Facilities by ADF PLC started life as Andy Dixon Facilities, a one-man mission to create a high-quality production facilities company.

Founder Andy Dixon begun working in the film and television industry by default, but quickly became familiar with the needs of production companies. After working with several other facilities providers, he felt that there was a gap in the market for a better level of service. A rather mature bus became his first diner, followed by a bijou honeywagon hand-rollered in battleship grey by Andy himself. They were the pride of his fleet – which grew along with demand, as word started to spread.

Next, experienced media logistics expert Steve Haines joined the venture, which led to the introduction of articulated trailers and bespoke vehicle fit-outs to meet customer requirements, along with an expanding team. It wasn’t long before ADF was supplying network TV dramas and small film projects across Wales, then further throughout the UK and Europe.

Fast forward thirty years, Facilities by ADF is now a publicly listed company, providing a 24-hour, seven days-a-week operation and has a fleet of over 600 high quality location vehicles, capable of servicing 20 large productions at any one time. Our experienced teams are based in our head office in Pencoed (Bridgend), Brynmenyn Factory and Operational Base in Longcross (Surrey), with offices in Great Point Seren Studios (Cardiff), Sharp Project (Manchester) and Pinewood Studios (Slough).

Since inception, ADF has invested both time and money into continual improvements and is committed to do so for the foreseeable future, through organic growth as well as acquisitions. The rewards have been an increase in market share, growth of our client base, repeat business and enthusiastic recommendations, along with a reinforcement of our strong industry reputation for consistently delivering a high-quality service. They’re also sensibly sized, with up to 60 seats; and are robustly designed by our workshop team, which means they easily withstand wear and tear from adverse weather conditions and muddy boots.

We can supply the industry standard, which contains two, four, six or ten cubicles with access options, as well solar-powered units which operate self-sufficiently using power from roof-mounted solar panels, which supply lighting.
