Story Transcript
The Story It was two days before Christmas and there was great excitement in the air at Aunt Nan’s house! Each year she had a special holiday party for all of the children the she knew! Aunt Nan and the children would bake cookies, wrap gifts and make hand-made gifts. The most exciting part of Aunt Nan’s party was that each time an ornament was placed upon the tree, the ornaments would come to life and dance for the children! At the end of the festive evening, when all of the children were ready for bed, the oldest child would be given a large magical star to place on top of the tree. After the star was placed high upon the tree, the oldest would make a December wish. This December, Rose was the oldest child at the party. She could not wait to have the opportunity to make a December wish. As Rose hung the star upon the tree top and made her wish, a Stardust Fairy appeared. The Stardust Fairy sprinkled magic star dust as she circled around Rose. After the Stardust Fairy completed her spins, Rose found herself in the middle of an abandoned train yard full of runaway toys. This was not what Rose wished for! Rose was confused and frustrated and did not know how to return home. The runaway toys introduced themselves to Rose and explained why they ran away from Santa’s Workshop. Rose became fond of the toys, except for one trouble making Pirate Toy. The Pirate Toy bullied the other toys and intimidated them to follow his aggressive leadership. Rose became determined to persuade the runaway toys to return to Santa’s Workshop so they could be given to children all over the world and be loved and cared for. At first Rose did not think that her December wish had been granted, but in the end, Rose understood that her wish had indeed been granted in a unique and wonderful way!
