Han transcurrido casi 23 años desde que tu carrera se inició, ¿qué queda hoy en día del Sergio de entonces? Podemos cambiar el envoltorio, pero lo más importante es la esencia, la vocación. Eso se mantiene igual, trabajamos para despertar un sentimiento de la gente, es algo muy frágil, pero muy atractivo, estás trabajando con algo maravilloso. Está visto que para ti el éxito no tiene fecha de caducidad, ¿cuál es tu secreto? El éxito tienes que mantenerlo de aliado, llevarte bien con él, pero con cierta distancia. No hay una fórmula, ni una varita mágica. Mi lema ha sido trabajar y disfrutar con lo que haces y, al mismo tiempo, hacer disfrutar a la gente que se encuentra a tu alrededor, hacerles participes. y la de Lacoste no defrauda en este sentido. De hecho, todo comenzó con una apuesta.   En 1923 los tenistas René Lacoste y el capitán del equipo de Francia paseaban por las calles de Boston cuando apostaron que si René ganaba el partido de esa tarde, recibiría una maleta de piel de cocodrilo.   Lacoste perdió el partido, pero la prensa americana, a la que ya sabemos que le entusiasman estas historias llenas de encanto, se enteró de la anécdota e inmediatamente le bautizó “Crocodile”, “Cocodrilo”. Seguro que el propio Lacoste participó mucho en ello, ya que disfrutaba mucho contando esta anécdota a todos.

What is the most important thing you’ve taken into account when designing an itinerary like “Fjords of the North”?

Centrarlo lo más posible en los fiordos. Oslo es bonita, pero quita por lo menos dos días a la exploración de los fiordos. Nosotros gracias a los compañeros de Pullmantur Air no tenemos limitación y esto nos ha permitido abrir el itinerario y utilizar Trondheim como puerto de entrada, subiendo más al norte y visitando más destinos.

Focusing it as much as possible on the fjords. Oslo is nice, but it takes at least two days away from exploring the fjords. Thanks to our colleagues at Pullmantur Air, we have no limits and are able to offer this itinerary and use Trondheim as a port of entry, heading further north and visiting more destinations.

Each fjord has its special charms, from the sealevel view to the alpine panoramas. Other must-visit places are the remote farms, the Viking churches, which are the oldest wooden buildings in the world, the historical city of Bergen. There is a wealth of places to organise interesting excursions.

Is there a must-see destination in this new itinerary? What place shouldn’t be missed by anyone? It depends, at the beginning of the season the Hardangerfjord is spectacular with the snowline still very low and blossoming trees. Later in the season, the Trollstigen with its hair-raising bends, or the Briksdal glacier. The island near Aalesund, with its large colony of arctic birds, including colourful puffins. A quiet stroll through the old town of Bergen and taking the cable car up to the top of Mount Floien before walking the paths down to the bottom, is always very pleasant.

Everyone also shared the experience of travelling by cruise, a great formula which combines the adventure of discoveing new places and the comfort of rest on the boats. The meeting in the morning was rounded off with a Pullmantur raffle for 2 “Mediterranean Breeze” cruises for the attendees. The event was second-to-none and brought together excellent company.
