Theme: Brighten Our Corner

Helpful Notes The Philomaths will meet at 1:00 p.m. on the third Friday of the months of August through December, and March through June at the home of the hostess, unless oth- erwise indicated. If active members do not notify the hostess of their expected absence, the hostess will expect them. Luncheon meetings will begin at 12 p.m, unless members are noti ed of a different time. It is important for the hostess to know if you will attend a luncheon or activity, as reservations need to be made in advance, and often paid in advance. Please notify the hostess of your intent at the previous meeting, or as early as possible. If we are traveling, we will car pool. Meet at the west side of the town square at 11:30 am, or the time appointed by the hostess. Historical Note: Because of the virulent Covid -19 Pandemic in 2020 - 2021, we chose not to meet in person for most of our Philomaths meetings. We wore our face masks, stayed away from others, and remained mostly at home under voluntary quarantine. Vaccines for the disease became available early in 2021. We are hoping those will make us safe even with the new Covid Variant Delpha now circulating among the unvaccinated, which includes children under 12 years of age. We are now planning to meet regularly this year - 2020-21.

MOTTO:Mutual help gives strength.

Collect for Club Women KEEP us O Lord from pettiness; let us be large in thought, in word and deed ... LET us be done with fault finding and leave off self seeking... MAY we put away all pretense and meet each other face to face, without self pity and without prejudice... MAY we never be hasty in judgement and always generous... LET us take time for all things: make us grow calm, serene, gentle... TEACH us to put into action our better impulses straight forward and unafraid… GRANT that we may realize that it is the lit- tle things that create differences; that in the big things of life we are one ... AND may we strive to touch and know the great human heart common to us all, and ... O LORD GOD let us not forget to be kind ... Written by Mary Stewart for the Women’s Institute in 1904. Reproduced here is Robin Watt’s copy done by hand, under Mary Stewart’s close supervision c.1920.
