3. Adventure Guide Reads  Say> We all have habits and we all have good ones and bad ones. The good habits are the things that help us and make our parents and God proud. The bad habits are the things that aren’t good for us and they make God and our parents sad. Say> Stand up if you always telling the truth. This is good habit because it means your parents can trust you. > Sit back down Say > Stand up if you ever argue with your Mom when she asks you to do a chore. This isn’t a helpful habit because God tells us to obey our parents! > Sit back down

3. Adventure Guide Reads  Say> None of us like to be around stinky things. Things that stink are rotten and gross. Ask> What are some things that are really stinky? Ask> Why don’t we like stinky things? Ask> What are some examples of stinky thinking?

•This is a difficult passage for kids because it talks directly about death and life; however the bottom line is simple. If we follow Christ, then our life should “smell” good. That happens through God’s Spirit living in us. Paul talks in this passage about NEW LIFE vs Old Life. Ask the kids, “what smells better? old shoes or new shoes? If our life has been made new in Christ, what should our life look like?

“Because of his extraordinary spirit, Daniel soon surpassed the other officers and the chief administrators—so much so that the king had plans to set him over the entire kingdom.” Daniel 6:3

Pathway to Fun! Lion’s Den Game

Time to Pray Craft

Create an open space in your room. Make a tape line down the middle of the floor. On one side of the line, place a chair facing away from the line. Play the game Lion’s Den. Select one “lion” to sit on the chair with his or her back to the line. Have the rest of the kids stand on the other side of the line. Place a “lion’s bone” (rolled-up newspaper or a small ball) directly beneath the chair. One by one, invite kids to sneak up and try to steal the lion’s bone without being touched or tagged by the lion.

Daniel prayed to God 3 times a day. Make a clock face on a paper plate, cut out hands from an index card, and attach with a paper fastener. Mark times on your clock to show different times that you will pray. Decorate your clock however you like.

The first person to successfully carry the bone back across the line without being tagged gets to reset the game and become the lion in the next round. Remind everybody about the need for gentleness so everyone can have fun. The lions did a good job of protecting their bones! What helped you be successful in taking it? Repeat as time allows.

Supplies: • Paper Plates • Index Cards • Paper Fastener • Crayons

Supplies: ● Tape ● Chair
