The periodic table is a tabular array of the chemical elements organized by atomic number, from the element with the lowest atomic number, hydrogen, to the element with the highest atomic number, oganesson. The atomic number of an element is the number of protons in the nucleus of an atom of that element. 3

FACTS ABOUT THE PERIODIC TABLE Dmitri Mendeleyev is the inventor of the modern periodic table. ... Scientists used battery polarity to weigh the elements. ... Technetium was the first artificially produced element The majority of the elements are metal WHAT IS THE PERIODIC TABLE ? It is called the periodic table because of the way the elements are arranged. You'll notice they're in rows and columns. The horizontal rows (which go from left to right) are called 'periods' and the vertical columns (going from up to down) are called 'groups‘. 4

(February 11, 1847 – October 18, 1931) was an American inventor and business man He developed many devices in fields such as electric power generation, mass communication, sound recording, and motion pictures. These inventions, which include the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and early versions of the electric light bulb, have had a widespread impact on the modern industrialized world. He was one of the first inventors to apply the principles of organized science and teamwork to the process of invention, working with many researchers and employees. He established the first industrial research laboratory. Thomas Alva Edison 5

Ḥasan Ibn al-Haytham, Latinized as Alhazen full name Abū ʿAlī al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ḥasan ibn alHaytham c. 965 – c. 1040), was a medieval mathematician, astronomer, and physicist of the Islamic Golden Age from present-day Iraq. Referred to as "the father of modern optics". he made significant contributions to the principles of optics and visual perception in particular. His most influential work is titled Kitāb al-Manāẓir (Arabic: " Bookكتااالمناظر ااال , of Optics"), written during 1011–1021, which survived in a Latin edition Ḥasan Ibn al-Haytham 8

Ibn al-Haytham was the first to explain that vision occurs when light reflects from an object and then passes to one's eyes and to argue that vision occurs in the brain, pointing to observations that it is subjective and affected by personal experience The structure of the human eye according to Ibn al-Haytham. Note the depiction of the optic chiasm. — Manuscript copy of his Kitāb al-Manāẓir 9

Latinized Armen Firman Abbas ibn Firnas was born in Ronda in the Takurunna province from Berber parents and lived in Córdoba Armen Firman was a Berber Andalusian polymath an inventor, astronomer, physician, chemist, engineer, Andalusi musician, and Arabic-language poet. He was reported to have experimented with a form of flight made various contributions in the field of astronomy and engineering. He constructed a device which indicated the motion of the planets and stars in the Universe. In addition, ibn Firnas came up with a procedure to manufacture colorless glass and made magnifying lenses for reading, which were known as reading stones Abu al-Qasim Abbas ibn Firnas ibn Wirdas alTakurini known as Abbas ibn Firnas 10

Abbas was the first human to try to fly in the sky near a Baghdad castle and flight for nearly ten mins and then felt down and got serious injures and lately died because of them in Cordoba 887 AD Which then gave the humans the idea to fly up in the sky 11

Plants doin’ that! Plants doin’ this! Plants doin’ photosynthesis! Plants keeping busy, Making food, Mix sunlight, water, With CO2… They don’t gotta’ eat, Are you really for real? Yup, photosynthesis, Makes their meal! Chlorophyll, The pigment’s green, Used to make A plant’s cuisine! They feed themselves, They’re good in stew, They help us breathe! They make O2… So if we’re hungry, Or want to breathe, Make sure green plants, Don’t ever leave! 12

Cl makes table salt, We know it’s just a fact! Oxidize, or use a flame, To make things hot, combust!!! Iron tends to oxidize, And makes a thing called rust… Chemical change, I’m feeling strange, I’m different, how ’bout you? Chemical change, The kind of change, That gives us something new! Chemical change 13

Science Fun Experiment Race a balloon-powered car What we learn from this experiment This activity teaches us Newton's Third Law of Motion. This explains that for every force which is being pushed on an object, there is an equal but opposite force pushing back. Herein, the balloon pushes the air in one direction and the air pushes back on the balloon to make it go in the other direction. The air is released from the balloon and the car is pushed in the forward direction. Things that you need Balloons Plastic straws Plastic straws & wooden skewers for axles Empty plastic bottles or cardboard containers Plastic bottle lids to make wheels of the car Transparent tape and Glue 14

15 Steps to do it 1. Cut the top of the bottle as per your requirement in order to have space where the balloon can rest. Leave the mouth of the bottle as it is. 2. To make the car wheel axles cut the plastic straws in half. Attach these straws at the bottom of the bottle or container. 3. Tape each half of the straw crosswise on the bottom, one at the front side and the other at the back. 4. Insert the wooden skewers through the straws. 5. The axles should extend farther than the border edges of the car. 6. Create a hole at the center of the bottle lids which will act as the car wheels. Attach the wheels on to the ends of skewers. 7. Make a hole at the backside of the bottle which is the backside of your car - the hole should be such that a straw can pass through. 8. Take a straw and attach a balloon to it. 9. Pass the straw attached balloon through the two holes that you created at the backside of the bottle and the one that you created right in the beginning. 10.Blow the balloon from the other end of the straw and the balloon-powered car is ready to be raced!!! Race a balloon-powered car

Air pressure Things that you need • A Balloon • A Plastic straw • Water • A small container (glass one is better to get a good visual experience) or a Peg Putty or Plasticine • A Plastic water bottle (Make sure it is clean and clear no matter the shape and size.) • Food Colour. What we learn from this experiment • Students learn about Air and Atmospheric pressure. • Explore different types of forces, pressures, and potential energy. • Get knowledge on various science terms such as atmospheric pressure, force, pressure, stress. • Can be a great science fair idea. • Encourages children to actively participate in science work-shops and events. 16

Air pressure 17 Steps to do it 1. Select a place where you feel free to do experiments with water like sinks or outdoors as this activity messy up things with water. 2. Now, pick an old and clear plastic bottle and make a hole of 10cm at the middle of the bottle. You can use kid-friendly knife or scissors to make hole. Whatever the tool you use, make sure you are moving it clock and anti-clock wise direction to achieve a good round shape. You can also use a soldering rod to make exact size hole as of straw. 3. Once the hole is ready, insert the plastic straw into it and seal any leakages around the hole using hot glue. You can also use putty or plasticine to seal it. 4. Then, take a small container and add some amount of water. Also add a few drops of food color and into the water to make it colourful. This colourful water is good to experiment with as it gives good visual experience of the experiment. 5. As a next step, pour the color water into the plastic bottle fixed with straw up to half way. And keep a peg or small glass or transparent container under the other end of the straw which is hanging outside of the bottle. 6. In this step, take a medium sized balloon and inflate it using your mouth or any balloon blower machine. Seal the mouth of the inflated balloon and fit it around the mouth of the bottle carefully. At this point, our school science fair project set up to show Air Pressure is ready for demo. 7. Now, release the secured mouth part of inflated balloon such that the air inside it goes straight down into the plastic bottle. 8. You will notice the color water inside the plastic bottle moving out of the straw towards the small container placed beside the plastic bottle under the open end of straw.
