MISSOURI DELTA OUTPATIENT REHAB & CLINICS FACILITY The project consists of a ground up 23,245 SF single story building located on approximately 10 acres and represents a solution to the strategic expansion needs of MDMC’s outpatient rehab service line, along with outpatient Podiatry and Occupational Medicine Clinics. The outpatient rehab portion of the building will contain services for Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Pediatric Therapy, Work Rehab, Warm Water Therapy and supportive ancillary services. The outpatient clinics portion will contain 10 large exam rooms, Pulmonary Function Testing and Audiology testing, imaging, phlebotomy and drug screening. The site will accommodate parking for 124 vehicles and service access/trash dumpster parking. The final project cost is $8.5M.

MISSOURI DELTA MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDING FEATURING EXAM ROOMS, PROCEDURE ROOMS, LABS AND PHARMACY

The project consists of a new 14,725 SF single story structure in the southern section of the commercial district in Sikeston Missouri, and represents a solution to the strategic goal of extending the hospital’s primary care outreach to the community, housing both primary care and a rural health clinic. The building is comprised of twenty exam rooms, one procedure room, one outpatient behavioral health treatment office, one radiographic room, a specimen lab, and a retail pharmacy. The building is constructed as a steel frame with brick, glass curtainwall, synthetic stucco, and phenolic wood look panels and roof overhangs. The site accommodates 98 vehicles and has a small loading area for deliveries. Final project cost was $3.85 M.

FULTON STATE HOSPITAL NIXON FORENSIC CENTER Fulton State Hospital, built in 1851, is the oldest state psychiatric hospital west of the Mississippi River. The Biggs and Guhleman Forensic Centers on the campus treat patients with serious mental illness who are committed by Missouri courts for evaluation and treatment related to a crime, or who have seriously assaulted patients or staff in other state psychiatric hospitals. The project took three years of construction with a cost of $211 million, with $13 million appropriated for planning of the design. New Fulton State Hospital operates as a 300-bed, high-security, psychiatric healthcare facility. In total, the multi-phased project includes (6) patient wings, administration building, energy center, and common connector core. CD Companies was selected by the State of MO to design the Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) package for the New Fulton State Hospital completed in 2019. This project was a collaborative opportunity with the Office of Administration and the Department of Mental Health and has allowed our team the ability to explore numerous opportunities to improve patient experience and safety within the new hospital.

MERCY HOSPITAL SOUTH CANCER CENTER Our team designed the Sindelar Cancer Center which is a standalone, 2-story, 81,000 SF facility located on the Mercy South campus across the main drive from the emergency department. Patients and visitors walking through the main entrance are greeted by the open, inviting Atrium filled with natural light. The Rooney Breast Center has its own dedicated entrance on the opposite end of the facility, providing patients with direct access to mammography and other breast health services. Once inside, patients will have access to the infusion center, radiation oncology services, imaging, laboratory, integrative medicine, Mercy Clinic offices, chapel, specialty boutique, cafe, conference center and more. The infusion center includes three different spaces where patients can choose to receive treatment based on the level of privacy they want. A community room allows them to spend time with other patients, especially those patients they may see on a regular basis because they receive treatment on similar schedules. The open room includes a fireplace, virtual aquarium and a great view of the outdoors from the second floor.

SOUTHEAST HEALTH PEDIATRIC CLINIC The Southeast Hospital Pediatric Practice and Specialty Clinic at 25 Doctors Park in Cape Girardeau, Missouri underwent an extensive $1.2 M renovation in 2011-2012. The 12,000 SF former cardiologist facility is designed to accommodate two practicing pediatricians and a nurse practitioner with 12 exam rooms, 2 minor procedure rooms, a four-nurse work center, a phlebotomy lab, business/billing office space, a 36-person waiting area, and related staff support spaces. Approximately 4,000 SF of the building is dedicated to a visiting pediatric specialist clinic and includes physician offices, 6 exam rooms, a minor procedure space, nurse station, and a separate waiting area. The interior design is intended to evoke a pediatric theme without being age or gender specific. A bright, clean, Scandinavian inspired foundation stands in the background, while letting the saturated color accents grab the patient’s attention. This fresh approach puts all expectations of what a pediatric doctor’s office should like, on end. Bold color and graphics envelope the corridors, acting like large, simple graphics to guide all age groups to exam rooms and entertain them while waiting. Furniture is clustered in blocks of color in keeping with the design intent of simple, bold organization.

DIERBERGS MARKET Our team is worked on a ground-up development of a 77,000 SF Dierbergs supermarket with 18,000 SF of adjoining retail/restaurant developments. This development also includes off-site road improvements and signalizations. Our team also installed electric vehicle charging stations in this new development parking lot. As well as, working with the Dierbergs to do remodels.

KROGER Our team provided professional design services for 200+ full-service supermarkets for Kroger throughout the Midwest, including ground-ups, expansions and renovations. These projects included archtectural, mechanical, electrical and structural engineering as well as plumbing design.

KROGER REFRIGERATION WAREHOUSE CD Companies’ scope of work for the Kroger freezer dock expansion in Roanoke, VA included structural, electrical, mechanical and plumbing design services. The project consisted of a 12,750 SF addition to the 32 degree shipping dock within an operational 600,000 SF freezer. The dock was required to remain active throughout construction; therefore the project was designed and constructed in two Phases. The design process was accelerated to ensure completion of the active dock construction, from permit issue to completion, in 6 months.

In addition, we supported Dominick’s as a peer review consultant to identify value engineering opportunities to assess heating and cooling issues as well as analyze compliance with local, state, and federal accessibility requirements.

SAFEWAY GROCERY STORES Over a three year period, we teamed with Safeway to design and engineer their “Lifestyle” concept throughout 25 locations in northern California and Navada. The project scope included extensive remodeling and - in some cases - the addition of new square footage to the existing buildings. Safeway projects involved service meat and seafood, service deli, scratch bakeries, pharmacies, bank lease spaces and Starbuck’s Kiosks.

RESIDENCE INN MARRIOTT

FULL SERVICE DESIGN FOR 3 LOCATIONS NATIONWIDE Residence Inn by Marriott is a brand of extended stay hotels. CD Companies was contracted by OTO Development to provided architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services for three Residence Inn hotels in Florida & Alabama. Each location was 5 stories in height and approximately 84,000 SF. In addition to providing a building design in accordance with the brand’s requirements, our team designed the outdoor pool and surrounding spaces of the hotels.

FOUR SEASONS HOTEL

8TH FLOOR REMODEL - LIBRARY, MULTI-PURPOSE EVENT SPACE, GUEST LOUNGE & TOP GOLF SWING SUITE Our design team redesigned the 8th-floor of the Four Seasons Hotel, located in downtown in Saint Louis. Being tasked with the challenge of creating spaces that would increase revenue and guest amenities, our staff transformed the 8th-floor entirely by repurposing “staff-only” areas into dramatic spaces that provide guests with the ultimate private and luxurious scape. Four spatial zones were created to enhance the guest experience. The “fireside” dining room allows for private events as well as an expansion of their existing restaurant Cinder House, which we designed in 2019. The center lounge provides a resting area with soft enticing furniture. The library provides a secluded relaxation area as well as a space for events. Finally the Top Golf Digital Swing Suite allows guests to enjoy a game of golf while visiting the property. All zones work independently while also allowing the opportunity to work as one cohesive space giving the hotel maximum flexibly for events, increased revenue stream and guest satisfaction.

FOUR SEASONS HOTEL

INTERIOR REMODEL OF 176 GUEST ROOMS & 24 SUITES When our team at R|5 Design Agency was awarded the opportunity to design the Four Seasons’ rooms, we wanted to create the ultimate relaxation experience for the guests. We used soft jewel tones with dark accents to complement the light wood in the cabinetry and fixtures. A bold custom designed wall covering anchors the room and becomes the focal point of the space. Soft and plush textures make up the wind down zone where guests can unwind and enjoy the one-of-a-kind view. We aimed to make the room design complement the recently updated 1st floor and 8th floor lobby areas that our team designed. We wanted guests to have a cohesive experience form when they first step foot into the lobby until they reach their room. The series of spaces that our team designed elevate the experience and amenities that the hotel has to offer. The integration of local design aspects allow guests to connect to the city of Saint Louis while having a unique and memorable stay.

CINDER HOUSE AT FOUR SEASONS HOTEL

LUXURY HOTEL ROOT-TOP RESTAURANT WITH INDOOR & OUTDOOR BAR LOUNGE, & SKY TERRACE James Beard Award-Winning Chef - Gerard Craft - blends the tradition of wood-fired meat, vegetables and fish with bold international flavors. With a heavy hand toward South America, our design team had the exciting challenge of designing a space that captured his culinary prowess. The design of Cinder House complements both the Chef’s culinary passion and the breathtaking views of downtown St. Louis. The space is timeless, modern, and deeply rooted in South American and European aesthetics. Dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows allow guests to gaze at the city’s celebrated monuments, including The Gateway Arch, Mississippi Riverfront, Ead’s Bridge, and Laclede Landing. An exterior bar was added to enhance the rooftop experience Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a warm, atmospheric lobby, a custom stone and wood host desk, as well as a backdrop for its brand. Inside there is a handcrafted black-walnut credenza, bleached then ionized and oiled. The painstaking finish technique was selected as a reference to the Chef’s commitment to “wood-fire” culinary excellence. 1-4 STORY HOTELS & TIMESHARE UNITS Facilities range from single story to four stories high, which house 6 to 16 units each. In addition to the timeshare units, CD Companies provided architectural and engineering services for the resorts’ core support and entertainment areas, including the water amenities, rooms, congretional spaces, member services, sales, and registration. To date, CD Companies has designed over 250 timeshare units in 13 resorts located in FL, GA, IL, MA, MO, PA, TX, and WI.

INTERIOR DESIGN FOR GUEST ROOMS, PUBLIC CORRIDORS, PUBLIC RESTROOMS, ELEVATOR LOBBIES AND PENTHOUSE SUITES The 236-room, 25-story Double Tree By Hilton, is located in the heart of New York City. The hotel is within an easy reach of New York’s business and leisure destinations, worldrenowned restaurants and museums -- and walking distance to Broadway attractions, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Penn Station, the Jacob Javits Convention Center and the Empire State Building. Celebrating its new affiliation with an array of new product, service and design enhancements throughout their properties, our firm was brough on to assist with updating and enhancing the visibility of their brand throughout the entire hotel. Featuring more than 1,600 SF of space, this was a massive interior renovation. Our scope included room remodels, public corridors, public restrooms, elevator lobbies and 2 penthouse suite remodels. Our team successfully created a fresh new interior experience, highly reflective of our clients brand.

VETERAN UNITY HOUSING

STUDIO & ONE-BEDROOM APARTMENTS FOR OUR VETERANS. The Unity Apartments project will consist of a mix of ~20 studio and one-bedroom residences, designed specifically to serve veterans who need assistance securing housing. In addition to the standard and accessible living units, amenities such as laundry facilities, flexible counseling space, outdoor activities, and a gym will be provided. The project proposes to re-purpose a decommissioned public school building, and will ideally become a model for many similar future developments.

6 NEW, GROUND-UP APARTMENT BUILDINGS Green Street’s “Union At The Grove” development is located at Forest Park. The development consists of six ground-up buildings, ranging between 2-4 stories. The buildings are located along Hunt, Vista, and Norfolk between Newstead and Taylor. The entire development consists of 160 new units, more than half of which workforce-targeted rents. Our division, ME/1 provided engineering design for each of the 6 multi-buildings. The total project, completed in 6 phases, included over 170,000 SF of conditioned space with a construction cost over $40 M.

NEW GROUND-UP 4-STORY APARTMENT COMPLEX CD Companies divisions, FACET, R|5 and ME/1 worked collaboratively with Lion Development Group, on a new ground up Apartment complex located in the growing metropolis of North Liberty Iowa. Penn Street Place is a 4 story 54,000 SF multifamily complex. Once complete in late 2022, the facility will offer new modern living options with 52 mixed one bedroom and two bedroom units. This new building takes advantage of the panoramic lake views with private balconies for each unit on the south side, and offers an urban presentation to the ever growing business community. The design incorporates corner elements that allow for light and views from multiple sides within the master bedroom suites. The new apartments are slated to open in 2024.

BEST BUY CD Companies began partnering with Best Buy Stores twelve years ago and remains a preferred architect and engineer for the company. CD Companies has provided facility expansion and down-size design, new ground-up design, and facility renovations for Best Buy Stores. Nearly 150 store design projects have been completed that included architectural design, structural design, and MEP engineering along with color 3-D rendering work. Most recently, starting in 2021, CASCO teamed with Best Buy to develop and implement online order pickup areas along with curb-side pick-up which included a designated staff area and new exterior exit point at multiple existing stores.

THE HOME DEPOT DESIGN CENTER HDDC’s 40,000 SF contemporary, boutique showroom is a marriage of artisan craftsmanship and modern architecture. The design brief mandated integrating the home into a gallery-like setting to encourage familiarity for visitors. This led us to investigate how users use their space at home and how we could best replicate this in the showroom while still showcasing multiple pieces. We carefully worked with fixture manufacturers to design each fixture to best fit the user, the space, and display the piece. The concept and design were also driven by a collaboration with trade partners supplying millwork, interior finishes and products.

ROOMS TO GO CASCO has partnered with Rooms To Go since 1990, and its predecessor Seaman Furniture since 1986. Our history with Rooms To Go is so extensive that we have remodeled and/or expanded showrooms that were done by CASCO originally as a new store. We work closely with our counterparts in Rooms To Go’s Real Estate, Design, and Construction departments; through all phases of each project, including: site development, building design, engineering, construction document preparation, project management, permitting, and construction. Our in-house team meets with members of the Rooms To Go Real Estate and Construction teams in person on an annual basis to discuss project status and lessons to be learned. CASCO has collaborated with Rooms To Go on hundreds of facilities in 11 southeast states and Puerto Rico. These include: 8,000 SF to 58,000 SF showrooms for adults, kids, and patio furnishings, either separate or combined; plus, Clearance Centers and Outlet Stores. STARBUCKS In 2006 Starbucks broke their long-standing tradition of producing construction documents in house. CASCO was selected to work with their Design Managers on all projects located in the Midwest four-state region. CASCO designed over 50 projects for Starbucks before they slowed their program in 2008. Over the past 8 years, CASCO has teamed with multiple developers for the design of Starbuck’s stand alone stores with drive-thru’s along the east coast, midwest, and southwest and is actively working on multiple locations today.

COST PLUS WORLD MARKET CASCO has completed several existing building renovations and ground-up projects for Cost Plus World Market, the parent company of Bed Bath & Beyond.
