The future of urban living THE LINE is a civilizational revolution that puts humans first, providing an unprecedented urban-living experience while preserving the surrounding nature. It redefines the concept of urban development and what cities of the future should look like. The designs of THE LINE embody how urban communities will be in the future in an environment free from roads, cars and emissions. It will run on 100% renewable energy and prioritize people’s health and well-being over transportation and infrastructure as in traditional cities. It puts nature ahead of development and will contribute to preserving 95% of NEOM’s land. THE LINE offers a new approach to urban design: The idea of layering city functions vertically while giving people the possibility of moving seamlessly in three dimensions (up, down or across) to access them is a concept referred to as Zero Gravity Urbanism. Different from just tall buildings, this concept layers public parks and pedestrian areas, schools, homes and places for work, so that one can move effortlessly to reach all daily needs within five minutes. THE LINE will eventually accommodate 9 million people and will be built on a footprint of just 34 square kilometers. Its ideal all-year-round climate will ensure that residents can enjoy the surrounding nature.

NEOM will be home to a high-tech aquaculture park, including a state-of-the-art hatchery & breeding center; land-based and seabased production systems using the best technologies of today and tomorrow; novel and more sustainable feed-production infrastructure; and advanced seafood-processing facilities. This project will relieve pressure on our local marine environment and support regenerative food security for NEOM and Saudi Arabia. Providing world-leading holistic nutrition services to meet every individual’s unique needs. The impact of various types of food on human health differs due to multiple factors. Despite the many advances in science and technology, for Personalized Nutrition to be genuinely disruptive and break the paradigm of traditional models, an end-to-end, fully integrated approach is needed. NEOM plans to create a first-of-its-kind holistic Personalized Nutrition ecosystem to empower people to meet their individual nutritional needs and adopt a healthier lifestyle, with food at its heart. With an evidence-based approach, NEOM will provide all its residents and visitors with the infrastructure, information, products, and services they need to make better food choices on a dynamic and seamless consumer journey. Flavio has extensive experience in the agrifood value chain, having worked on the production side leading the commercial area of a big cooperative in Almeria, Spain, and on the operational side as head of global operations for GLOBAL G.A.P., Germany, for nearly a decade. In the past five years, he has particularly focused on defining and delivering corporate sustainability as part of growth strategies. He is a qualified corporate lawyer with an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid.

George has 30 years’ industry experience including positions at Pfizer, Monsanto, and Coca-Cola. He holds a PhD in chemistry and has published 80+ scientific papers and authored two books. In 2004, George co-founded The Metabolomic Society, which now has 1000+ members worldwide.

Tim has worked in Australian and Asian aquaculture, seafood, and related industries for over 30 years, previously working for global companies such as Phillips Foods Inc, Cleanseas Tuna Ltd, PFG-Group Pty Ltd, Ionics Watertec Pty Ltd and Atlantis Resources Pty Ltd.
