RESEARCH THRUSTS AND OBJECTIVES
The Cebu Technological University research programs support the generation, dissemination, diffusion and promotion of multidisciplinary and appropriate agriculture, fishery, forestry and natural resources, trade and industrial technologies, basic services and education, engineering, arts and social sciences to uplift the general well-being of the people. The University aims to accomplish the following objectives:
1. Develop a quality research-based knowledge to improve agriculture, fishery, forestry and natural resources, trade and industrial technologies, basic services and teacher education, engineering technologies, arts and social sciences and other relevant thrusts. 2. Increase and sustain the generation and transfer of ecologicallysound research outputs. 3. Strengthen linkages with partner institutions, organizations and communities through dissemination and technology transfer. 4. Establish and strengthen collaboration with local, national and international research institutions and organizations.
Research and Development Focus Basic, developmental, applied multidisciplinary researches in agricultures, fishery, forestry and natural resources, trade and industrial technologies, basic services and education, engineering and social sciences and on other relevant thrusts for rural and urban development in consonance with the priorities of the Philippine Government such as but not limited to DOST, CHED and DA-BAR, and of other organizations both local and foreign.

By the end of 2024, CTU will be globally recognized for its quality. Specifically, it will: • Obtain a Philippine university system status with a CHED SUC Level V recognition or equivalent; • Be ranked among the Top 10 Universities in the Philippines; • Be included in the list of internationally recognized ranking of universities (including Quacquarelli Symonds, Times Higher Education, Shanghai University Ranking, World University Impact Rankings); • Pursue efforts to pave way for the development of new programs (including natural sciences and Doctor of Medicine) and Transnational Higher Education; • Achieve world-class performance and excellence in total quality management; and • Lead innovations in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
