THE GIFT OF LOVE

1 CORINTHIANS 13:1-13 REV. CHARLIE WILFONG

“Love means never having to say you’re sorry.”—Love Story, 1970. Every generation defines love a little differently and in its style. Does love mean enduring every hardship? Forgiving every wrong? Does love mean constantly demonstrating approval? Human beings seem to need to set boundaries for their health and protection. So, how does God have “limitless love”? It’s very difficult for us to comprehend an expansive and spacious love. And not only do we claim that God has this kind of love, but we also claim that limitless love is the essence of who God is.

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY

WINTER FOOD DRIVE

If you’ve ever felt like you can’t get in control of your money, you’re not alone. You’d be surprised how many people you know are struggling just like you. But it’s time for that struggle to end—starting when you take a Financial Peace University class. In nine lessons, you’ll learn biblical and commonsense ways of handling money.

Even though Plainfield UMC has been collecting and delivering food each week in recent months, the Mission Committee planned a special food drive for January, to help emphasize the needs of the local area food pantries during this time of thanksgiving.

On January 29, grocery bags with a list of needed items were available after the 8:45 Class begins on Wednesday, March 1, at 6:30 and 10:00 a.m. worship services. Deliveries of the collected donations will happen in the p.m. You can sign up at pumc.org/FPU! weeks of February 4 and 11. Contact Stephanie Hughes at shughes@ pumc.org for special pricing on Financial If you cannot make it to the grocery store, monetary donations will be gratefully Peace University or any questions. accepted. Your help to provide food for hungry people is greatly appreciated.
