Paws Around The Campus

Most of the people look at stray dogs as a danger. A stray dog will simply not bite unless it's been disturbed, or in pain. We have stray dogs in our campus, but will having friendly stray dogs around the campus prove that they won't cause any trouble? By developing a strong bond with them, the college students have come to think of these stray dogs as their pets. They frequently feed and take good care of them.. Over time, this can make the issue worse. There is a chance that someone will get bitten by a stray dog around our campus because every stray dog there isn't friendly. Moreover, They tend to bark and howl especially when there is a fight with other dogs which could be loud, disruptive and annoying for the students. There is no doubt that heading to college can be a stressful experience for students. After a long day of classes, when the students see a dog walk towards them with their biggly-wiggly tail this could bring down stress levels and release happy hormones. Having dogs around the campus can also help the students to stay healthy and active. Even a simple game of fetch with a ball or a stick can raise your heart rate and aid in calorie burning. Students can still view this free time as beneficial to their health even if they do not view it as adequate exercise. The stray-dogs are not, altogether, worthless animals. They don't bite unless provoked, ill or in pain. They are properly taken care of, and can be very useful in all possible ways.

Zoology freshers The Zoology Department organized Freshers for the first-year students of Zoology on 26 August 2022. The attendees assembled in the lower auditorium from 2:00 pm until the very end, that is, till 4:00 pm . The freshers party was to welcome the new students into our lovely campus where they could be encouraged to express themselves and build their self-confidence. It was a day where the seniors and juniors came together for the first time, to celebrate as a part of Parvatibai Chowgule College. Samaa Sapre, a student from the Zoology Department welcomed the first-year students with a sweet welcome speech followed by a melodious group song. In addition, the second-year Zoology students also organized games, spot prizes, and stand-up comedy to entertain the first-year students. The Freshers party was concluded by a second-year student who gave the vote of thanks.

Celebrating Hindi Diwas Every year on September 14, Hindi Diwas, also known as National Hindi Day, is observed to commemorate the day on which the Constituent Assembly established Hindi (written in Devanagari script), the country's official language. Here at Parvatibai Chowgule College, The Hindi Department organized Hindi Divas, a two day event from September 14 to 15, 2022, The attendees of the function were assembled in the lower auditorium from 1:30 pm until the very end, which was at 5:00 pm.

The event was set in motion by the two SY students from the Hindi Department, they went on to pleasantly welcome all the attendees and guests in the venue. Followed by a welcome dance performance by a first year student In addition, Pradeep Jatal, Head of the Hindi Department spoke about the importance of the Hindi language. Moreover, the first day of the event included essay writing, poetry, singing, and speech competition, and the second day included dance competition, antakshari(singing songs in alphabetical order) and price distribution.

The lecturers from the Hindi Department gave speeches on the importance of Hindi diwas. The event was concluded by a second year student of the Hindi Department, who gave the vote of thanks.

Open Mic Fridays, Duos, Duets, & Groups.

As usual, an open mic session was held, here at Parvatibai Chowgule College, on 7 October, 2022. The attendees were assembled in the C-202 Classroom from 2:30 pm until the very end of the session, which was at 4:45 pm. Several students came together to perform as duos, duets & groups. This session was all about group singing, where most of the students sang melodiously. Moreover, most of the SY students from the English department under the course creative writing performed duos poems. The English Department held a poetry session organized by its Club Carpe Diem(poets' and writers' club), a part of its departmental club-english tygers' club.

Al Akbar Restaurant Restaurants are important in each of our lives. A lot of us dine because we want to try different meals and flavours while breaking up our regular routine. So If you are a resident of South Goa, Margao-Navelim or happen to be in the city for some or the other reasons, in the evenings, you may be craving for something spicy or crispy, then do visit the Family Restaurant Al Akbar. It began in the year 2013 and till now spreads the same aromas. Moreover, it offers dishes of different cuisines. As you enter the restaurant, the decor is a stunning mix of red and white colors but the lighting is a bit dim. It is divided into two sections, you can either sit in the AC section or just in the normal one, but every table provides a clear view of the cash counter or the kitchen. It's a simple restaurant, not what you would expect from a fancy one. It is a fun relaxation spot for friends, families with kids and couples. Moreover, the restaurant offers services to cover couples, single people, as well as families.The best thing was the attentiveness of the waiters. The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering dishes but out of all that the restaurant is most famous for its three most loved food items, the spicy chicken shawarma, crispy chicken and their briyani. In addition, they also served different fresh juices and shakes but most of the people prefer their avocado shake. Overall, the prices are very affordable and reasonable To sum up, the restaurant is a good place to hangout with your family and friends. Moreover, they don't take the time to make the table ready, the food is good, affordable, and the staff is decent.
