DECEMBER 4, 2022 CLASSIC WORSHIP | 8:45 & 10:00 A.M.

PREPARE WITH FAITH LUKE 1:13, 18-25 REV. CHARLIE WILFONG

It happens all the time. The deal seems too good to be true, especially during the holidays. The product seems like it cannot possibly live up to the hype. The low price cannot possibly bring the product as advertised. There has to be a catch. We have learned (or you soon will) that not every promise, claim, or offer can be trusted. It seems to be human nature. Since the beginning of international negotiations and treaties, the common practice is “trust but verify.” What about the promises of God? Many of us struggle to rely on what the Bible says God will fulfill for us. “If only God would visit me and say it plainly, out loud.” God does exactly that for the priest Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist. God shows up through an angel with the promise that he and his wife, Elizabeth, will finally have a child. And still, Zechariah has his doubts. It’s a lesson about trusting God. A lesson about preparing for the ministry of Jesus Christ in your life.
