In 1979 Islamic Revolution, the new government becomes increasingly religious and oppressive and makes it obligatory for women and girls to wear a veil that covers most of their faces. "All of us do not like the veil, we do not understand why we must wear it too." Marjane said. "It's too hot out!" shout the other girl. "Giddyap!" said playfully by the two girls. "We tried to give meaning on these veils." Marjane added. "Ooh! I'm the master of darkness." A girl murmured. "At the same time at school they play games as if they are revolutionaries." Marjane stated. "Execution in the name of freedom." Before 1979, these girls are all part of a French non-religious school where boys and girls were together, which is shut down following the Cultural Revolution because bilingual schools are seen as markers of capitalism and decadence. Afterwards, "We found ourselves veiled and separated from our friends." Marjane described. PERSEPOLIS

Everywhere in the streets there where demonstrations for and against the veil of which Marjane's mother is a part. A german journalist took a photo of her mother. "I was so proud of my mother for demonstrating her beliefs." Marjane said proudly. On the other hand, "Have you seen this?" Marjane's mother ask worriedly. "Don't worry darling." said Marjane's father while trying to calm her wife. She dyes her hair and wears glasses for a long time to protect herself. "I really didn't know what to think about the veil. Deep down I was very religious but as a family we were very modern and avant-garde. I was born with religion." Marjane speaks to her conflicting feelings about the veil. She perceives herself as "the last prophet" even though all the prophets in history are men, she does not let that dissuade her. She writes her own "holy book" with rules that derive from religious sources, and also her own experiences. She hopefully said, "I wanted to be a prophet because our maid did not eat with us." "Because my father had a Cadillac, and everyone should have one also." "And above all, because my grandmother's knees always ached. It will simply be forbidden." PERSEPOLIS

Marjane's private thoughts enters the public sphere, they make fun of her. Her teachers called her parents to talk about her fantasies, they defended her before her teacher but at home they question her. "Do you really dream about becoming a prophet?" Both of her parents asked. "Of course not, I want to be a doctor in the future." Marjane defended. Regardless, she keeps her hope alive in secret telling God that she will continue being a prophet but that no one will know. At last she muttered, "I wanted to be justice, love and the wrath of God all in one."

In the middle of the night in Privet Drive, The head of wizardry academy Albus Dumbledore called Professor Mcgonagall. Who also teaches at the same academy called Hogwarts. Professor Dumbledore called a giant man named Hagrid as well. The three of them are standing in front of Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia’s home which are the foster parents of Harry. “In that house, there is a child named Harry Potter. Voldemort has killed both of his parents and fortunately, Voldemort unsuccessfully killed Harry Potter but he only got a chance to give him a mark on his forehead during the tragedy” Dumbledore said while looking in front of the house. “Albus, are you sure leaving him with these people is safe? They have been my concern all day. They are the worst kind of Muggles you could imagine. They really are..” Professor Mcgonagall replied. “Well we do not have a choice. This is the only family he has.” Dumbledore said. Ten years later, Harry received a letter from someone, but Uncle Vernon keeps on taking Harry's notes for him not to read the letter. On Harry’s 11th birthday, Hagrid barged in while holding a cake. harry Potter And the Philosopher's stone

“Happy Birthday Harry, I’ve got something for ya. I'm worried I may have sat on it at some point. It should still taste great, in my opinion. Ahh. I baked it myself.” Says proudly to Harry. “Excuse me sir but who are you?” Harry asked. “Hagrid Rubeus. Hogwarts's keykeeper and groundskeeper. I am also here to fetch you to Hogwarts. You’re a Wizard Harry.” Hagrid replied. Hagrid drives Harry to London the following day to get school supplies. While they’re walking Hagrid starts the conversation. “You were told that your parents passed away in a plane crash, I assume? They didn't, in fact. It was then murdered by a monster that shouldn't exist named." Hagrid remarked. "Your mother's love for you is symbolized by the scar on your forehead. She died in your defense; the scar represents you as the boy who lived. You are highly recognised in our world because of this. "Hagrid remarked. Hagrid also describes how Harry became famous in the wizarding community for making Voldemort helpless in addition to surviving his attack and leaving with merely a scar from a lightning bolt.

Harry travels to the train station a month later and boards the train bound for Hogwarts on platform nine and three quarters. Harry makes friends with other first-year students on the train, including Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. “Excuse me Do you mind me sitting here? Everywhere else is full.” A red hair child said “No nat at all.” Harry replied. “I’m Ron, by the way Ron Weasley” while he sits across from Harry A girl with bushy brown hair, dressed in robes, appears at the doorway. “Has anyone seen a toad? Neville’s lost one.” the girl asked and sat beside Ron. “No.” Ron replied. “Holy Cricket, you're Harry Potter. I'm Hermione Granger and you are?” “I’m Ron Weasley” “Pleasure. You two better change into your robes. I expect we'll be arriving soon.” Hermione gets up and leaves, then comes back and looks at Ron.

“You've got dirt on your nose, by the way, did you know? Just there.” She points the dirt mark on Ron's nose. Ron scratches his nose, embarrassed. When they arrived at Hogwarts. The first-years at the school take turns donning the Sorting Hat to determine which residential house they will reside in. Harry believes that he will be placed in the evil Slytherin house, but instead finds himself, Ron, and Hermione in the honorable Gryffindor house. As the school year gets underway, Harry learns a lot about his family. Harry also became a Gryffindor’s Quidditch seeker. Being a seeker is ultimately a rare position to a freshman Professor Mcgonagall was the one who casted Harry to the team since she saw Harry's potential playing the game. “I suppose you got your skills from your dad.” Oliver Wood said, the Quidditch team said. “My dad?” Harry said. “Yes, your dad is actually a quidditch player as well, he’s the best.” Oliver replied. Later that day, Malfoy challenges Harry to a wizard’s duel at midnight. Malfoy doesn’t show up at the appointed place. While they are walking they saw Mrs. Norris. “It’s Filch’s cat!” Hermione noticed. “Run” Harry said. harry Potter And the Philosopher's stone

The trio runs through the corridor, flames are lit up on the stone supports, one by one, as they run past. They got to the end of the corridor, to a door and they went in. Filch went to Mrs. Norris “Anyone here, my sweet?” Mrs. Norris meows. " Come on." They leave the corridor. “Filch is gone” Hermione said. “Probably thinks this door's locked.” “It was locked.” “And for good reason.” Ron and Hermione turn to stand with Harry. There is a massively huge three headed dog sleeping in front of them. The dog begins to wake. It growls, yawns, and growls more...noticing the intruders. “AHHHH” the trio shouts and runs back to their Gryffindor Common Room. That Halloween night, the great hall had floating Jack O'Lanterns in place of the candles. Harry notices an empty spot on the bench. The students are all escorted back to their dormitories, but Harry and Ron sneak off to find Hermione, who is alone and unaware of the troll. “Where's Hermione?" Harry asked.

“Parvati Patil said that she wouldn't come out of the girl's bathroom. She said that she'd been in there all afternoon...crying." Neville answered. Harry glances at Ron with a disapproving look on his face; Ron shrugs. Suddenly, Professor Quirrell comes running into the Great Hall in panic. “TROLL! IN THE DUNGEON! T-TROOLLL IN THE DUNGEON!! Dumbledore rises from his seat in concern. Everyone looks at Quirrell and he stops and there is utter silence. "Thought you ought to know.” He passes out. The room is silent, and then everyone freaks out, screaming and running. “SILLLLLEEENNNNCEEEEE!" Dumbledore commanded. Everyone stops and calms down. "Everyone will please, not panic. Now, Prefects will lead their houses back to the dormitories. Teachers will follow me to the dungeons.” “Hufflepuff, this way!" “Stay together!" In the bathroom, Hermione emerges from a stall, wiping her eyes. She stops when she sees something. The troll is standing there. Hermione backs up, into the stall just as the troll raises its club and smashes the top part of the stalls. Hermione screams. Harry and Ron come bursting in.

“Hermione, move!” The troll smashes the remaining stalls. “Help! Help!” The boys start throwing wood pieces at the troll. “Hey, pea brain!” Ron throws wood and hits the troll on the head. Hermione escapes from the stalls under a sink, but the troll sees her and goes to smash her. It cracks the sink and barely misses Hermione. Harry cringes. “Ahhh! Help!” Hermione shouted.Harry gets out his wand. He runs forward and grabs the troll's club, and is lifted up. “Whoa!” He lands on the troll's shoulders, and is hurled around, back and forth. Harry's wand shoots up the troll's nose. The troll groans in disgust. “Ew!" Ron and Hermione were disgusted by Harry’s wand in the troll’s nose. The troll snorts, and whips around. “Whoa, whoa whoa!" The troll gets Harry off its shoulders and is holding him by one leg, upside down. “Do something!" It gears up its club and swipes at Harry. He pulls himself up, then down. “What?!” Ron panics.

"Anything!" the troll swipes at Harry again Ron grabs his wand. Under the sink, Hermione waves her hand. “Wingardium Leviosa!” / “Swish and flick” The troll got knocked out by his own club. Harry wipes his wand on his robes. Suddenly, McGonagall, Snape and Quirrell come rushing in. They all gasp at the knocked out troll. “Oh! Oh, my goodness! E-Explain yourselves, both of you!” McGonagall said in shocked. “Well, what it is…” Ron and Harry didn’t know what to say. “It's my fault, Professor McGonagall.” Hermione cuts in. The teachers, Ron and Harry look at her. “Miss Granger?” McGonagall said, asking for explanation. “I went looking for the troll. I'd read about them and thought I could handle it. But I was wrong. If Harry and Ron hadn't come and found me...I'd probably be dead." “Be that as it may be...it was an extremely foolish thing to do.” Harry notices Snape's leg, which has the trousers' leg torn and a large cut on it. Snape notices and covers it up, glaring at Harry. “I would have expected more rational behavior on your part, Miss Granger. Five points will be taken from Gryffindor for your serious lack of judgment.”McGonagall said, she turns to Harry and Ron. harry Potter And the Philosopher's stone

“As for you two gentlemen I just hope you realize how fortunate you are. Not many students could take on a fully grown mountain troll and live to tell the tale. Five points...will be awarded to each of you.” Harry and Ron grin at each other. “For sheer dumb luck. “ Snape and McGonagall leave the bathroom. “Perhaps you ought to go...M-might wake up...heh.” Quirrell stands up. Harry, Ron and Hermione exit the bathroom. Quirrell looks at the unconscious troll. The troll growls, seemingly going to wake up. “Ahh! Hehe.... “ Quirrell passed out, again. Harry, Ron and Hermione are walking back to the Gryffindor Common Room through the corridor. “Good for you to get us out of trouble like that.” Harry said to Hermione. “Mind you, I mean, we did save her life.” Ron added. “Mind you, she didn't need saving if you hadn't insulted her.” Harry talked back, teasing Ron. Hermione looks at Ron. “What are friends for?” Ron said. They both smile at each other as they carry on through the corridor.

Hermione notices Snape staring at Harry and muttering a curse. She concludes that he is jinxing Harry’s broom, and she sets Snape’s clothes on fire. Harry regains control of the broom and makes a spectacular play to win the Quidditch match. It is now Christmas at Hogwarts, with snow falling. Hagrid is dragging a massive Christmas tree to the castle.Hermione walks to the Great Hall entrance with her luggage and wearing a scarf as the ghosts are singing Christmas songs. Harry then proceeds to open the gift from his present. He pulls out a blanket-like object. “What is it?" Ron asked. Harry looking down at the object "It's some kind of cloak." “Well, let's see then, put it on." Ron said to Harry. Harry then wraps the cloak around his shoulders, making his body invisible "Whoa!" Looks down at his invisible body "My body's gone! “ “I know what that is. That's an invisibility cloak."

" I'm invisible?" Harry spins around, looking down at himself “They're really rare." Ron looks down at the note "I wonder who gave it to you?" Now also looking down at the note "There was no name. It just said use it well." For Christmas, Harry receives his father’s invisibility cloak, and he explores the school, unseen, late at night. A door opens, and closes. On the other side, there is a vast, empty room that has a large mirror in the center, known as the Mirror of Erised. Harry appears and walks over to the mirror. In the reflection, he sees two people appear who are Harry's late parents, James and Lily Potter. “Mum? Dad?” Lily and James nods and smiles. Harry reaches out to touch them, but only gets the mirror. Then, his mother puts her hand on his shoulder. He puts his own hand on his own shoulders, as if trying to feel her there. Back in the boy's dormitory in Gryffindor tower, Harry comes whipping in, invisible. “Come on. Come.Come look, it's my parents!” Harry said excitingly, he and Ron goe back to the mirror. “I only see me.” Ron said. Harry then placed Ron in front of the mirror. “Look in properly. Go on. Stand there. There. You see them, don't you? That's my dad “ Harry said.

“That's me! Only, I'm head boy...and I'm holding the Quidditch cup! And bloody hell, I'm Quidditch Captain too! I look good. Harry, do you think this mirror shows the future?” Ron said excitingly. “How can it? Both my parents are dead.” Harry smiles sadly. The next night, Harry is back in the room where the mirror is, gazing longingly at the reflection where his parents are in. Dumbledore appears far behind him. “Back again, Harry?” Harry turns around and stands up. “I see that you, like so many before you, have discovered the delights of the Mirror of Erised. I trust by now you realize what it does. Let me give you a clue. The happiest man on earth would look into the mirror and see only himself, exactly as he is.“ Dumbledore said. “So, then it shows us what we want? Whatever we want?” Harry asked, then stared at the mirror. “Yes...and no. It shows us nothing more or less than the deepest, most desperate desires of our hearts. Now you, who have never known your family, you see them standing beside you. But remember this, Harry. This mirror gives us neither knowledge or truth. Men have wasted away in front of it, even gone mad. That is why tomorrow it will be moved to a new home, and I must ask you not to go looking for it again. It does not dwell on dreams, Harry, and forget to live.” Dumbledore answered. harry Potter And the Philosopher's stone

Harry looks back at the mirror, knowing that Dumbledore is right. It is nighttime in the castle grounds, Hermione, Rom, and Harry are running across to Hagrid’s hut. They knock on the door and Hagrid, who is wearing an apron and oven mitts, opens it from the inside. “Hagrid!” Harry said. “Oh hello. Sorry, don’t wish to be rude, but I'm in no fit state to entertain today.” Hagrid said, closing the door. “We know about the Philosopher’s Stone!” The three said together. Hagrid opens the door again. “Oh” They all come into Hagrid’s hut to talk about the Stone. “We think Snape’s trying to steal it.” Harry started. “Snape? Blimey, Harry, you’re not still on about him, are you?” Hagrid questioned Harry. “Snape is one of the teachers protecting the Stone! He’s not about to steal it!” “What? Wait a minute, one of the teachers?” Harry asked in surprise. Ron soon sees Hagrid’s boar-hound Fang, who sniffs him.

While sitting in a large chair, Hermione joined the conversation. “Of course! There are other things defending the Stone, aren’t there? Spells, enchantments.” “That’s right. Waste of bloody time, if you ask me” Hagrid said. Hermione looks at Ron, who’s still being sniffed in the face by Fang. Finally, Ron shuffles away. “Ain’t no one gonna pass Fluffy. Hehe, not a soul know how, except for me and Dumbledore.'' Hagrid added. He later on realizes what he just said. “I shouldn’t have told you that.” Hagrid said , twice. A cauldron over a fire begins to rattle. “Oh” Hagrid hurries over to grab something. He places it on the table. It was an egg, the group crowded around. “Hagrid, what exactly is that?” Harry asked. “I know what that is! But Hagrid, how did you get one?” Ron exclaimed. “I won it. Off a stranger I met down at a pub. Seemed quite glad to be a matter of fact.” Hagrid explained. The egg rattles and cracks open as pieces fly off. It squeaks and slips on an egg piece. “Is that….a dragon?” Hermione asked in surprise. “That’s not just a dragon. That’s a Norwegian Ridgeback! My brother Charlie works with these in Romania.” Ron said, answering Hermione’s question.

He knows his mummy, hehe. Hallo, Norbert.” Norbert squeaks as it looks at Hagrid. “Norbert?” Harry looked at Hagrid. “Yeah, well. He’s got to have a name, doesn’t he?” Hagrid proudly said. “Don’t you Norbert?” Hagrid played with Norbert. Norbert backs away, until he hiccups and blasts a small fireball into Hagrid’s beard. “Ohh!” He quickly pats out the smolders in his beard. As he was busy putting out the fire, Hagrid saw someone looking in the window. “Who’s that?” It turns out to be Draco Malfoy, who ran away. “Malfoy.” Harry said in a serious tone. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are walking back through a corridor as an owl screeches. They keep talking about how Hagrid surprisingly got a dragon and how bad it is that Malfoy knows. They stop as McGonagall, in her nightgown, appears sternly.

“Good evening.” McGonagall said in a serious voice. Malfoy appears smugly beside her. Inside McGonagall’s classroom, the three are now standing in front of McGonagall’s desk, while Malfoy is feet away, smirking. “Nothing. I repeat, nothing gives a student the right to walk about the school at night. Therefore, as punishment for your actions, 50 points will be taken, each.” McGonagall said sternly. Harry gasps. “And to ensure it doesn’t happen again, all four of you will receive detention.” McGonagall added. Malfoy nods, then his smile vanishes with great concern. “Excuse me, Professor. Perhaps I heard you wrong. I thought you said….the four of us.” “No, you heard me correctly, Mr. Malfoy. You see, as honorable your intentions were, you too were out of bed after hours. You will serve detention with your classmates.” Harry, Ron, and Hermione grin, as Draco sags knowing that the tables have turned. The next night, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Draco are being led to Hagrid’s hut. “A pity they let the old punishments die. There was a time, detention would find you hanging by your thumbs in the dungeons. God, I miss the screaming.” Draco gulps as he hears what Filch said, Hermione rushes by. harry Potter And the Philosopher's stone

“You’ll be serving detention with Hagrid tonight. He’s got a little job to do inside the dark forest.” Filch said. Hagrid appears with a crossbow. He sniffles, knowing that his dragon is gone and was sent to Romania. Filch rolls his eyes. “Oh, for God’s sake, pull yourself together, man. You’re going into the forest, after all. Got to have your wits about you” Filch said. “The forest? I thought that was a joke! We can’t go in there. Students aren’t allowed. And there are….werewolves!” Draco said, frightened. “There’s more than werewolves in those trees, lad. You can be sure of that.”Filch leaves to go back into the castle. In the Forbidden Forest, the group walks along a path to a tree. Hagrid stops, bends down, and dips his fingers in a silver puddle. He pulls out his fingers and rubs them together, silver trail smears with his fingers. “Hagrid, what’s that?” Harry asked. “What we’re here for. See that? That’s a unicorn’s blood. I found one dead a few weeks ago. Now this one’s been injured badly by something.” Harry suddenly sees a large cloaked figure walking through the trees. He looks at Hagrid. “So, it’s our job to find the poor beast. Ron, Hermione, you’ll come with me. And Harry, you’ll go with Malfoy.” Harry nods while Draco grimaces. “Okay then, I get Fang!” He exclaimed. harry Potter And the Philosopher's stone

“Fine. Just so you know, he’s a bloody coward.” Hagrid said, Fang whines. Harry and Draco are walking through a part of the forest, with Fang leading. Draco has the lamp in his hand. “You wait till my father hears about this. This is servant’s stuff.” “If I didn’t know better, Draco. I’d say you were scared.” Harry said to Draco. “Scared, Potter?!” Draco scoffs, but suddenly hears a howl. “Did you hear that? Come on, Fang. Scared.” Harry and Draco approach a flat ground with gnarled roots all over. Fang stops, then growls. “What is it, Fang?” Harry asked. Up ahead is a cloaked figure who is crouching, drinking the blood of the dead unicorn. The figure raises its head, silver blood dripping from its mouth. Harry gasps and grabs his scar. “HELP!!!!!” Draco screams with pure fear and runs away with Fang, leaving Harry behind with the cloaked figure. The cloaked figure advances toward Harry, who backs up but trips. He crawls backward. Suddenly, there is the sound of hoofbeats. A figure leaps over Harry and lands near the cloaked figure. It is a silver centaur called Firenze. It rears and the cloaked figure retreats, flying away.

“Harry Potter, you must leave. You are known to many creatures here. The forest is not safe this time, especially for you.” Firenze said, before looking at Harry. “But what was that thing you saved me from?” Harry asked. “A monstrous creature.” Firenze answered, explaining how it is a terrible crime to slay a unicorn and how its blood will keep you alive even if you are an inch from death. “You have slain something so pure that the moment the blood touches you, you will have a half-life. A cursed life.” Firenze added. “But who would choose such a life?” Harry asked. “Can you think of no one?” Firenze said. “Do you mean to say that…that thing that killed the unicorn. That was drinking its blood…that was Voldemort?” Harry said in surprise. “Do you know what is hidden in the school at this very moment?” Firenze said. “The Philosopher’s Stone.” Harry said, realizing. Fang suddenly barks and Harry looks up to see Hagrid, Hermione, Ron, and Draco appear. Hagrid has his crossbow ready, but lowers it when he sees Firenze. Hagrid greeted Firenze. “Hello there, Firenze. I see you’ve met our young Mr. Potter. You all right there, Harry?” Harry nods. “Harry Potter, this is where I leave you. You’re safe now. Good luck.” Firenze leaves as the group looks at the dead unicorn.

Harry decides that he must find the stone before Voldemort does. So they tried to find Professor Dumbledore. But they bumped into McGonagall instead. "We have to see Professor Dumbledore, immediately!" Harry said. "I’m afraid Professor Dumbledore is not here." McGonagall replied. "But, this is important! This is about the Philosopher's Stone, someone’s going to try to steal it!!" Harry said. "I'm not sure how you three learned about the Stone, but I can promise you that it is totally secure. Now, will you go back to your dormitories, quietly.". McGonall answered looking shocked So He, Ron, and Hermione planned to sneak off that night to the forbidden third-floor corridor. At night, The three friends come down the stairs and begin to walk across the floor. When they hear croaking, they stop. Then, Neville suddenly appears from behind a chair and warns them. Harry tried to convince Neville, but he refused, saying, "You're sneaking out again, aren't you? I won't let you! You'll get Gryffindor into trouble again! I-I'll fight you." Hermione replied while taking out her wand, "Neville, I'm really, really sorry about this...Petrificus Totalus. " Neville froze. harry Potter And the Philosopher's stone

The three said sorry and moved quietly until they approached the door while wearing an invisibility cloak. Hermione cast her wand into the air. "Alohomora!" As they opened the door a sleeping dog is in front and blocking the door. They must move it without disturbing it. Sadly, the dog woke up, barked, growled and thrash at them. Things got worse but they still managed to escape and perform many impressive feats as they get closer and closer to the stone. Ron and Hermione convinced Harry to leave and go alone during the Queen's play and to leave the situation in their two capable hands. Harry agrees and departs. Harry takes his time going down the stairs. As he winces halfway down, feeling the burning in his scar, he looks up to find Professor Quirrell in front of the Mirror of Erised. Later on, Professor Quirrell revealed trying to kill him by stealing Snape's cloak, where Harry finally realizes what has occurred.

"Very good, Potter, yes. Snape, unfortunately, wasn’t fooled. While everyone else was running about the dungeon, he went to the third floor to head me off. He, of course, never trusted me again. He rarely left me alone. But he doesn’t understand. I’m never alone, never. Now, what does this mirror do? I see what I desire. I see myself holding the stone. But how do I get it?" Quirrell said. "Use the boy!" An unknown voice said. Harry is promptly placed in front of the Mirror of Erised by Quirrell, who continually asks him, "What do you see?, what is it?" Harry looks into the mirror, and for a few seconds, sees him standing next to Quirrell, then his reflection reaches into its pocket and pulls out a gleaming red ruby, the Philosopher’s Stone; Harry stares in amazement as his reflection smiles and winks, then puts the stone back in its pocket; Harry feels his pocket and realizes the Stone really is in his pocket, then looks up again. Harry lied, saying, "I-I'm shaking hands with Dumbledore. I've won the House Cup." The unknown voice tells Quirrell that the boy is lying and requests to speak to Harry face to face. Quirrell reaches up and starts unwrapping his turban as he turns so his back is to the mirror, revealing a scary-looking chalk white face, Harry recognized Voldemort right away.

"Harry Potter, we meet again. You see what I’ve become? See what I must do to survive? Live off another, a mere parasite. Unicorn blood can sustain me, but it cannot give me a body of my own. But there is something that can, something that, conveniently enough, lies in your pocket." Voldemort said. Harry turns and rushes back up the stairs after realizing Voldemort is referencing the Philosopher's Stone. Voldemort instructs Quirrell to kill Harry. Voldemort commanded, "Stop him." "NEVER!" said Harry. Harry is seized by Quirrell as he soars into the air, one hand on his throat. Harry grasped Quirell's hand in an effort to escape, but suddenly it crumbled into ash and dust. Quirell yells, "AHH! AHH! WHAT IS THIS MAGIC!?" Harry looks horrified as Quirrell backs up with his face horrendously burned. Harry gasps, as he looks at his own hands and hurries over to the stone. However, from behind, dust clouds with Voldemort's face rush forward screaming and go through Harry who also screams. Voldemort flies away, as Harry falls to the ground, unconscious. He holds the Stone in an outstretched hand. In the hospital wing the next day, Harry regains his consciousness. He is lying in bed with his arm bandaged; he puts on his glasses and sits up. There are tons of cards and candies all over, Dumbledore approaches him.

“Good afternoon, Harry. Ah. Tokens from your admirers and friends.” said Dumbledore, referring to the tons of cards and candies. “What happened down in the dungeons between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret. So, naturally, the whole school knows.” Dumbledore said. They both smile. “Ah, I see your friend Ronald has saved you the trouble of opening your Chocolate Frogs.” Dumbledore said, looking at the chocolates and candies. “Ron was here? Is he all right? What about Hermione?” Harry asked, worriedly.”Fine, they’re both just fine.” Dumbledore assured Harry. “But, what happened to the Stone?” Harry asked Dumbledore. “Relax, dear boy. The stone has been destroyed. My friend Nicholas and I had a little chat and agreed it was best all around.” Dumbledore walked beside Harry. “But Flamel, he’ll die, won’t he?” Harry asked. “He has enough Elixir to set his affairs in order. But yes, he will die.” Dumbledore sits on the bed. “How is it I got the Stone, sir? One minute I was staring in the mirror, and the next…” Harry said, confused. “Ah. You see, only a person who wanted to find the Stone, find it but not use it, would be able to get it. Dumbledore explained. “That is one of my more brilliant ideas. “Does that mean, with the Stone gone. I mean, that Voldemort can never come back?” Harry curiously asked Dumbledore. “Ah. I’m afraid there are ways in which he can return.” Dumbledore answered. “Harry, do you know why Professor Quirrell couldn’t bear to have you touch him?” Dumbledore asked Harry. Harry shakes his head, not knowing the answer. “It was because of your mother. She sacrifices herself for you, and that kind of act leaves a mark.” Harry touches his scar as Dumbledore said those words. “No, no, this kind of mark cannot be seen. It lives in your very skin.” Dumbledore corrected Harry. “What is it?” Harry asked. “Love, Harry. Love.” Dumbledore pats Harry’s head and stands up. He walked to where the chocolates and candies were. “Ah. Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans.” He exclaimed before getting the candy box. “I was most unfortunate in my youth to come across a vomit flavored one, and since then, I have lost my liking for them.” Dumbledore said, reminiscing the past. "But I think I could be safe with a nice toffee…” Dumbledore takes a brown bean and eats it. “Mm. Alas. Earwax.” He said, nodding. Harry heads down to the end- of-year banquet with his arm still bandaged and enters a corridor where up on a stairwell balcony, Hermione and Ron are talking. They stop when they see Harry and lean over the railing. "All right there, Ron?" Harry said. "All right? You?" Ron replied. "All right. Hermione?" As Harry shrugs "Never better", Hermione responded with a smile. We see the Great Hall, full of students eating and talking with each other. There are green and silver banners with the Slytherin symbol above their heads, already indicating the house with the most points. Dumbledore gives a slight nod to professor McGonagall, then asks for attention from the students. The crowd falls silent. Dumbledore stands up and speaks with his magically magnified voice. As he announces each of them, crowds and applause is getting louder. and finally.. "First place, with 472 points.....Slytherin house!" Awards of last-minute points are given to Gryffindor for the feats of Harry and his friends, Hermione as 1st, Ron as 2nd, and Harry being the 3rd. "Good Job" As Harry congratulated Hermione After a while, Dumbledore joyfully declared, "With the added points, Gryffindor wins the House Cup!" "The Great Hall explodes with applause, not only from the Gryffindors, but also from the Ravenclaws and the Hufflepuffs, because they are glad that, for the first time in seven years, someone other than Slytherin has won the House Cup. After the House Cup, It's time for the Summer where Harry returns to London to spend the summer with the Dursleys. "Come on now, hurry up. You'll be late. Train's leaving. Go on. Go on. Come on. Hurry up." Hagrid exclaimed. "Come on, Harry." Hermione followed. "One minute," Harry says hurriedly. Hagrid gave Harry a photo album containing a photo of him as a baby with his parents. They are all smiling and waving.Harry thanked him with a smile. Harry walks away, back to the train door where Hermione and Ron are waiting. "Feels strange to be going home, doesn't it?", Hermione asked. Harry answered "I'm not going home. Not really."

Suddenly, she felt that someone is staring at her. “Who’s that?” she asked. After asking, she heard a shriek and she ran and ran that leads her to the forest. Where she met a boy named Wyborne. What a weird name for a weird boy like him. She asked the little boy where the well is. “It’s below you! And if you stomp so hard you’ll fall!”Coraline walked away so fast. “It’s Coraline, Coraline Jones” After that the day went by and it’s finally another day. A new day in their new house. “Mom, I almost fell on the well yesterday, I could’ve died” she said

Her mom is working and can’t reply to her. She asked her mom if she can go out because she thinks that going out while raining is fun. But her mom said that she can’t go out because it’s raining and it makes mud. She don’t want their new house to be full of mud. “Coraline, I don’t have time for you right now! And you still need to unpack a lot of things!” her mom said angrily. “So exciting!” she said, obviously not happy. She walked away and decided to go to her dad. Her parents is a writer and they’re always in front of the computer. Her dad is busy and working too and because of that she asked Coraline to just count the windows and door to ease her boredom. While counting the doors she discover a small door that will lead her to the other mother. A door that will change her life. Out of curiosity, she asked her mom is she could open it for her. “If I open this will you stop bothering me?!” her mom said while opening the door. It’s dinner time and her dad cooked a meal that looks like trash. She’s not even sure if she can eat it because it doesn’t look edible. She decided to go to her bedroom to end the day. While she was lying on her bed, thinking about her life. She suddenly saw a shadow. Out of curiosity, she followed it. Surprisingly, it was the door again, but it was not the same door that she saw, it was all pitch black. She walked towards it. and little did she know that this will lead her to another house. She looked around, it was just the same house that her family has. But it’s vibes are different. She wander around. When suddenly, she saw a woman. She walked closer. The mother turned around and faced her. “Hi there, my dear Coraline” her mother said, with a smile on her face. Instead of greeting her mother back, she was surprised and confused. It was not her mother. She has a button on her eyes. “You are not my mother “ Coraline said. “Silly you, I am your other mother dear. Welcome to our sweet home! “ her other mother said. She stayed there for a day.

She then realized that this home was a lot more better than her real home. Her home back feels like she was the only one living there. But here, she can actually feel what home actually is. Because of this thought. She did what she thought would be better for her. Once she goes back to her real home and get bored, she will just cross the same shadow path that will lead her to her other mother’s home. She did this every time. There was also a day when her other mother brought her friend to their house, it was strange but she was delightful about it. But one day, when she wandered around her neighborhood, she met a man with a mustache, his name is Mr. Bobinsky. He was training his mice again, for the circus. “What’s your name? “ Mr. Bobinsky asked Coraline. “I am Coraline “ she answered. “Caroline, do you know the mice have a saying? They said never cross that pitch black path door. I wonder what path is that “ Mr Bobinsky said mysteriously. “I have no idea what you are saying." She answered, thinking about that path that she crossed. "Well, if you say so." He said.

Before walking away, Coraline talked again. “It’s Coraline by the way, not Caroline “ After that, she goes to the apartment downstairs, where the retired couple actresses lived. When she got there, Ms. Spinks looked at her strangely. She walked toward her and asked her if she can take a look on her leaves. “My tea leaves? Okay" Coraline replied. Ms. Spinks then looked at her leaves when she saw it, her eyes widened, shocked. “You are in a serious danger, Caroline. Be careful with the people who are surrounding you “ Ms. Spinks said. They gave her a stone that will keep her safe. She goes back to her house, thinking about everything. Her neighbors are giving her a warning about something. She can’t figure out what it is but she has a feeling what it might be. She then walked in to the door again. But this time, she brought a cat with her. ‘’So, you’re back and you brought a vermin with you!’’ The other mother said as she pointed at Coraline and the cat. CORALINE

"No, I-I brought a friend." Coraline replied, stuttering. "You know I love you." The other mother said. "You have a very strange way of showing it." She replied. Then the other mother asked Coraline where the Ghost's eyes were. And when Coraline is about to hand them she reminds the other mother about her parents. "So where are they?" The other mother asked. "I already know where you’ve hidden them." Coraline lied to the other mother and pointed at the hidden door. She was hoping that the other mother would open the hidden door even though she already knows that her parents aren’t really there at the first place but instead she will use this as a chance to escape from her. And as expected the other mother did open the door. "You're wrong Coraline, they aren't there" The other mother said happily as the opened the door.’’ Now you’re going to stay here forever.’’ "NO! I’M NOT!" Coraline replied strongly as she threw the cat to her other mother for her to escape and grab the snow globe where her parents were trapped.

But then, when the other mother got angry she fell into her trap and the other mother tried to attack her but she managed to escape from her. She followed the cat and ran to the hidden door. When she tried to close the door the other mother suddenly appeared and stopped her with her hand. She was struggling to shut it, but then the ghosts in the marble helped her shut it successfully. And she runs down to the passage on the way to their house. Coraline finally arrived at their house. And as soon as she entered there she immediately found her parents and noticed that the snow globe was broken. That's when her parents arrived and hugged them tightly. "Missed us?" Coraline’s mother replied. "Oh, no. What happened you broke my favorite snow globe and why do have cut in your knee?" "I didn't break it. It must have broke when you two escaped." Coraline explained. Her parents didn't listen to her but instead told her to clean up and told her that they will celebrate their garden catalog. And that’s when she realized that her parents cannot remember what happened to them. Coraline is already getting ready to sleep when her mother puts something under her blanket and it is the gloves she wanted to get when they went shopping. Then she noticed the cat in her window and let him in. She apologized to him for throwing him to the other mother. The cat eventually forgives her and goes to bed with her. CORALINE

When Coraline was sleeping she suddenly dreamed of the three ghost children she helped. And warned her. "It is finally over for us." "But you are in terrible danger, miss!’’ the children said. Coraline is confused and terrified. The children explained that locking the door isn’t enough to stop the other mother. She must hide and put the key away from her because it is the only way to avoid the other mother. After finding out the truth, Coraline decided to go to the well to hide the key. However, little did she know the hand of the other mother had followed her there. When she was about to remove the key from her necklace the hand suddenly grabbed her and pulled her to the other world. And that’s when Coraline’s friend Wybie helped her escape from the hand but the hand still broke free from them. And when it is about to attack Coraline, Wybie crushed it with a big rock and threw it in the well with the key. And that’s when she finally breaks free from the other mother. "I-I'm, sorry." Wybie suddenly apologizes. "I didn't believed you in the first place about this evil stuff." Coraline asked what made him suddenly change his mind. And then he showed a picture of two little girls who are his grandma and her sister. Coraline recognized the other kid in the picture.

"I need to go my grandma is already calling me." Wybie said after hearing his grandmother’s voice. "But how am I going to tell this to her?" Referring to the other mother's incident that happened to her grandmother’s sister. "We can tell her together, bring her to our house tomorrow." Coraline replied. After that night, they celebrated at their garden together with all the tenants, Ms.Spinks, Ms. Forcible, Mr. Bobinsky, and Wybie as well as the owner of the house, his grandma Miss Lovat. And that’s where Coraline’s peaceful and normal life resumed.

I wanted it to have a girl as a heroine, and I wanted it to be refreshingly creepy. I started to write a story about a girl named Coraline. I thought that the story would be five or ten pages long. The story itself had other plans.... It was a story, I learned when people began to read it, that children experienced as an adventure, but which gave adults nightmares. It's the strangest book I've written, it took the longest time to write, and it's the book I'm proudest of."
