Baptisms: Celebrated on the first Sunday of the month at 12:30 or 3:00pm. Parents should call the rectory at least four weeks in advance, and must attend instructions, which are held on the third Thursday of the month. Church Law requires that only Catholics in good standing are eligible to be Godparents. No Baptisms will be scheduled during Lent. Anointing of the Sick: We offer this sacrament to those who are seriously ill, at home or in the hospital. We urge you to contact the office before someone goes to the hospital for an operation. (A priest may not be available later) Ministry of the Sick: Holy Communion will be brought to the sick, upon request. The bedridden or chronically ill can be placed on the “Eucharistic Ministers” visitation schedule. Wedding: Engaged couples must make arrangements in person, at the office at least six months in advance. Parish Membership: We welcome all new members to our parish. Please register at the office, by phone or in person. Registration forms are available at the entrances to the Churches. Also, please notify the office if your address has changed or if you would like to be added to the weekly envelope system.
Saint Christopher and Saint Patrick Collections Collections are not available. Will be posted in next week’s bulletin. Rectory & Office Renovation Project – So far we have had very little response to our plea to parishioners to support the rectory and parish office upgrading at our Buchanan location. The renovations needed for both the rectory and the parish office are extensive therefore expensive. If you contribute $1,000.00 or more your name will be inscribed on a plaque and placed in our new offices. Thus far some parishioners have donated a total of over $10,000.00. All donation amounts are welcomed and appreciated, large or small. If you have any suggestions for fundraising events or organizations or businesses that might like to help with this project, please speak to Fr. George. As always your continued support of and sacrifice for our parish is appreciated and acknowledged. If you have any questions, please call Fr. George (914-737-0635) or Bob Hemsing (914-2315601) or Luis Pasato (914-844-7727). Thank you for your prayerful consideration of this request.

He would like to interact with the parishioners especially regarding the pastoral care and administration of the merged parish. Though the merging process was difficult and extremely demanding we made significant improvements in the pastoral care and administration of our newly established parish. His Eminence, Cardinal Dolan, would celebrate the 5 PM Saturday mass at the Buchanan location followed by a reception in the parish hall. There will be no 5 PM Saturday mass at the Verplanck location on Saturday, December 10. The Cardinal would prefer to meet the parishioners during the reception. Please plan to meet our Archbishop in person at our parish. Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is Thursday, December 8th. It is a Holy Day of Obligation for all Catholics in the United States. FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT First Reading: Isaiah 2: 1-5 The words of Isaiah urge all people to forsake war and to live in peace forever. The tone reaches a climax in the words, “One nation shall not raise the sword against another, nor shall they train for war again.” Second Reading: Romans 13:11-14 Paul invites us to put away all the things of darkness and sin and to prepare for the coming of Christ. Gospel: Matthew 24:37-44 A comparison is made between the destruction caused by the flood in Noah’s time and the need to be prepared for the second coming of Christ. “You must be prepared in the same way. The Son of Man is coming at the time you least expect it.”
