School on Singularities in Geometry, Topology and Foliations November 24th December 19th, 2014. The School took place at the Instituto de Matemáticas (Unidad Cuernavaca) de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. The School program was organized in 11 courses (some of them with close relations) and seven talks (five of these were given by advanced phd students). Each day there were six hours of courses and talks. There has been organized some hours for discussions and for questions related to the courses. There have been given notes for most of the courses. Those notes can be found in the web site: htp://paginas.matem.unam.mx/cimpa/index.php/es/ . There is going to be a text book on the courses in the Series Notas de cursos of the collection Papirhos of the Instituto de Matemáticas UNAM. There has been 132 participants attending the School, 80 living in México ( Cuernavaca, Guanajuato, México City, Puebla, Zacatecas,...) and 53 coming from abroard (Brezil, Colombia, France, India, Iran, Japan, Spain, Perou,...). Among the participants 36 woman and 96 men. The interaction between the lecturers and the audience has been very rich. The ambience of the “Palapa” (where the lectures took place) and the garden of the Instituto de Matemáticas (Unidad Cuernavaca) gave an appropriate environment for discussions among the participants during lunch time and coffeebreaks. There were undergraduate, graduate and phd students, postdoctorates and professors attending the lectures. All the students were highly impressed with the courses and had the opportunity to freely ask questions and talk with the lecturers during lunch and coffeebreaks. The School was followed by a Workshop on Singularities in Geometry, Topology, Foliations and Dynamics in honor of José Seade, held in Mérida (Yucatán, México) during two weeks. A great number of participants of the School (phd students, postdoctorates and professors) assisted to the Workshop as well. Courses “Holomorphic foliations”, by Adolfo Guillot (IM, UNAM*). “Local polar varieties in the study of singularities of spaces and maps”, by Bernard Teissier (Institut Mathématique de Jussieu). “Singular holomorphic foliations”, by Frank Loray (IRMAR, Université de Rennes). “Dynamical Systems and valuations”, by Felipe Cano (Universidad de Valladolid). “Tropical geometry and singularities”, by Fuensanta Aroca and Lucía López de Medrano (IM, UNAM*). “Geometric McKay Correspondence", by Javier Fernández de Bobadilla (Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas, Madrid). “Characteristic classes of singular varieties”, by JeanPaul Brasselet (Institut de Mathématiques de Luminy, Marseille). “PoincaréHopf's theorem on singular varieties”. by José Seade (IM, UNAM*). “Invariants of holomorphic foliations”, by Laura Ortiz (IM, UNAM*). “Singularities and valuations: interactions between geometry commutative algebra”, by Mark Spivakovsky (U. P. Sabatier, Toulouse). “Introduction to mixed singularities and their applications”, by Mutsuo Oka (Tokyo University of Science). Instituto de Matemáticas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. The course: “Elementary theory of holomorphic foliations”, by Dominique Cerveau (IRMAR, Université de Rennes) Had to be cancelled.
Talks: "Topology of Commuting Matrices", Alejandro Adem, University of British Columbia, Vancouver . “Perspectivas Matemáticas”, Bernard Teissier (Institut Mathématique de Jussieu). The following talks were given by advanced phd students. "Rigidity for germs of real analytic and smooth foliations", Jessica Jaurez Rosas, (Instituto de Matemáticas, UNAM). "Tangential centers of integrable vector fields", Jessie Pontigo Herrera, (Instituto de Matemáticas, UNAM). "Orthogonal kleinian groups" , Mayra Méndez Carrera, (Instituto de Matemáticas, UNAM)

Social activities:
There has been two social activities where people had the chance to meet, to have informal talks and have a nice time: a reception meeting at Monday 24th in the evening and a party on December 3rd in the afternoon and evening. On the week end some people were conduced to Teotihuacan, some others went by themselves to Xochicalco and to Mexico City. The local human support at the Unidad de Cuernacvaca was excellent! All the participants are very grateful to them.
Financial report for the School on Singularities in Geometry, Topology and Foliations. The local expenses consited in: Lodging. We used three hotels. Posada Tlaltenango, Bungallow Las Rosas and Hotel GS. Group meals. These were organized at the institute for lunch. Wellcome coktail, on monday evening, November 24th. Coffee breaks. Breakfast was paid for students at a restaurant in campus. Cash was given to many participants, in particular all students, for transportation and dinners.
The funds used are the following: 357,280 Pesos from the grant authorized by the CONACyT for the school and workshop (a total of 715,500 Pesos) 167,000 Pesos as a special support from CONACyT through postgraduate school of mathematicsUNAM. Divided in two parts: one of December 2013, corresponding to 102,000 Pesos. The other one, on August 2014, corresponding to 65,000 Pesos. 130,000 Pesos from postgraduate school of Mathematics of UNAM (Posgrado UNAM): A program called PAEP. 70,000 Pesos for support to students and 60,000 Pesos for lecturers 98,578 Pesos from CONACyT grant of Jose Seade 36,000 Pesos from LAISLA, FranceMexico Laboratorio Internacional Solomon Lefschetz Asociado. These funds were used for Bernard Teissier and Dung Tráng Lê. 31,000 Pesos from CIMPA. Equivlent to 1,800 Euros authorized by CIMPA to be used for local expanses of some participants supported by CIMPA. 30,000 Pesos from DGAPAPAPIITUNAM grant of José Seade. 30,000 Pesos from DGAPAPAPIITUNAM grant of Jawad Snoussi. 28,750 Pesos from ICTP. Authorized by ICTP to be used for local expanses of some participants supported by ICTP.
The total amount used as support for local expenses is: 908,708 Pesos. At the moment of the school, the rate Euro/Peso was of 17.22.
The local expenses cost corresponds then to: 52,770 Euros. Among the 132 registered participants, 125 were granted a support for local expenses. This makes a cost of: 7,270 Pesos, equivalently 422 Euros per person. However, 24 participants are from Cuernavaca. If we exlude them from the total cost, the average cost per participant is: 8,997 Pesos, equivalently 522 Euros. Support for air transportation was given to some participants: 79.890 Pesos, from ICTP was granted to support travel of 7 participants –
around 8,640 Euros from CIMPA was granted to support travel of 11 Participants.
167,712 Pesos paid for plane tickets of some particpants: 2 students, and 8 lecturers. Funds are from CONACyT, UNAM and LAISLA as it is indicated below: 21,230 Pesos de LAISLA/Mexico 20,543 Pesos Grant from CONACyT for the meetings 36,145 Pesos from UNAM: postgraduate school and PAPIIT Grant 89,794 Pesos from CONACyT through postgraduate school of mathematicsUNAM
The total amount used for transportation is: 385,362 Pesos, equivalently 22,378 Euros. Total amount used by the organizers for the school: 1,294,070 Pesos, equivalently 75,150 Euros. 7 participants paid for their own local expenses, two lecturers paid for their own flight, and other 12 participants from abroad paid for their own flight. This aproximative cost is around: 280,000 Pesos.
The total cost of the school is around: 1,574,000 Pesos, corresponding to 91,400 Euros.
