He finished his elementary and secondary at Pampanga High School and he pursued his college at the University of Santo Tomas and obtained a degree in Bachelor of Science in Medicine and graduated with distinction and meritisimus in 1942. After graduation from college he began his practice in Angeles City.

Dr. Adelaido C. Bernardo was born on Dec. 16, 1910. He is one of the children of Mr. Teopisto Bernardo and Mrs. Irenea Cruz.

He was married to Mrs. Magdalena D. Franco and raised nine children, 6 girls and 3 boys. They acquired Barangay Lakandula formerly known as New Balibago in 1954, a total of 40 hectares starting 7th st. to 19th Street. He lived a simple and modest life with a service to God and humanity during his lifetime. He was laid to his final rest on May 12, 1977 at the age of 67.

Rajah Lakandula was a powerful king of Tondo who, along with Rajah Matanda and Rajah Soliman, signed a peace treaty with Miguel Lopez de Legazpi in 1572. This barangay was given its name in honor of Rajah Lakandula. Before it was partitioned off to become its own barangay, Lakandula was a sitio that belonged to the community of Dau.

Barangay Lakandula is located in Mabalacat, which is in the province of Pampanga in the Philippines. According to the results of the Census performed in the year 2020, the population was 8,387. This accounted for 2.86 percent of Mabalacat's total population at the time.

According to the results of the 2015 Census, there were 1,557 households in Lakandula, with an average of 4.36 people living in each one. This gave the city a total population of 6,786.

Over the course of the past three decades, the number of people living in Lakandula has increased by 1,863 individuals, moving from 6,524 in the year 1990 to 8,387 in the year 2020. From a total population of 6,786 in 2015 to the most recent figures available from the census in 2020, an increase of 1,601 individuals, representing a growth rate of 4.56%, has been recorded.

The Kapampangans are known for their love of food. But Pampanga has colorful festivals that reflect its rich culture and native traditions. Kapampangans are proud of their culture, and these festivals show their happiness. Every province and barangay has a festival. Lakandula Elementary School was started on January 01, 1965. It helped a lot of children to learn, be knowledgeable, responsible and loved it’s country by giving them the values that they use today. Over many years it still continues to grow with response to its duty for the children in lakandula.

Lakandula Elementary School has an extensive program that helps the children to improve their interests in different activities including food program, thanks giving, intramurals and others. These activities help them to express their talents, this will help the students know how to build relationships with other people around them which is important in life.

Another thing that happens is competition where the children can show how brave they are. This will make him excellent. They also get to know about house chores that they can use in their daily lives in future.

OUR LA The Our Lady of Fatima Chapel started in 1964. It was founded by the Bernardo family, who continue to help and spread the word of God and His love to others. The chapel has made a lasting impact on lakandula community. It’s a Catholic Church, the chapel continues to grow and influence people to love and have faith in our Lord. Many people who live in Lakandula choose to do so because of its nearness to Clark Freeport, where they either work, attend school, or have other commitments. This is because of the increasing economic activity in the Metro Clark area. As a result of this, there has been a significant influx of new residents in Lakandula, which has resulted in the development of a large number of apartment and dormitory complexes to accommodate them. The Escalade Inc. Dormitory on 10th Street is among those that have been built. It is the largest dormitory in the city, with a capacity of 180 bedspaces and amenities of its own, such as a canteen, laundry, and CCTV monitoring 24/7

The Bayanihan Park Terminal in neighboring Barangay Balibago, which provides intracity mobility, is located right next to Lakandula, making road travel convenient. The Dau Bus Terminal in Barangay Dau connects the village towards other areas of the Philippines. The SM City Clark Public Transport Terminal, with Point-to-Point (P2P) Buses, Utility Van Express Service, and Public Utility Jeepney r o u t e s , i s a l s o 47 nearby.

The Clark International Airport, also known by its IATA code of CRK, is located in Mabalacat City, which is only a 15-minute drive from Lakandula. This makes air travel a convenient mode of transportation. Residents of Lakandula have prime access to the nation's most rapidly expanding aviation center, which enables them to travel to a variety of domestic and international destinations after departing from CRK.

As the Clark Station of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) Clark Line is currently being built behind the SM City Clark Complex to the west of 10th Street, rail travel is going to become an important mode of transportation for getting to and around Lakandula. In addition to the station that is currently being built in front of Terminal 2 of Clark International Airport, this station will be the only other access point to the PNR in Mabalacat City. Direct access to Metro Manila and Southern Luzon's public transportation systems will be provided by the railway.
