Se produce como consecuencia de una fricción en una zona determinada del pie, por el uso de calzado demasiado estrecho o nuevo. La piel presenta un color rojizo e irritada y está más sensible frente a cualquier agente externo.

Es la inflamación del tendón de un músculo, que suele asociarse, casi siempre, a la inflamación de la vaina sinovial que lo rodea (tenosinovitis). Un caso particular es la inflamación del Tendón de Aquiles. Es el tendón más largo localizado en la pierna, cuya inflamación es más frecuente en deportistas y en personas con mucha actividad.
