Payment Address for Pelican Preserve Town Center

Reservations for events may be made online by logging in to the Residents website and clicking on the Club Calendar. If you are making reservations for a group, please include all names in your party. For your convenience, the online reservation window has a list of Resident names on the rightside. Simply type in the last name of the Resident you wish to add to the reservation and click their name to add. A confirmation email will automatically be sent to all those in your party. Names of guests and/or special requests may be entered in the “Comment” box in the online reservation window for each event.

All payments to Pelican Preserve Town Center should be mailed to: Pelican Preserve Town Center, Dept# 3301, P.O. Box 310754, Boca Raton, FL 33431-0754. This change is for the Pelican Preserve Town Center only, not Pelican Preserve Golf Club. If you are using bill pay through your bank, please advise your bank of the new address to ensure your payments go to the correct address. New remittance envelopes are enclosed with your statements if you wish to pay by check. If you are currently paying online through the Town Center website, no changes need to be made.

2014 Pelican Preserve Dog Tags Now Available If you are interested in utilizing the dog park, you must register your dog at the Town Center’s Administrative Office. Once your dog is registered, we will issue a special tag for your dog and provide you with the gate code. You are welcome to complete the required forms at home and bring them to the Office. Forms may be found in the Administrative Office and on the Pelican Preserve website under Forms and Documents. Please note that the Dog Park will be closed the first Monday of every month for routine maintenance.

2014 Annual Amenities Survey Pelican Preserve Golf Club ............................................... March 27 – April 25 Pelican Preserve Town Center ....................................................April 3 – May 2 The 2014 Annual Amenities Survey is available online and may be completed at www.wci-club-survey. com. In order to gain a clear understanding of individual facilities, we are separating surveys at Pelican Preserve Golf Club and Pelican Preserve Town Center. Please limit your comments to the services and Staff of each specific survey. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and both the primary and secondary extension on the membership account may complete the survey. This small investment of your time will provide your Club with an invaluable amount of information. Upon completion of the survey, you will be entered into a drawing for a $250 Pelican Preserve gift card. There will be one winner from each Club. Thank you in advance for taking the time to provide us with your feedback!

The Resident making reservation will be charged for all in their party, unless names are included at the time of reservation. You may also make reservations by calling Soleil Health & Fitness at (239) 985-1751. Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance for all events or you will be charged for the event where applicable. Securitas will be checking Residents and guests for wristband and ID cards on a more frequent basis. Please remember to bring your Resident wristbands or ID cards with you to the outdoor pool and various areas at the Town Center. If you are in need of a wristband, please inquire with the Staff at Soleil. Guest wristbands may be picked up at the Fitness Center as well.

You may also log in to the Resident website to update your information which is automatically routed to the Administrative Office upon update! Please be sure to update: • Address and Phone Numbers • Birthday so you can be a part of the Birthday Club at Destinations • Emergency Contact Form (which can be updated by filling out a form at Soleil). The emergency contact information is kept on file in the event we need to contact someone for you. Pelican Preserve Vehicle Storage Lot All vehicles parked in the Pelican Preserve storage lot must be registered with the Town Center Administrative Office. To register your vehicle, please contact Debbie Bill in the Town Center Administrative Office at (239) 985-1770. Any unregistered vehicle in the Pelican Preserve storage lot will be towed at the owner’s expense. Residents returning from the North who are planning to store vehicles and trailers in the storage lot over the winter should contact Debbie Bill in the Town Center Administrative Office so she may update the storage lot records. Friendly Reminders: • All guests must check in at the Fitness Center to obtain temporary wristbands before using the outdoor pool. Guests using the Fitness Center must check in at the Front Desk and pay a guest fee. • Please refrain from smoking in the outdoor pool area and the eating area by Frescos. Smoking areas are located

outside the pool fence. • No glass containers are allowed in the pool areas. • Children under 12 years old are not allowed in the spa per the Lee County Health Department. • During inclement weather please alert the staff in the Fitness Center to lower umbrellas at the Outdoor Pool to prevent damage. • Please adhere to posted speed limits throughout Pelican Preserve and yield to pedestrians in crosswalks. • Golf course and cart paths are for golfers only. Please do not use the golf course or cart paths to jog, run, walk or walk your dog. This includes early morning and evening hours. • For safety reasons, please do not walk/run in the middle of the streets.

While Out and About at Pelican Preserve:

Alligators have been seen along the sidewalk near the hedges on Pelican Preserve Boulevard and will be active over the next several months as they roam from pond to pond. Please use caution when walking in the dark and bring a flashlight with you when walking at night.

• Please do not ride bikes on the sidewalks. Use the bike lanes on Pelican Preserve Boulevard. When riding on the road, ride with the flow of traffic, not against it. Don’t forget your helmet! • When walking in the community, please use the sidewalks. • Help us maintain the beauty in our natural areas and please properly dispose of dog waste. Do not throw waste bags in the Preserve area. • Please do not feed the wildlife in the Preserve or in your neighborhoods. This includes birds and alligators. • For safety reasons, please do not walk/run in the middle of the streets. We encourage Pelican Preserve Residents to wear name tags to Pelican Preserve events, functions and get-togethers. Now is a great time to order a name tag! To order your name tag, please contact Beverly Hoffmann at (239) 313-6332 or via email at ronbevhoffmann@ comcast.net or Mary Jo Nardello at (239) 225-6733 or via email at [email protected]. Your name and neighborhood will be printed on the name tag. The color of your name tag will be specific to your neighborhood. The cost for each name tag is $8.50 and payment is due at the time of ordering.

LGA 2014-2015 Season Membership Confirmation

Please let us know if you will renew your LGA membership for the coming season by indicating such in the alphabetized binder located on the desk outside the locker rooms, or email Sharon Presutti at [email protected] with your intentions regarding LGA membership next season. Additionally, please submit your dues before you head north for the summer, to ensure you will be included in the 20142015 Membership Directory, which is printed in September. Dues will remain $40. Make your check payable to Pelican Preserve LGA and place it in the wooden box located on the desk outside the locker rooms.

The ladies earned top points for Pelican Preserve at Highland Woods:

Fran Auker, Annemarie Kunz, Sandy Finley, Vicki Foster, Hee Soo Kim, Rayka Mandaric, and Wanda Michmerhuizen. LGA Non-Season Play The LGA will continue to have tee times through the summer months. Effective May 1, the Golf Shop will coordinate a game whenever eight or more ladies register to play. Chipin competitions will not take place in the off-season.

New Procedures

Due to the popularity of the Friday Men’s Day program, and to better accommodate everyone, the registration format has been changed. There will be two sessions 1:00pm and 3:00pm. The 3:00pm matches may start earlier than 3:00pm depending on court availability. Participants may call on Wednesday at 7:00am or email at 7:00am. The first 24 to register will play at 1:00pm. Anyone after that will play at 3:00pm. Anyone after that will play at 3:00pm.

Walkers meet outside the fitness center. Enjoy a three-mile walk, and coffee and conversation on the Promenade following the walk.

All levels included and beginners are welcome! Meet at the fitness center and walk for 45 minutes at a moderate pace. No golf carts, bikes, pogo sticks, etc. Coffee and conversation (optional) after walking.

Wellness Series Programs & Presentations

Sharing Healthy Habits Second Wednesday of the month at 2:00pm in the Pelican Lounge April 9 Join us for a casual monthly get-together to share recipes, experiences and advice on healthy living. This support group has open discussion on healthy lifestyle skills and practices. Pelican Preserve Meditation Group Thursday • 4:00-5:00pm $5 per class Each class is designed for beginning and experienced meditators. All are welcome weekly to the Town Center classroom upstairs in the Fitness Center. Meditation is a practice in which a person trains the mind to yield a state of consciousness, peace and/or wisdom. There is abundant research indicating the many benefits of meditation, related to mood states, blood pressure, relaxation, etc. Leader Rich Byrne, D.Min., is a Pelican Preserve Resident and an Interfaith Minister who had

35 years of experience in leading Buddhist-inspired Mindfulness groups. Please register to attend by calling Soleil at (239) 985-1751. Line Dancing Monday • 2:00pm Fee: $3 paid directly to Patti Guest Waiver Reminder All guests of Residents are required to complete a Guest Waiver at the Front Desk of Soleil before working out. This includes participating in any classes. A daily $5 guest fee will be charged to the Resident account or guests can pay cash when checking in. Yoga guest fees $5. Equipment Sign Out Croquet, badminton, basketballs, volleyballs, playground balls and bats are available for sign out. Horseshoes and lawn bowling equipment are located in the storage box out on the green. Please sign out equipment in the book located in the Aquatics Office and sign it back in when you are finished using it.
