3rd Mérida Film Festival, Yucatan, Mexico

The Mérida Film Festival, FECIME, is a festival of world cinema, in which a varied national and international filmography is given. The festival hosts four days for independent filmmakers who come to present their selected films to the public, which includes sponsors and distributors who assist in selecting projects. In this third edition we hope to keep the public that we have achieved in previous editions. The FECIME will be held from January 26 to 29, 2017, in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.

DATE OF THE EVENT The 3rd Mérida Film Festival (FECIME) will be held from January 26 to 29, 2017, in Merida, Yucatán, Mexico.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE FESTIVAL A) - Inscriptions to FECIME are open for feature films and short films of fiction, animation, documentary and experimental, national and international. B) - The short films must have a maximum duration of 45 minutes. A longer extension will be considered Feature Film (greater than 46 minutes). C) - The submitted works must have date of production after the 1 of January of 2014. D) - In case the language of speech is not Spanish, it must be subtitled in Spanish or English. E) - Any natural or legal person of any nationality can participate. F) - In the case of an individual, he must have reached the age of 18 on the date of dispatch. G) - The number of short films that each filmmaker can submit to FECIME is unlimited. H) - All themes and cinematographic genres are accepted. I) - Movies can be presented in any of the following container formats: MPEG-2, MPEG-4, FLV, AVI, WMV, MOV or 3GP. J) - The film may not have been inscribed in previous editions of the festival.

K) - Once the film is registered, it can not be withdrawn from the Festival's programming. L) - Participants accept both the exhibition at the Festival and the reproduction or diffusion of fragments of their works for informative or promotional purposes related to the festival.

TO SEE THE FILM To participate send the download link of your short to the online platform CLICK FOR FESTIVALS; FECIME must receive the confirmation of participation through this platform, which includes a link (from vimeo, youtube or other). In case of not being public, you must indicate the password. The filmmaker must keep the password for the duration of the festival.

DEADLINES Advance: December 30, 2016 Standard: January 19, 2017

OFFICIAL SELECTION The organization will make an OFFICIAL SELECTION that will be made public through social networks as of January 24, 2017. Likewise, the representatives of the films will be notified by email.

JURY The jury will be composed of prominent representatives of Latin American cinematography.

The jury and / or organization reserve the right to modify the rules or declare the festival or any category deserted if it deems fit. The jury will evaluate the films of the Official Selection to choose the winners. The decisions of the Selection Committee shall be final. The jury may propose prizes or mentions of honor. In this regard, the organization will decide on the jury proposal.

ACCEPTANCE OF THE BASES All participants, due to the fact of presenting themselves, fully accept these bases of participation, as well as the resolutions adopted by the organizing committee on any aspect thereof. These participation bases may be supplemented or modified, prior to the start date of the Festival, with as many other annexes as the Organization deems appropriate. The interpretation of these will be exclusively the responsibility of the Festival Management.

3° Festival Cinematográfico de Mérida, Yucatán, México El Festival Cinematográfico de Mérida, FECIME, es una fiesta de cine mundial, en el que se da cita una variada filmografía nacional e internacional. El festival acoge por cuatro días a cineastas independientes que vienen a presentar sus películas seleccionadas al público presente, que incluye a patrocinantes y empresas distribuidoras que asisten para seleccionar proyectos. En esta tercera edición esperamos mantener el público que hemos logrados en ediciones anteriores. El FECIME se celebrará del 26 al 29 de Enero de 2017, en Mérida, Yucatán, México. FECHA DEL EVENTO El 3° Festival Cinematográfico de Mérida (FECIME) se celebrará del 26 al 29 de Enero de 2017, en Mérida, Yucatán, México. REQUISITOS DEL FESTIVAL a)- Las inscripciones al FECIME están abiertas para largometrajes y cortometrajes de ficción, animación, documental y experimental, nacionales e internacionales. b)- Los cortometrajes deben tener una duración máxima de 45 minutos. Una extensión mayor será considerado Largometraje (mayor a 46 minutos). c)- Los trabajos presentados deben tener producción posterior al 1 de enero de 2014.

d)- En caso de que el idioma de habla no sea español, debe estar subtitulado al español o inglés. e)- Puede participar cualquier persona física o jurídica, de cualquier nacionalidad. f)- En caso de persona física, debe haber cumplido los 18 años en la fecha de envío. g)- El número de cortometrajes que puede presentar cada cineasta a FECIME es ilimitado.

h)Se aceptan todas las temáticas y géneros cinematográficos. i)- Las películas se pueden presentar en cualquiera de los siguientes formatos contenedores: MPEG-2, MPEG-4, FLV, AVI, WMV, MOV o 3GP. j)- La película no puede haber sido inscrita a ediciones anteriores del festival. k)- Una vez inscrita la película no podrá ser retirada de la programación del Festival. l)- Los participantes aceptan tanto la exhibición en el Festival como la reproducción o difusión de fragmentos de sus obras con finalidades informativas o de promoción relacionada con el festival.

VISIONADO DE LA PELÍCULA: Para participar envíe el enlace de descarga de su corto a la plataforma on-line CLICK FOR FESTIVALS; FECIME deberá recibir la confirmación de participación a través de dicha plataforma, que incluye un enlace (de vimeo, youtube u otro). En caso de no estar público, debe indicar la contraseña. El cineasta debe mantener el password el tiempo que dure el festival. SELECCIÓN OFICIAL La organización realizará una SELECCIÓN OFICIAL que se hará pública a través de las redes sociales a partir del 24 de Enero de 2017. Igualmente se notificará a los representantes de las películas por correo electrónico.

JURADO El Jurado estará compuesto por destacados representantes de la cinematografía latinoamericana. El jurado y/o la organización se reservan el derecho de modificar las bases o declarar desierto el festival o alguna categoría si así lo cree oportuno. El jurado valorará las películas de la Selección Oficial para escoger a los ganadores. Las decisiones del Comité de selección serán inapelables. El jurado podrá proponer premios o menciones de honra. En este aspecto, la organización decidirá sobre la propuesta del jurado.

ACEPTACIÓN DE LAS BASES Todos los participantes, por el hecho de presentarse, aceptan íntegramente estas bases de participación, así como las resoluciones que adopte el comité organizador sobre cualquier aspecto de las mismas. Estas bases de participación podrán ser complementadas o modificadas, con anterioridad a la fecha de inicio del Festival, con cuantos otros anexos estime oportunos la Organización. La interpretación de las mismas será competencia exclusiva de la Dirección del Festival.
