will display the clock. 2. Upon completion of the brew cycle, wait at least 1 minute until the dripping coffee from the flow valve into the carafe has stopped. The carafe lid should be kept in place to facilitate safe serving and help keep coffee at a proper serving temperature. Tilt the carafe slightly and pour the hot coffee very slowly, so that the flow of the brewed coffee does not exceed the width of the spout. 3. Once the brew cycle is complete, the coffee maker will beep and will go into the keep-warm mode. At that time the LCD will show . The keep warm time will count up from 0:00. When the coffee maker reaches the preset keep warm time, three beeps can be heard and will disappear. 4. During the KEEP WARM mode press the ON/OFF button once to turn the Coffee maker off when the carafe is empty or when the coffee maker is not in use.

Setting The Clock 1. Press and hold the PROG / CLOCK button for 3 seconds to enter into the clock-setting mode. The LCD will illuminate and the current hour will flash. 2. Press button once to increase the hour by one increment each time, or hold the button to increase quickly. Press once to decrease the hour by one increment each time, or hold the button to decrease quickly. Once your desired hour time is achieved, press the PROG / CLOCK button to confirm. 3. At that time, the current minute digits will illuminate and flash. button once to increase one minute each time and press once to decrease one 4. Again, press the minute each time. Both buttons can be held to increase the minutes quickly. Once the desired minute has been reached, press the PROG / CLOCK button to confirm. One beep can be heard and the set time will appear. 5. The coffee maker will automatically switch from AM to PM once the hour passes 12. 6. If a mistake was made or to exit the clock setting mode, wait 5 seconds and the LCD will show the last clock setting.

Brew Strength Selection Gourmet strength coffee: The gourmet setting adjusts the brewing cycle of a full pot of coffee to extract a higher percent of soluble. This results in a more flavorful pot of coffee. Bold strength coffee: The Bold setting adjusts the brewing cycle of a full pot of coffee, allowing more time for the coffee to “steep” to extract further oils and flavor from the coffee bean. This results in a bolder tasting pot of coffee. 1. Press the STRENGTH 1-4 CUP button once to enter into the Brew strength selection mode. The LCD will flash . and . To choose between strengths, push the and buttons. The default setting is Regular which is . To confirm the selection push STRENGTH 1-4 CUP button. The coffee maker will beep. 2. To select Gourmet strength coffee, press STRENGTH 1-4 CUP button to enter into the Brew strength selection mode. The LCD will flash strength. Use the and buttons until is selected. To confirm the selection push STRENGTH 1-4 CUP button. The coffee maker will beep. 3. To select Bold strength coffee, press STRENGTH 1-4 CUP button to enter into the Brew strength selection mode. The LCD will flash strength. Use the and buttons until is selected. To confirm the selection push STRENGTH 1-4 CUP button. The coffee maker will beep. 1-4 Cup Brew Cycle: Automatically adjusts the brewing process for maximum flavor when brewing small quantities. Ideal for brewing 1 to 4 cups of coffee. * If 12 cups of water are poured into the water tank then 12 cups of coffee will brew. To select the 1-4 cup, press and hold the STRENGTH 1-4 CUP button. One beep can be heard and the LCD will display .

Automatic Start Brewing Coffee Press PROG / CLOCK button once, the LCD screen will display . The previously set hour will flash (last saved). The default future brew time is 12:00 AM. Follow the “Setting the clock“ to set the HOUR and the MINUTE. After completion of setting the pre-set clock, the coffee maker will beep and display the auto-start time for 3 seconds before switching to the current time. The LCD will also display . Once the current time reaches the set time for the auto brew, the coffee maker will start the brewing cycle. To cancel the automatic start brewing cycle; simply push on the PROG / CLOCK button once more until disappears.

Remembering Your Automatic Start Brew Preferences Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds to recall the last automatic start brew settings that were programmed. will appear. The coffee maker will begin to brew coffee at the pre-set time. To cancel, press and hold ON/OFF button for 3 seconds and will disappear.

Pause And Serve If you wish to serve a cup of coffee before the brew cycle is completed, simply remove the carafe from the keep warm plate. Dripping will automatically cease. Return the carafe onto the keep warm plate; dripping will resume. CAUTION: To prevent injury when utilizing the pause and serve feature, replace carafe within 30 seconds after removing during the brewing process. 1. After approximately 2 cups of coffee have been brewed, the carafe may be slowly removed and the coffee will stop dripping. 2. The flow valve is located on the bottom of the filter holder and is activated when the carafe is removed. This design makes it possible for you to remove the carafe and pour a cup of coffee before the entire carafe is brewed. IMPORTANT: When replacing the filter holder, the flow valve must be properly inserted into the front hole of the machine, so that it can be seen as it sits on the top of the carafe lid. 3. When using this feature, make sure that the carafe is replaced under the filter holder within 30 seconds to prevent overflow.

Setting The Duration Of The Keep Warm Press the KEEP WARM / CLEAN button once, the LCD will display “2:00“ and will flash. The default keep warm time is “2:00”. If you have already set a duration of time for the keep warm, this will be the new default so long as the coffee maker stays plugged in. To select the period of keep warm time toggle between the and buttons. Each time the button is pushed the keep warm time is increased or decreased by increments of 30 minutes. The keep warm time is between 30 minutes to 4 hours. Once the desired keep warm time is reached, press the KEEP WARM / CLEAN button again to confirm. At that time, the coffee maker will beep.

Auto Shut Off The coffee maker will automatically shut off once the keep warm time has elapsed after brew.

Brewing A Second Carafe Of Coffee 1. To brew another carafe of coffee, press the ON/OFF button once to turn the Coffee maker off if not already off. Remove the plug from the wall outlet. It is recommended that the Coffee maker be off and allowed to cool for 15 minutes between cycles. CAUTION: Failure to allow Coffee maker to cool sufficiently could cause hot steam and spray to escape when water is added to the water reservoir. The hot steam and spray can cause severe burns. 2. Lift the Coffee maker lid and then lift and remove the permanent coffee filter; discard used coffee grounds, rinse. 3. Lift the removable filter holder up and out of the Coffee maker. 4. Rinse the glass carafe and removable filter holder in cool, clean water. IMPORTANT: Before brewing a second carafe, always check to make sure the water level is past the 2 cup line but never exceeds the 12 cup fill line. Add the desired amount of cold tap water into the water reservoir. Follow the instructions above for setting up the machine. 5. Press the ON/OFF button once to turn the Coffee maker off when the carafe is empty or when the coffee maker is not in use.

Hints For Great Tasting Coffee • • • • • • • •

A clean coffee maker is essential for making great tasting coffee. Regular cleaning, as described in the Care & Cleaning Instructions and Descaling sections of this Instruction Manual is highly recommended. Always use fresh, cold water in your Coffee maker. Finer grinds, promote a fuller extraction and provide rich, full-bodied coffee. Regular grinds will require slightly more coffee per cup to provide the strength of a finer grind. Store coffee in a cool, dry place. Once coffee has been opened, keep it tightly sealed in the refrigerator to maintain freshness. For optimum coffee flavor, buy whole beans and grind them finely just before brewing. Do not re-use coffee grounds since this will greatly impair coffee flavor. Reheating coffee is not recommended. Coffee is at its peak flavor immediately after brewing. Small oil droplets on the surface of brewed, black coffee is due to the extraction of oil from the coffee grounds. Oiliness may occur more frequently if heavily roasted coffees are used. Over extraction may also cause oiliness, indicating a need to clean your Coffee maker.

SETTING UP THE MACHINE FOR BREWING A CUP OF COFFEE The drip tray adjusts to two heights to accommodate shorter cups or mugs to taller travel mugs/tumblers. For taller travel mugs and tumblers, make sure the drip tray and cover are properly placed in the lower position (See Figure 2 ) When brewing a smaller cup, raise the drip tray to the upper level to avoid splatter (See Figure 4 )

Adjusting The Drip Tray 1. Grasp the drip tray and cover from the base cut-outs. (See Figure 2.) 2. Holding on to both pieces, slightly tilt upwards and slide out from the unit. (See Figure 3.) 3. Using the tab on the back of the drip tray as your guide, again slightly tilt both pieces upwards and glide the tabs into the upper slots on the Coffee Maker body. (See Figure 4.) Press down on the drip tray with your hand to make sure it is firmly and properly attached before placing the cup or mug on top.

Setting up the machine using the capsule adaptor WARNING: Before brewing, it is recommended the water tank be filled at least to Figure 5 the lowest 6-oz. step. To avoid damage to your Coffee Maker, never operate your Single Serve Coffee Maker when the water tank is empty. Capsule 1. Lift the water tank lid located at the top back of the unit (see Figure 1.) 2. Using the desired cup, mug, or tumbler as your measure, add water to the water tank. The water tank has an easily visible, stepped water level indicator. Add water to the desired fill line to brew one cup of any hot beverage. The level indicator marks 6-oz., 10-oz., and 15-oz. However, any amount of water may be added. DO NOT EXCEED the 15-oz. MAX fill line. 3. Lower the lid. IMPORTANT: For optimal flavor, distilled water is preferred. 4. Position the cup under the nozzle and onto the center of the drip tray cover. 5. Pull the adaptor compartment’s front tab up to unlock and lift the lid. 6. Choose the capsule adaptor. With the handle facing front, place the capsule adaptor into the adaptor compartment. Slide the adaptor handle into the grooves at the front of the Coffee Maker (See Figure 5.) 7. Add the capsule of your choice into the capsule adaptor. 8. Press the adaptor compartment’s lid down firmly. An audible click can be heard as the lid is locked firmly into position. Both the top and bottom of the capsule will be punctured. 9. Plug the Coffee Maker into a 120V AC electrical wall outlet. 10. Press the CAPSULE button to begin the brew cycle. 11. The red HEATING indicator light will begin to flash as the Coffee Maker begins heating the water. 12. When the water has reached the optimum temperature, the heating light will go out and the blue BREWING light will illuminate. 13. The pump will then activate and coffee will begin to stream through the nozzle. 14. To interrupt the brewing cycle at any time, press the CAPSULE button. Then remove the plug from the wall outlet. 15. At the end of the cycle, the Coffee Maker and all indicator lights will automatically turn OFF. 16. Allow unit to cool before removing the used capsule to discard. 17. Unplug the Coffee Maker when not in use. ­10

Setting Up The Machine Using The Ground Coffee Adaptor

Figure 6 The ground coffee adaptor allows you to create your own favorite blend of coffee. Personalize your blends by adding a dash of cinnamon, orange peel, cardamom or vanilla bean for flavoring, to name a few options. Ground NOTE: For best results, use medium ground coffee. Coffee WARNING: Before brewing, it is recommended the water tank be filled at least to the lowest 6-oz. step. To avoid damage to your Coffee Maker, never operate your Single Serve Coffee Maker when the water tank is empty. 1. Lift the water tank lid located at the top back of the unit. (See Figure 1.) 2. Using the desired cup, mug, or tumbler as your measure, add water to the water tank. The water tank has an easily visible, stepped water level indicator. Add water to the desired fill line to brew one cup of any hot beverage. The level indicator marks 6-oz., 10-oz., and 15-oz. However, any amount of water may be added. DO NOT EXCEED the 15-oz. MAX fill line. 3. Lower the lid. IMPORTANT: For optimal flavor, distilled water is preferred. 4. Position the cup under the nozzle and onto the center of the drip tray cover. 5. Pull the adaptor compartment’s front tab up to unlock and lift the lid. 6. Choose the ground coffee adaptor. Fill the reusable ground coffee adaptor to the designated fill line, or to taste. DO NOT EXCEED the MAX fill line. It is recommended to use one 1 tbsp of ground coffee for every cup of water. 7. With the handle facing front, place the ground coffee adaptor into the adaptor compartment. Slide the adaptor handle into the grooves at the front of the Coffee Maker. (See Figure 6.) 8. Press the adaptor compartment’s lid down firmly. An audible click can be heard as the lid is locked firmly into position. 9. Plug the Coffee Maker into a 120V AC electrical wall outlet. 10. Press the GROUND COFFEE button to begin the brew cycle. 11. The red HEATING indicator light will begin to flash as the Coffee Maker begins heating the water. 12. When the water has reached the optimum temperature, the heating light will go out and the blue BREWING light will illuminate. 13. Setting Up Your TripleBrew Coffee Maker To Boil Water Heating plain water in your Single Serve Coffee Maker is quick and easy. Water is dispensed at the perfect temperature for preparing single cups of bagged teas, instant soups, quick cooking oats, packaged hot chocolate, hot apple cider or anything that requires boiling water. WARNING: Before brewing, it is recommended the water tank be filled at least to the lowest 6-oz. step. To avoid damage to your Coffee Maker, never operate your Single Serve Coffee Maker when the water tank is empty. DO NOT EXCEED the 15-oz. MAX fill line. IMPORTANT: To prevent tainted or “off” flavors when changing hot beverages, while the unit is OFF, use a damp paper towel to completely remove any residue from the adaptor compartment. 1. Follow detailed brewing instructions described previously. 2. Following package instructions, add the specified amount of cold water to the water tank, never adding less than 6-oz or more than 15-oz 3. Prepare your cup, mug, or tumbler by placing the item of your choice into the mug 4. Select either adaptor. With the handle facing front, place the adaptor of choice into the adaptor compartment. Slide the adaptor handle into the grooves at the front of the coffee maker. 5. Following detailed instructions described previously, adjust the drip tray to accommodate your cup, mug, or tumbler. 6. Center the cup under the nozzle and press the CAPSULE button. 7. After water has been heated and dispensed, stir contents of mug well. ­11

Brewing Another Cup 1. You can brew cup after cup of your favorite hot beverage. 2. After the brewing cycle is completed, it is recommended to unplug the unit and allow the Coffee Maker to cool for 5 minutes between cycles.

User Maintenance Instructions This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user-serviceable parts. Any servicing requiring disassembly other than cleaning must be performed by a qualified appliance repair technician.

Care & Cleaning Instructions Always make sure Coffee Maker is unplugged. CARAFE SIDE 1. Always make sure the keep warm plate is cool before attempting to clean. 2. After every use, remove the permanent coffee filter, discard used coffee grounds, rinse thoroughly. 3. Wash the removable filter holder and glass carafe in hot, sudsy water. If necessary, scrub the inside of the carafe lid with a soaped kitchen brush. The carafe, permanent filter and removable filter holder are all top-rack dishwasher safe. The reusable scoop is also dishwasher safe but it should be placed in the machine alongside the cutlery. WARNING: To avoid breakage, handle carafe with care. Avoid impact. Glass will break as a result of impact. Use care when filling with water to avoid hitting the faucet. 4. Dry and replace disassembled parts. Make sure the removable filter holder is properly returned and fits back into the coffee maker 5. Close the lid. SINGLE SERVE SIDE 1. Always make sure the drip tray and cover are cool before removing from the base. 2. Rinse drip tray and cover and replace in the Coffee Maker base. 3. Press the adaptor compartment’s front lid to unlock and lift the lid. 4. Remove the used capsule from the capsule adaptor and discard. Rinse the capsule adaptor in warm water before each use. 5. When using the reusable ground coffee adaptor, discard the used coffee. Wash adaptor in warm, soapy water, to remove all coffee grinds. Rinse well. NOTE: Both the capsule and the ground coffee adaptors are top rack dishwasher safe. 6. Use a damp paper towel or sponge to completely remove any residue from the adaptor compartment. 7. Close the lid. Wipe the exterior of the Coffee Maker with a damp cloth to remove superficial stains. For stubborn stains, use a nylon or plastic pad with a non-abrasive cleanser. Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleansers.

Descaling Instructions Special cleaning of your Coffee Maker is recommended at least twice a year, depending on frequency of use and quality of water used in the unit. If water in your area is especially hard, the following cleaning procedure should be performed more often, since minerals in water can detract from the flavor of the coffee and possibly lengthen brew time. CARAFE SIDE Use Auto Clean directions to descale your coffee maker: IMPORTANT: If you have purchased a water filter (sold separately), remove the water filter and the water filter holder before activating the AUTO CLEAN. 1. Combine 6 cups of white vinegar and 4 cups of cold water in carafe. 2. Pour into water reservoir. 3. Place an 8 to 12 cup cupcake style paper filter in the removable filter basket. Insert filter basket into filter basket holder and close lid. 4. Make sure the lid of the carafe is in place and return the empty carafe on the keep warm plate. then press the ON/OFF 5. Press and hold the KEEP WARM / CLEAN button until the LCD indicates button, the coffee maker will beep and begin the cleaning function. 6. Part of the mixture begins to pass through the brew cycle in a slower sequence that lasts a total of five minutes. The remaining mixture will be held in the coffee maker for 30 minutes before completing its brew through. 7. When the coffeemaker completes the AUTO CLEAN cycle, it beeps and shuts off automatically. 8. Discard all water/vinegar solution from carafe & water tank. 9. Brew fresh water through the coffee maker 2 or 3 times before brewing coffee again. SINGLE SERVE SIDE The following cleaning procedure should be performed: 1. Fill water tank with 1 part white vinegar (3-oz.) to 3 parts cold water (9-oz.). 2. Do not add any adaptor. 3. Press either the GROUND COFFEE or CAPSULE button. 4. The red HEATING indicator light will begin to flash as the Coffee Maker begins heating the cleaning solution. 5. The blue BREWING light will illuminate as the cleaning solution begins to stream through the nozzle. At the end of the cycle, the Coffee Maker and all indicator lights will automatically turn OFF. 6. Following the same procedure, continue to run clean water through the Coffee Maker three times, or until water is clean and fresh and no residual vinegar odor or flavor remains. 7. Unplug the Coffee Maker when not in use. 8. Dry parts thoroughly. Wipe the Coffee Maker’s exterior with a dry cloth.

Storing Instructions 1. Unplug unit and allow to cool. 2. Never wrap cord tightly around the appliance. Do not put any stress on the cord where it enters the unit, as it could cause the cord to fray and break. 3. Store one clean adaptor in the Coffee Maker’s adaptor compartment. 4. Store the other adapter with the unit. 5. Store the Coffee Maker in a cool, dry place. 6. Never store unit while it is still plugged in.

El lado de monodosis de esta cafetera emplea un sistema presurizado para elaborar una bebida caliente individual perfecta. En la bandeja de goteo ajustable, se pueden colocar tazas, vasos, tazas de viaje altas o cubiletes de cualquier tamaño. Use el adaptador de café molido (incluido) para crear mezclas especiales de su café preferido. Para personalizar su café aún más, agregue una pizca de su especia favorita, como canela, cáscara de naranja, cardamomo o vaina de vainilla, ezv ntre otras. El adaptador reutilizable de café molido es una opción ecológica que también le permitirá ahorrar dinero.

Antes de utilizar por primera vez PRECAUCIÓN: Para protegerse contra una descarga eléctrica, no sumerja la cafetera ni permita que el cable eléctrico entre en contacto con agua u otros líquidos. 1. Quite todos los materiales de empaque y las etiquetas del interior y exterior de la cafetera. Coloque la unidad sobre una superficie plana y limpia. 2. Antes de usar, limpie minuciosamente la garrafa de vidrio con tapa, el soporte de filtro, el filtro permanente, y ambos adaptadores con agua tibia y jabón. Enjuague y seque las piezas. 3. Prepare una segunda garrafa de agua fresca. 4. Antes de elaborar su primera garrafa de café, espere 15 minutos más para permitir que la unidad se enfríe. LADO DE MONODOSIS 1. Use la taza, el vaso o los cubiletes que prefiera como medida para agregar agua al tanque. 2. Luego de haber elaborado aproximadamente 2 tazas de café, puede quitar la garrafa lentamente y el café dejará de gotear. 2. Desconecte el enchufe del tomacorriente de la pared. Se recomienda que la cafetera esté apagada y se enfríe durante 15 minutos entre ciclos. PRECAUCIÓN: Si no deja enfriar la cafetera lo suficiente, el vapor caliente que sale podría causar aspersión cuando agrega el agua al depósito. El vapor caliente puede ocasionar aspersión y quemaduras graves. 2. Levante la tapa de la cafetera y extraiga el filtro permanente para café; deseche los granos de café usados y enjuague. 3. Levante el soporte de filtro desmontable hacia arriba y afuera de la cafetera. 4. Enjuague la garrafa de vidrio y el soporte de filtro desmontable con agua fría y limpia. IMPORTANTE: Antes de elaborar una segunda garrafa, siempre compruebe que el nivel de agua supere la línea de 2 tazas pero que nunca supere la línea de llenado de 12 tazas. Agregue la cantidad deseada de agua de grifo en el depósito de agua. Siga las instrucciones anteriores para configurar la máquina. 5. Presione el botón ON/OFF (Iniciar y detener) una vez para apagar la cafetera cuando la garrafa esté vacía o cuando la unidad no esté en funcionamiento.

Consejos para lograr un café sumamente delicioso • Para lograr un café sumamente delicioso es crucial que la cafetera esté limpia. Se recomienda fervientemente realizar una limpieza periódica, según describen las Instrucciones de cuidado y limpieza y la sección de Desincrustación de este Manual de instrucciones. • Siempre use agua fresca y fría en su cafetera. • La molienda más fina contribuye a una extracción más completa, y brinda un café más rico y concentrado. La molienda común requerirá un poco más de café por taza para obtener la intensidad de una molienda más fina. • Guarde el café en un lugar fresco y seco. Una vez abierto, mantenga el envase de café cerrado herméticamente en el refrigerador para conservar la frescura. • Para que el café tenga un sabor óptimo, compre granos enteros y tritúrelos en pedacitos justo antes de comenzar la elaboración. • No vuelva a usar los granos de café molidos, ya que aplacará significativamente el sabor del café. • No se recomienda recalentar el café. CONFIGURATIÓN DE LA MÀQUINA PARA PREPARAR UNA TAZA DE CAFÉ La altura de la bandeja de goteo se puede ajustar para poder colocarle desde tazas o vasos bajos hasta tazas de viaje altas o cubiletes. En el caso de las tazas de viaje altas y los cubiletes, procure que la bandeja de goteo y la cubierta estén colocadas en la posición más baja (vea la figura 2). Cuando elabore el café en una taza más pequeña, eleve la bandeja de goteo hasta el nivel superior para evitar salpicaduras (vea la figura 4). Ajuste de la bandeja de goteo 1. Tome la bandeja de goteo y la cubierta de los huecos de la base (vea la figura 2). 2. Mientras sostiene ambas piezas, inclínelas levemente hacia arriba y deslícelas para extraerlas de la unidad (vea la figura 3). 3. NOTA: Los adaptadores de cápsulas y de café molido son aptos para el estante superior del lavavajillas. 6. Use una servilleta de papel o una esponja húmedas para eliminar por completo cualquier residuo del compartimiento del adaptador. 7. Cierre la tapa. Limpie el exterior de la cafetera con un paño húmedo para eliminar las manchas superficiales. Para las manchas difíciles, use una almohadilla de nilón o plástico con un limpiador no abrasivo. No use esponjas metálicas abrasivas ni limpiadores abrasivos.

Instrucciones para la desincrustación Se recomienda hacer una limpieza especial a su cafetera al menos dos veces al año, de acuerdo con la frecuencia de uso y la calidad de agua que se usa en la unidad. Si el agua de su zona es especialmente dura, debe realizar el siguiente procedimiento de limpieza con más frecuencia, ya que los minerales presentes en el agua pueden aplacar el sabor del café y, probablemente, extender el tiempo de elaboración. PARA EL LADO DE LA GARRAFA Siga las direcciones de limpieza automática: IMPORTANTE: Si compró un filtro de agua (se vende por separado), quite el filtro de agua y el soporte de filtro de agua antes de activar la función LIMPIEZA AUTOMÁTICA. 1. Mezcle 6 tazas de vinagre blanco y 4 tazas de agua fría en la garrafa. 2. Vierta en el depósito de agua. 3. Coloque un filtro de papel estilo pastel para 8 a 12 tazas en la cesta filtrante desmontable. Inserte la cesta filtrante en el soporte de la cesta filtrante y cierre la tapa. 4. Asegúrese de que la tapa de la garrafa esté en su lugar y coloque nuevamente la garrafa vacía en la placa para mantener caliente. 5. Mantenga presionado el botón KEEP WARM / CLEAN (Mantener caliente / Limpiar) hasta que la pantalla (LIMPIAR). Luego, oprima el botón ON/OFF (Iniciar y detener), la unidad emitirá un pitido y indique comenzará con la función de limpieza. 6. Parte de la mezcla comienza a atravesar el ciclo de elaboración en una secuencia más lenta que dura en total cinco minutos. La mezcla restante quedará en la cafetera durante 30 minutos antes de finalizar la elaboración. NOTA: El ciclo de limpieza completo demorará de 45 a 60 minutos en completarse. 7. Cuando la cafetera finaliza el ciclo de LIMPIEZA AUTOMÁTICA, emite un pitido y se apaga automáticamente. 8. Deseche toda la solución de agua/vinagre de la garrafa y el tanque de agua. 9. Prepare agua fresca en el aparato 2 o 3 veces antes de volver a elaborar café. PARA EL LADO DE MONODOSI Siga las direcciones: 1. Llene el tanque de agua con 1 medida de vinagre blanco (89 ml/3 onzas) por 3 medidas de agua fría (266 ml/9 onzas). 2. No agregue ningún adaptador. 3. Presione el botón GROUND COFFEE (Café molido) o CAPSULE (Cápsula). 4. La luz indicadora de HEATING (precalentar) comenzará a parpadear a medida que la cafetera comienza a calentar la solución de limpieza. 5. La luz indicadora azul de BREWING (elaborar) se encenderá a medida que la solución de limpieza comienza a fluir por la boquilla. Cuando el ciclo finalice, la cafetera y todas las luces indicadoras se apagarán automáticamente. 6. Siguiendo el mismo procedimiento, deje correr agua limpia por la cafetera tres veces, o hasta que el agua esté limpia y fresca, y no quede olor o sabor a vinagre residual. 7. Desenchufe la cafetera cuando no la use. 8. Seque las piezas completamente. Limpie el exterior de la cafetera con un paño seco.

Instrucciones de almacenamiento 1. Desenchufe la unidad y deje que se enfríe. 2. Nunca ate el cable de forma ceñida alrededor del aparato. No ejerza fuerza sobre el cable cuando lo introduce en el aparato, ya que esto podría ocasionar que el cable se desgaste o rompa. 3. Guarde un adaptador limpio en el compartimiento del adaptador de la cafetera. 4. Guarde el otro adaptador con la unidad. 5. Almacene la cafetera en un lugar fresco y seco. 6. Nunca almacene la unidad si sigue estando enchufada.

Garantía limitada de DOS AÑOS Mediante la presente, SENSIO Inc. garantiza que, durante el plazo de DOS AÑOS a partir de la fecha de compra, este producto no presentará defectos mecánicos en el material ni en la mano de obra, y durante 90 días, no los presentará en las piezas no mecánicas. A su entera discreción, SENSIO Inc. reparará o reemplazará el producto que resulte defectuoso, o emitirá un reembolso por el producto durante el plazo de garantía. Esta garantía es válida únicamente para el comprador minorista original a partir de la fecha de compra minorista inicial y no es transferible.
