Bună ziua și bun venit la a treia noastră revista Mabgate, Lincoln Green și Burmantofts! Aceasta este ediția noastră de iarnă, plină de rețete, povești, imagini și alte lucruri interesante care să vă ajute să vă simțiți confortabil când este frig afară. De asemenea, vom împărtăși câteva știri interesante despre Forumul Cartierului, inclusiv despre modul în care puteți face o schimbare reală acolo unde locuiți ca membru al forumului așa cum este acum desemnat oficial! Și nu uitați, căutăm mereu noi membri care ni se alăture. Deci, dacă îți pasă de comunitatea ta și vrei să schimbi locul în care locuiești, te rugăm frumos să ne contactezi!

Join our Neighbourhood Forum! Să creăm împreună cea mai bună versiune a cartierului! Alătură-te forumului pentru vecini

‫ئەتوانیت‬،،‫با پێکەوە باشرتین جۆری نەیبەوود دروست کەین بەیەکەوە‬ . ‫بەشداری نەیبەوود بکەیت‬ We’re collaborating with local people to develop a Neighbourhood Forum and an official document called a Neighbourhood Plan, to give the community direct power to make real change for your neighbourhood and have a say in its development. You’ll be able to have a say in what new buildings will look like, what types of shops you want, green spaces, historic buildings and more. No experience is needed! What’s most important is that we have a forum of residents and people who put your Neighbourhood’s best interests first. What are the Forum member types? Active Member An active member is someone who wants to be more hands on with their role and you will be a core member of creating the Neighbourhood Plan, its meetings and activities. There will be the potential to get stuck into the community in other ways too! • Attend one Neighbourhood Forum meeting each month • Working with local council, councillors, local businesses owners and organisations to develop positive and resident-focused relationships • Receive updates on proposed planning in the area • Decision making / submitting ideas and proposals for Mailing List Members to vote on • Representing your Neighbourhood and Mailing List Members • Access to training, workshops and activities that will help develop knowledge of Neighbourhood Planning and development • To apply and secure additional funding as a Neighbourhood Forum to develop your community and area in addition to the Neighbourhood Plan • More defined roles available include secretary and treasurer of the Neighbourhood Forum

Mailing List Member A mailing list member is someone who wants to keep updated about the Neighbourhood Forum by email or post, who will be invited to meetings and attend them occasionally, and who will have a say in documentation and ideas that have been put forward by core members. • Attend one Neighbourhood Forum meeting every three months • Vote and have a say on proposed ideas by the Active Members • Get involved with occasional causes or projects as desired • Receive Neighbourhood Forum and Plan updates by post or email • Take part in skill building workshops and activities This zine was written by some members of your Neighbourhood Forum. What happens now we have our own Forum?

Fiind desemnat ca forum de cartier înseamnă, de asemenea, că forumul va fi consultat cu privire la cererile de amenajare care sunt depuse în zonă.

The Mabgate, Lincoln Green and Burmantofts Neighbourhood Forum was designated on 8 October 2021. This designation lasts for 5 years and grants the forum the exclusive right to prepare the Neighbourhood Plan for Mabgate, Lincoln Green and Burmantofts.

Forumul va fi responsabil cu pregătirea planului de vecinătate pentru zonă, ghidarea planului prin procesele de consultare și implicare, examinare independentă și referendum.

Being designated as a Neighbourhood Forum also means the forum will be consulted on planning applications that are submitted within the area. The forum will be responsible for preparing the Neighbourhood Plan for the area, guiding the plan through the consultation and engagement, independent examination and referendum processes. The Forum may also identify local projects that are important to the community, and can work together with other local organisations to find funding and deliver them. Vesti bune! Looking Back... My Neighbourhood Summer School In August 2021 15 local young people aged 10-12 took part in a week-long summer school with East Street Arts exploring the subject of My Neighbourhood, and what the local area meant to them. The week included lots of fun, creative activities including clay, gardening, language exchanges, video, photography, map making and zine making, with some of the MLGB Neighbourhood Forum members leading sessions. And Burmantofts Senior Action members also joined in for a day which was great! Here are some of the things the young people liked, disliked and dreamed about for the area, all of which will feed into the MLGB Neighbourhood Plan: As a group we worked towards 3 key changes we’d like to see in the neighbourhood. These were: • A community centre: Helps people with disabilities, mental health, homelessness/housing/charity exchange/ free food • An amusement park: Under 5s go free, cheap/free tickets for others. A park, swimming pool, trampoline, anime ride. More accessible leisure activities/spaces. • A regular and extended Summer School Programme (with an environmental focus)

Mabgate Regeneration Framework - Call to Action “Do you live in and around Mabgate or have an interest in the area? We’d love to hear your views on what makes Mabgate great, what could be improved and what is important to you for the future of the area.” Leeds City Council is planning to co-produce – in collaboration with the local community, landowners, existing businesses, and all other interested parties – a regeneration framework that will lay out an action plan and shared set of ambitions for the future of Mabgate. This will aim to make sure that growth happening in Mabgate is inclusive, that people are put first in the delivery of new infrastructure, better connecting them to jobs and training while making sure arts and culture continue to thrive. Looking for a new direction? Have you lost your mojo? Want to discover the Creative You!? East Street Arts are excited to be opening their doors to adults from our local neighbourhood to get involved with an exciting new project, Creative You! We are offering a vibrant FREE 6 week course (one day per week) where you will: • • •

Work alongside professional artists to learn new creative skills e.g. Animation, Printmaking, digital skills and design. Receive one to one support to help you get back into employment or training. Access a work placement or volunteering experience.

NOTE: Help with travel and childcare costs are available. Refreshments will also be provided. If you are up for a new challenge, we would love to work with you. Come along and make new friends, learn new skills and discover your passion in a supportive environment. You don’t need prior art experience, all you need is a willingness to try something new!
