Message from THE DIRECTOR As this school year draws to a close and we approach the last days of school for many of the children. I want to thank each and every one of you. Firstly, for choosing olivine school and secondly for trusting us with your child’s education, for the continuous support you have given our school and finally for all the support that you have given us as a team. Special thanks to every child for all the warmth, memories and the learning that we have shared over the year. We have adapted and flexed to meet the challenges that the post covid 19 school calendar have thrown at us with positivity and a ‘can do’ approach! We truly value the great partnership we have with you all. As the graduation classes graduate this coming thursday, another door is opening for them as they embark on the next stage of their educational journey. Children have learnt so many things during their time with us and i am pleased to report that progress and attainment are both outstanding, they have also learnt many more equally valuable things, including how to be a good friend, how to resolve conflict, how to persevere, how to find their own solutions and how to always do their best. We can’t always “be the best”, but we can always “do our best” and i hope the children understand this and take it away with them. We are sending off to primary school, junior primary and junior secondary school, kind, inquisitive, independent, curious children who love to learn. We are so proud of each one. On a housekeeping note, please ensure that, we have an email address for your family as all school communication next year will be through email. We are all very proud of your children and would like to congratulate them on completing another successful school year. You can be very proud of them and how they represent their families and their school on a daily basis. We would like to wish those who are leaving us all the very best in future endeavours. We hope that you will look back fondly on your time here in olivine school, kindly ensure you fill in the withdrawal form. We say a fond farewell to all our grade 6 learners who are transiting to junior secondary school in our school. They take with them lots of happy memories. We wish them great success and happiness. It has been a sheer delight and god’s grace in having each and every one of the learners as members of our school community. We wish you all a happy festival season, enjoy the long vacation with your child/ren, pray for them and cherish the moments. Ensure your child/ren engage in meaniful play time, monitor their movements and guide what they watch. Listen to them as much as you can but above all, remember psalm 121:8 “the lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore”, may this be our prayer over all children during this long vacation.
