Calendar About Us

About Colonel By badminton team has been a sports team that is highly recognized. We are looking to turn it into a club this year to bring back the sport and hopefully we can see a lot of you guys on the courts with us. We plan to offer quality weekly training.

Why A Club? We have chosen to turn the sports team into a club to encourage more participants towards the sport. Looking to bring the popularity of the sport up, choosing a club will further making this accessible. With the opportunity for players of all skill levels to come and enjoy some fun on the courts. This will also include learning opportunities for various athletes as well as volunteering and potential coaching opportunities for those who are interested. Giving more and more opportunities is a great way to start bringing the sport back to life and eventually one day making it as popular as it once was before the global pandemic.

2021-2022

Past School Teams Over the years, the badminton team has been something that many students are looking forwards to. Many students become overly excited to participating in the team. However, a lack of participation from the students after Covid-19 has lead to concerns from both other players as well as the coaches. We believe that bringing back the team as a club will allow more participates in a less competitive environment. Young athletes will be able to try out a new sport and hopefully enjoy the experience.

2018-2019

About Practices During the year, we are looking forwards to using the gym to give athletes more experience with the sport. We would like to hold weekly practices where you can come play with your friends or potentially improve your game by working with coaches. It would also be in our great interest to us if you try out for the team near March Break. This will potentially give multiple opportunities for former members to improve their skills and new members to participate.

Competition & Tournaments Throughout the year, there will be one tournament held between schools towards the start of April. Normally, this would only give our athletes around one month to train for this tournament. However, with the help of the new club, this would allow more practice time for our team to hopefully get us better results. Furthermore, giving us more chances towards preparing us for the tournament.

Bringing Back The Sport We hope to bring back the sport with this new program that we have developed. Allowing more students to participate with the sport. This will allow more chances for students to get a chance to try out the sport. Furthermore, helping to improve the team by giving them more time to get comfortable to get use to the gyms as well as playing conditions that could arise.
