About Cougar Vision is the most unique program that Colonel By has to offer for students. Students who take the course gain the experience of creating a show every week, which is then presented to the entire school. The class is a very unique and beneficial experience for students interested in pursuing a career in film or cinematography. Cougar Vision is taught by Mr. Virgo.

Monday Show To start off the week, we have Monday show. Monday show is responsible for presenting the Cougar of the Week! Each week, a student may volunteer to become the Cougar of the Week, and is then interviewed for hobbies, interests, etc. This gives the students of Colonel By a unique opportunity to share things about themselves with the entire school! It also gives the Cougar Vision students an opportunity to interview and create a segment for a new student each week!

Tuesday Show Tuesday show continues the week with Sports desk, a segment about all of CB' s recent athletic achievements. Sports desk allows students to stay up to date with school sports, and also allows prospective athletes to get information about teams they might be interested in joining.

Wednesday Show Halfway through the week, we have Wednesday Show. Wednesday show has the unique segment Weigh in Wednesday, during which Cougar Vision students present the opinions of students, which have can be submitted using the google form on the CB website.

Thursday Show Approaching the end of the week, we have Thursday Show! Thursday show has the unique segment of Thursday Thought, in which a song is selected and shared with students.

Friday Show Finally, to finish off the week, we have Friday Show. Friday show usually goes out and visits a local restaurant, business or event, which allows the students at Colonel By to keep up with what' s going on in Ottawa.

Specials Video Video Of course, Cougar Vision doesn 't follow the same format all of the time. It' s time to mention the special segments that are prepared for holidays and the end of the year. These special episodes allow Cougar Vision students to exercise more creative ability, with the creation of long, unique skits and segments that bring depth to these original episodes.

High School Happenings, in its 8th season, is a 30 minute newsmagazine show produced entirely by Colonel By's Senior Broadcast Journalism Program called CougarVision. The show airs seven times a month on Rogers 22 Ottawa and showcases the stories, events, and people from high schools across the National Capital Region.

TESTEM CougarVision has been an amazing class that has offered me the chance to develop my skill set, such as responsibility, collaboration, and communication. It’s a more independent learning style that has allowed me to explore my own interests! Overall, it’s a great class. - Jaya

Why you should join As mentioned before, Cougar Vision is a very unique program that is offered only at Colonel By. The means that it is an excellent opportunity for film students. Cougar Vision is also a great way to gain real world experience quickly. How to join Students interested in taking Cougar Vision must take the Grade 11 Communication Technology Course - TGJ3M/E.
