Introduction Higher Learning Institution is radically evolving the academic core business, governance, social responsibility and student experience. Digitalization presents university with a huge opportunity to innovate with new academic paradigms and governance operation process, and at the same time to protect university from becoming out of date. A university digital strategy is an abstract level plan that implements a new digital initiatives and technology to achieve more efficient academic processes and providing sustainable environment atmosphere to stake holders including the community. The successful digital strategy helps university meet meta dynamic academic requirements, differentiate from competitors and go globally.
UniSZA Digital Plan Aims The aims of UniSZA Digital Strategic Plan 2023 – 2030 is to create an ecosystem that provides teaching and learning opportunities and digital experiences that can increase productivity and competitiveness, able to be engineered on other ecosystems and its capability can be increased according to current needs and emerging technology
Vision Statement An open and accessible digital and physical environment that allows access to university services regardless of location, time or device. Services and infrastructure that are flexible and agile to enable and encourage the development and growth of the university.
Mission Statement Leverage the technology to drive growth, increase efficiency of university delivery system and enhance the stake holder experience with sustainability principle.
Strategic Objective Strategic objective is essential to any digital planning success because it provides a clear direction for implementation strategy for the university digital goals. Aligning the efforts of staffs, students, stake holders and university, providing decision making framework, measuring progress and success as well as prioritizing action program are the main components to be achieved through strategic objective principles. Five (5) strategic objective principles are being considered in UniSZA Digital Strategic Plan 2023 – 2030 which are create, apply, remove, provide and implement.
Strategic Objective CREATE open and flexible access to university digital services
APPLY responsive, intelligent and personalized self-service access technology on a 24/7 basis
REMOVE the physical constraints of location and time for digital services access
PROVIDE flexible, secured, reliable data, resources and agile services infrastructure that support the university operation
IMPLEMENT the systems that can manage, analyze the university for supporting decision making process
The Gaps The used of sustainable technology helps university creates new academic and governance business offering that can drive entire new streams of services. Strategic gaps will help digital strategy team to investigate university business discomposure points, threats and new emerging technologies that can be embedded into the university system. By understanding strategic gaps and resources required to address the needs, university can develop a budget plan that prioritizes investments to achieving long-terms goals. Budget allocation plan can be aligned with the university’s strategic priorities and lead more effective resource utilization and better outcomes.
