How to claim learning grants The purpose of this document is to explain how CITB claims work and how we can generate efficiencies and maximise opportunities to access claim funding. Divisions can use this funding to help support staff with further learning costs. This document will advise what are acceptable forms of evidence to use for a claim.
What is Grant Funding? The CITB Grants Scheme provides grants for employers in the construction industry to train their workers. Grants are paid for construction-related training or qualifications. Grants are paid after the training: Once a qualification is achieved After a course is completed After a period of apprenticeship attendance is completed
The current Grant Scheme year runs from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024. Grants are available to all CITB Registered employers for training or qualifications undertaken by their employees (including subcontractors). If you are claiming for subcontractors who are part of our CIS, Group Training team will need to know a list of names and division they are located so they can correctly allocate the funds upon receipt Please ask learners to supply a copy of their certificate or scan this in to send to

Apprenticeships – Level 2 and Above Click the link to check the list of Approved Apprenticeships We can receive a £3,500 achievement grant on successful completion of the full apprenticeship. If your apprentice has achieved in the 2022/2023 Grants Scheme year then our applications will need to be submitted by 30 June 2023 We must apply with a copy of either of the following (Send to

A copy of the apprenticeship achievement certificate or achievement notification email from the awarding body.
A copy of the End-Point Assessment (EPA) certificate or an achievement notification email from the EPA organisation.

Apprenticeship standard/framework completed
Date of achievement, issue or award

This not accepted because: This is not a construction industry course so CITB will not grant a claim
The below are not accepted because: NVQ Diplomas only advise CITB that the learner has completed the NVQ component of their apprenticeship not the full course
Long Qualifications Qualifications which take more than 1 year to achieve. These are not apprenticeships (MA, BA, HNC, HND, MSc etc.) Click the link to check the list of Long Qualifications We can receive a £1,875 achievement grant on successful completion of a long qualification. If your learner has achieved in the 2022/2023 Grants Scheme year then our applications will need to be submitted by 30 June 2023 We must apply with a copy of either of the following (Send to

An achievement notification email from the awarding body .
And must contain the following information: Learners name
The full qualification course title completed
Date of achievement, issue or award

Long Qualifications Certificate Example Acceptable Examples
Short Qualifications Qualifications which take less than 1 year to achieve
