Saturday Evening contd… Every October Marlborough High Street is closed for the two Saturdays either side of 11th October for the Marlborough Mop Fair.

The Mop Fair was originally a hiring fair for agricultural workers seeking employment but now has become a funfair. The right of the town to close the road to hold the fair is set down in the Marlborough Charter. IN MARLBOROUGH: The coach takes you to, and collects you from, the coach parking space next to the Tourist Information point in Waitrose Car Park You must be on time for the return journey
