/ editor’s briefing / PUBLISHER EDITOR IN CHIEF EXECUTIVE EDITOR ONLINE CHIEF EDITOR

When I joined Airways back in 2015, I could never have imagined the changes we would see over the following seven years. In the world, with the COVID-19 pandemic leading the scene. In aviation, with the Boeing crisis, the CSeries program meltdown, and several mergers and acquisitions in the airline and aircraft leasing EXVLQHVV,QWKHRI¿FHZLWKRXUFRUH team moving away, getting married, and having babies (and puppies!). And, of course, in publishing. The heart of Airways has always been our monthly print magazine. At a time when print is being repeatedly declared dead, we persist in believing that there are other people like us out there, people who still revel in thick paper and sweet-smelling ink—not to mention thoughtful long-form journalism and stunning commercial aviation stories that take more than a couple of hours and a smartphone camera to crank out. Of course, for all our love of print, we are also a bunch of avgeeks with a serious scrolling habit, and we embrace and welcome the changes revolutionizing media. Therefore, I am pleased to announce the launch of a new website—a hybrid that combines the beauty, coherence, and perspective of a monthly print magazine with the timeliness, accessibility, and interactivity of life online. We hope you agree when visiting www.airwaysmag.com. And, because Airways remains 100% independent, all of our contributors are free to be their full, individual, and talented selves. We consider it to be our mission to deliver, month after month, a JOREDOUHYLHZRIFRPPHUFLDOÀLJKWMXVWDVRXUODWHIRXQGHU-RKQ Wegg envisioned. So, let us know what you think on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook (or you can email me directly to [email protected]). Tell us what you love, tell us what you hate, and tell us how we can continue to make this your favorite aviation magazine. Clear skies!
