INTERACTIVE GAME FOR CHILDREN LIBRARY "SAFARI EXPLORATION: BE SEEN or BE NOBODY"

OBJECTIVES To develop thinking skills and abilities that help them to succeed in their future, including in language learning. To aid children in acquiring a skill as they play or to help them learn about specific topics, concepts, or developmental milestones. Let children practise what they know, and also what they do not. Train them to experiment through trial and error, find solutions to problems, work out the best strategies, and build new confidence and skills.

TABLE OF CONTENT ACTIVITY 1

ALPHABET HUNT Children have to choose one letter for each item they choose regardless of whether they choose a book or a poster board, only one letter will be counted for the item.

ACTIVITY 2

ANIMAL GUESSING Children have to identify the hidden animals based on the movements they make. When the movement is done, they have to figure out what the animal is.

ACTIVITY 3

ANIMAL MASK This game is played using masks that children have designed and coloured. The goal of this game is to expose children to the diversity of animals on Earth.

ALPHABET HUNT INSTRUCTIONS: Explain to the children that his or her task is to find 26 different alphabet letters. They may only use one letter per item. Therefore, if they pick up a book, they can only choose one letter from it. Or, if they choose a poster board, they may only use one letter from it. The letter chart that facilitators created is intended to assist participants keep track of which letters they have identified and which letters they still need to locate. Request that the children place a sticker beneath each letter as they find it. The goal is to find every letter of the alphabet.

Ok, firstly you have to find 26 different alphabet letters. You can either choose a letter from book or poster board

HOW TO PLAY:

After you found a letter, come to me to get the sticker

This is the sticker that you have to place beneath each letter that you have found. After completed all 26 letters, you can come and I will give you star stamp

ANIMAL GUESSING INSTRUCTIONS: Ask that each children choose one flashcard. Facilitators will provide clues such as movements to portray the animal. Facilitators could, for instance, hop like kangaroos or crawl like spiders. Encourage the children to try and identify the animal.

HOW TO PLAY:

Children have to raise hand to give the identify of the animal.

ANIMAL MASK INSTRUCTIONS: The facilitators will give one A4 size manila card to each children participant. Help the children draw a large circle on the paper, big enough to cover their face. Then, ask the children to decorate the mask and draw an animal face. Help them to cut out the mask, making sure the eyes are positioned so that they will be able to see. Give them the hole punch and ask them to punch one hole on either side of the mask. Tie yarn or string through the holes to fit the mask to their face.

HOW TO PLAY: Draw a large circle on the paper

The facilitator helps to cut the paper that the children have drawn Ask children to decorate their mask

Make hole using hole punch or any sharp object Tie the hole that has been made using string or ribbon
