“Pop-in” Activities

YOUTH EVENTS Kid’s Club

Tuesday and Thursday Evenings, throughout the entire Summer 5:00-9:00pm Children up to 12 years of age are invited to Kid’s Club every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the Summer while Parents or Grandparents dine at the Club. We will provide a kid friendly meal, a craft and or activity, science experiments, prizes, games, movies, and more! Reservations are required to ensure the safety of the Children.

Save The Date... CLC WATER WARS! Compete in a wide variety of games and competitions amongst other CLC Kids. Get ready to get SOAKED and have lots of fun! Sunday, August 21st

SWIM LESSONS Group Lessons

$60 per session, per Child Our well-trained Swim Instructors are enthusiastic and fun teachers for kids of all ages and swim ability! Private lessons are scheduled to fit the individual members’ needs while group lessons are broken down into two, four week sessions. Each session includes 8 lessons. Please see our Lifeguard Staff for more information! June Session: June 6th - June 30th July Session: July 6th - July 28th

Beginner: 1:30-2:10PM (Ages 4 and up) May have little to no experience with swimming. This group will focus on becoming comfortable putting their face in the water, kicking, and some swimming technique with the assistance of flotation devices. Intermediate: 2:15-2:55PM Should be able to swim a quarter the length of the pool and be comfortable submerging face and holding breath. This age group will focus on building endurance, and learning how to tread water, and some stroke technique. Advanced: 2:15-2:55PM Should be able to swim the full length of the pool in good form and be proficient in treading water. This group will continue to build endurance and improve stroke technique.

Private Lessons

$40 per session Private Lessons are great to work with children in a one-on-one 30-minute session based on his/her specific needs. Scheduled between the instructor and the Member.

SWIM TEAM The Congress Lake Swim Team is a summer-long experience for swimmers of all ages. Our number one priority is to make sure that the CLC kids have fun and display good sportsmanship throughout the summer! We welcome all CLC kids from ages 4-18 to practice and participate in inter-club meets, Fun Fridays, the Swim Team Field Trip, and more! • Ages 6 and under (Beginner) will learn how to properly swim backstroke and freestyle while building the endurance to swim at least one length of the pool. • Ages 7-10 (Intermediate) will learn and continue to improve all four strokes (Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, and Freestyle) and continue to build endurance. • Ages 11 and up (Advanced) will focus on building endurance and speed in all of the strokes while continuing to perfect technique.

Practice Schedule

Practices begin Monday, June 6th • Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays o Advanced: from 9:00-10:00AM o Beginner/Intermediate: from 10:15-11:15AM • Fridays o All Ages from 10:00-11:00AM o Optional Fun days with games and treats

JUNIOR GOLF $100 per child for the entire Summer Session Newbies (Suggested ages 4-5)

Wednesdays 11:10-11:40am This group is for juniors just starting to play golf or have been playing for less than 1 year. Along with golf basics, players are introduced to additional developmental activities. SNAG, kid safe golf equipment, will be used.

Rookies (Suggested ages 5-6)

Wednesdays 10:20-11:00am This group is for juniors with little experience with golf or have been playing for less than 2 years. The main goal for this group is to install solid fundamentals while also holding their interest and attention with fun and purposeful games. SNAG, kid safe golf equipment, will be used.

Intermediate Juniors (Suggested ages 7-10) Wednesdays 9:20-10:10am These junior golfers have played golf for 2 or more years. Players have some knowledge of the game, rules, and etiquette. They should be able to play 3-6 holes comfortably.

Advanced (Suggested ages 11-15)

Wednesdays 8:00-9:10am These junior golfers have at least an intermediate knowledge of the game, etiquette, and how to care for the golf course. They should be able to play 9-18 holes with minimal supervision and in a timely manner.

Sunday Play Days

These sessions will be spent on the course from 4:00-6:00PM. Parents and grandparents can begin making tee times on ForeTees one week in advance. These days will also be used as Bag Tag Test Days for those juniors that would like to try and become Bag Tag Certified.

EXPERT SERIES Expert Series (Suggested ages 14-18)

Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00-11:00AM Starting Tuesday, June 7th $200 per child for the entire Summer Session This is a competitive series for juniors to ready themselves for Junior Tournaments, High School Golf, and Collegiate Golf. During the Golf Course days (Tuesdays) we ask that players are ready to tee off at 9:00AM so please arrive early if you would like to warm up beforehand. We will split players into groups and have them compete against one another as they would in a high school or college match. During the Practice Facility days (Thursdays) we will go over fitness, putting, short game, irons, woods, and mental. Students will be put through an evaluation at the beginning and end of the season to see where they excel and what needs improvement. Note: There may be some competitive juniors who are younger than the above age group looking to elevate their game. This may be a good group for some of those who would get more out of working around other expert players. Equipment & Techniques Used • FlightScope, Video Analysis, TPI Evaluations, & SuperSpeed Golf

Junior Bag Tag Program

This program gives junior golfers (13 and under) the opportunity to play the golf course without adult supervision at specified times. To qualify for this privilege the junior golfer must: • Pass a written test on the USGA Rules of Golf and Course Etiquette, available the last week of Junior Golf program. • Pass a playing ability test - capable of a score of 60 or less from the tees of the junior’s choosing.

JUNIOR TENNIS Lots of games and activities will allow children to become familiar with basic tennis fundamentals, develop eye-hand coordination, and improve movement. Use of QuickStart nets and balls will increase success and fun. Program begins June 7th!

Pee Wees (Suggested ages 4-7)

• Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:30am-9:00am • Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 11:45am-12:15pm • $7 for each 1/2 hour session

Rising Stars (Suggested ages 7-9) • Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00am-10:00am

• $10 for each 1 hour session

All Stars (Suggested ages 9+)

JUNIOR TENNIS Junior Clinic (Ages 9 & Up)

Players will learn and have fun with tennis through a large variety of games and some match play. Great Option for Families with kids of different ages and playing abilities! Clinic begins June 7th.

• Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays 12:30-1:45pm • $12 for each 1 hour and 15 minute session.

Friday Match Play vs. other CLC Kiddo’s:

Advanced: 11:00am-12:30pm offered on Fridays. June 10th, 24th, July 8th, and July 22nd Intermediate: 11:30am-12:30pm offered on Fridays. June 17th, July 1st, July 15th... $10 for either a 1 hour session or 1.5 hour session.

Hava Bailey Head Swim Coach: Hava is from Kent, Ohio and just finished up her first year studying pre-health at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. Hava has been swimming competitively since she was in elementary school, and has continued her swimming career on the varsity women’s team at her university. In previous years, she has worked as a Head Lifeguard as well as a Swim Instructor at Silver Lake Country Club. She has also volunteered to help coach at swim clinics for the Special Olympics team, as well as the 6th grade introductory swim program in her local school district. Garrett Marshall Pool Manager: Garrett is joining us as our Pool Manager after being apart of our Life Guard Staff for the past 2 years. He is attending the University of Akron and studying Cyber Security. He is excited for the Summer to start!
