Qualification description • This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities. • At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.
What are you supposed to do while being in your placement? • Unit of competency that will be covered in this placement are: ❖HLTWSH004- manage work health and safety ❖CHCDEV002- Analyse impacts of sociological factors on the clients in community work and services. • Make sure to go through your practical tasks before hand and be prepared. • Refer to logbook for more details

Come on time for your shift. Prepare for orientation day.
FIRST DAY
Small notepad and pen at all times. Be polite. Smile Ask questions if unclear.
Student ID • All students must wear identification whilst on placement but not on lanyards.
Uniform regulations
Wear cleanly washed uniforms, stain free and crease free (Polo shirt and black slacks)
Tuck in your uniforms.
Uniform guidelines
Wear closed leather shoes.
Random inspection will be done.
Jeans not allowed.
CORRECT UNIFORM
• AHIC UNIFORM – Plain White Polo Shirt with collar • CLEAN, STAIN FREE • CREASE FREE
• NO SHIRT, JEANS, SHORTS, TIGHT OR REVEALING CLOTHING • TROUSSERS SHOULD BE BLACK OR NAVY IN APPROPRIATE SIZE AND LENGTH • PLAIN BLACK, WATER PROOF WORKING SHOES – NO SLIPPERS ALLOWED • NURSES WATCH - NO WRIST WATCH ALLOWED

Look after your personal hygiene. You are expected to have high level of personal hygiene. Use Perfume/Cologne/Deodorant. Hair tied in a bun or ponytail.

Hair clip for short hair. No nail polish, fake and long nails allowed – trim your nails at all time No dangling earrings / fancy rings. Wedding rings accepted For Males, short and neat looking beard Apply lipstick for females. Random inspection will be done
MISCONDUCT IS NOT TOLERATED • NO Swearing • NO Violent and abusive language or physical behaviour • NO Rudeness • BE respectful to facility staff • DO NOT attend placement under the influence of alcohol or drugs

RESPECT
Absenteeism/Missed clinical placement • Student must communicate with their facilitator at the time of the absence. (Tupou or Rosie) • Notify first – Nursing Home Facility second – AHIC college • Absences may require full make up usually two-week duration even if it is making up a few hours.
