Introduction "The farmer has to be an optimist or he wouldn't still be a farmer."

India is an agriculture country. Your prosperity depends upon your agriculture productions. For achieving this, the Indian farmer’s contribution is very vital. India, as a matter of fact, is a land of farmers. Nearly, 75% of our population lives in villages. Hello everyone !!! This is Balkirat Singh, a farmer, a struggler and a true patriot is going to share my life struggle with you all. I live in a small village of Punjab name Morinda. I live a very simple life in a mud house with my family.

Life style

My property comprises of few bulls, a plough share and few acres of land. Throughout the year, I remain busy in tilling or ploughing the fields, sowing seeds and reaping the crops, etc. I get up early in the morning. Then, I take my bulls and plough or tractors and go to the field where I plough the field for hours. Mainly, I grow seeds like wheat, rice and pulses. I buy HVY seeds for my land so that it remains fertile every year.

Life Struggles

Here are some of my struggles that I face every year .  Weather problems. Climatic conditions  Unavailability of HVY seeds  Lacking of Modern Equipment  Irrigation Problems  Dealing with dealers and other traders

 Land issues  Lack of Storage facilities

 And the most important is the 3 laws which were made by the Government. I will tell you the struggles which not only I, but all the farmers faced after these 3 laws were proposed.

 I was not able to sell my products at a safer place.  After the end of the APMC mandis, I will be forced to sell the crop to corporate companies at one-and-a-half price.  I will be exposed to the risk of fraud due to the entry of the people of license or registration.  My products will be going from one place to another and the sellers will be selling them in higher prices. This is a loss for me and benefit for the corporate.  Due to the abolition of the mandi system, there will be no purchase of crops on MSP.

I and all the farmers of the world protested again these laws for approximately 1 and a half years. As a result, we won the battle. Farming is such a profession where effort and labour are required. Farmers are the assets of our country. They should be treated like a soldier of the nation as responsible citizens of the country. We have to come forward to save the farmers because we can’t survive without them.
