WELCOME Dear Guest Welcome to Splendid Inn Bayshore. Thank you for choosing to stay with us, we trust that you will enjoy your stay. We have various room configurations options, please enquire at reception to ensure you have a room fulfilling your needs. In our efforts to provide exceptional service and to make you feel at home, I would like to remind you of all available facilities that we offer. Visit our non-smoking bar which has a fresh vibrant feel, while watching the news or sport on one of our 3 big screen TV’s. You can enjoy your morning coffee or one of our special cocktails. There is a pool table in the bar and a swimming pool past the bar veranda which are both available for your enjoyment. Our signature Cadillac Diner offers a full English breakfast daily and is open for Dinner every night. Every Wednesday evening is braai night at Splendid Inn Bayshore, served outside the Bar from 6:30 10:00pm The following items are available from reception: • Hairdryer • Iron and Iron board • Safe • Adaptor plugs Fisherman’s rules: • No bait or the catch of the day can be stored in your room - even if it is refrigerated. • Please enquire by reception regarding facilities available to store bait and your catch of the day - we will gladly look after the one that did not get away! ESSENTIAL INFORMATION As in most countries around the world we encourage you to exercise caution. •

Do not answer the bedroom door without verifying who is at the door. If a person claims to be an employee, call the front desk and ask if someone from the staff is supposed to have access to your room and for what purpose. Do not invite strangers into your room.



When returning to the Hotel late in the evening, use the main entrance of the Hotel. Be observant and look around before entering parking lots.



Close the door securely whenever you are in your room and use all the door locking devices. Check to see that windows, and any connecting room doors, are locked.



Do not needlessly display guest room key cards in public, or carelessly leave them on restaurant tables, or other places.



Do not draw attention to yourself by displaying large amounts of cash, expensive jewellery, cameras, etc. Place all valuables in the room safe provid ed.



Do NOT leave valuables in your car.



If you see any suspicious activity, report your observations to Management.



When using taxis use only clearly marked taxis or those recommended by the Hotel staff.



Do not walk alone on streets, particularly after dark.

FIRE EVACUATION

Fire Evacuation Procedure Splendid Inn Bayshore - Richards Bay has a sophisticated fire alarm and smoke detection system that monitors all parts of the building continuously. Fire instruction notices are prominently displayed on the guest room door. May we suggest that you take a few moments to read the instructions and familiarize yourself with the location of the nearest exit. Should you discover a fire Use the nearest phone to contact reception by dialling (9). Clearly state the location of the fire, giving the floor and room number nearest to the fire location as reference. Do not panic. Or Activate the fire alarm button located next to the emergency fire exits. A signal, which will pinpoint the location, will automatically be relayed to the fire panel. A fire alarm will then be activated. Do not fight any fires. Evacuate the area via the indicated fire escape. What to do when you hear the alarm On hearing a continuous alarm, an evacuation of the building is necessary. You must leave the building immediately using the nearest fire exit. Please remain calm. On exiting the building move quickly and proceed to the designated assembly area in front of the Hotel. Management will be on hand to conduct a guest and staff head count.

Advance Reservations For future reservations at Splendid Inn Bayshore, please dial 9 for reception, or email: [email protected] Air-Conditioning Dial (9) For your convenience all rooms are fully air conditioned with individual thermostat controls. The most comfortable temperature is 21’C. Should you require assistance, please dial 9 for reception. Please turn off your air conditioner when leaving the room. Airline Reservations Dial (9) To book, change or confirm airline reservations please contact Reception. Airport Transport Dial (9) To book, change or confirm airline transport please contact reception. Animals Guide dogs are permitted on the hotel premises. We regret that no other animals will be allowed. Baby-Sitting Dial (9) Should you require a baby-sitter for the evening please contact reception; before 12 o’clock. A baby-sitting fee of R50.00 per hour is payable directly to the baby-sitter. Baby Cots/Extra Bed Dial (9) Should you require the use of a Baby cot and a sleeper couch, please contact reception. Banking Services Dial (9) All major banks are represented in the CBD and Inkwazi shopping center. Our reception staff will gladly assist you with directions to your nearest branch.

Beach AlkantStrand is 1.5Km from the hotel and is known to be a very safe bathing area. We do however recommend that you not visit the beach alone after 18h00 Beauty Salon Our hotel does not offer these facilities but, our Reception staff will gladly assist you in making a reservation. Blanket / Pillow An extra blanket and pillow are available on request. Boat Trips Our reception staff will gladly assist you in making a reservation. Candles The hotel has a Generator which will provide electricity to all major service areas and rooms. Car Parking Parking is provided at no charge. Please make sure that all valuables are removed and that the vehicle is locked as we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage. Car Rental Our reception staff will gladly assist you in making a reservation. Check-Out Time Check-out time is 11h00. If this is not convenient, please enquire at Reception where every effort will be made to accommodate you. A late check-out charge may be charged. Church Services Our Reception staff will gladly assist you with directions. Comments To help us continue to provide you with the best in service and accommodation, please take a minute to write your comments and suggestions on the HOT or NOT questionnaire provided in this folder. Cultural Information Our reception staff will gladly assist you with information. Do Not Disturb If you do not wish to be disturbed, please indicate this by leaving the “Do not Disturb” card on the outside door handle of your room. Please note that if you have a “Do not Disturb” card on your door handle, your room will not be serviced until the card has been removed. If you do not wish to be disturbed by incoming telephone calls, please inform Reception. Doctor / Dentist / First Aid Dial A First Aid Kit is available at Reception for minor ailments and injuries. Should you discover a fire in the hotel, please contact Reception, vacate your room immediately and proceed directly to the assembly point. Fishing Dial Richards Bay is renowned for its abundance of fish and shellfish. Please contact Reception our Staff will gladly assist you with directions to popular fishing spots in the area. Florist Dial Our reception staff will gladly assist you in placing an order. Golf Richards Bay is fortunate to have its own 18-hole golf course. Our reception staff will gladly assist you with directions and making a reservation. Guest Supplies Additional guest supplies and toiletries e.g. razor, toothbrush, toothpaste etc, are available at Reception at an additional charge.

Gymnasium Our sister hotel Premier Hotel The Richards has a well equipped gym located on the second (2nd) floor. Please contact the Manager on Duty should you wish to make use of this facility Should you wish to visit a gymnasium of your choice, our Reception staff will gladly assist you with directions Hairdresser Our reception staff will gladly assist you in making a reservation. Hairdryer Hairdryers are provided in the Executive rooms only, if you require a hairdryer please contact reception, and they will gladly assist you. Housekeeping Dial (2473) Guest rooms are cleaned daily from 07h00 to 16h00. To request service at a specific time please dial 9. Incoming Calls If you are expecting a call while you are out of your room, please advise reception of your planned whereabouts so that there is minimal delay in contacting you. Key / Key Card Please remember that you may be asked to show your key or key card when charging items to your room, so we suggest you keep it with you at all times. Laundry / Valet / Dry Cleaning Laundry bags and lists are allocated in the cupboard. Same-day laundry and dry cleaning services are offered. Please place the laundry bag on your bed before 9h00 for collection. For special request please contact reception where every effort will be made to accommodate you. Library Our reception staff will gladly assist you with directions. Luggage Storage Arrangements may be made with Reception for temporary storage of luggage, packages and other articles. Please contact Reception if you need your luggage to be collected and stored. Please note that we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage. Mail & Messages Our Reception staff will gladly assist you with directions, to the nearest post office. Incoming mail and messages will be sent to your room.

Maintenance Great care is taken to ensure all equipment in your room is in good working order. Should you experience any problems, please contact Reception. Newspaper Local daily newspapers are available at reception. Pool Area & Towels All guests are welcome to utilise our pool area. Please note that children under 16 years of age are to be accompanied by an adult at all times. Pool towels are available from Reception. Please do not use your bathroom towels in the pool area. Safety Deposit Boxes We regret that we cannot accept responsibility for the loss of valuables left in guest’s rooms. (Please ensure that valuable are locked away in the safe provided in your room). If your rooms is not provided with a safe, please contact reception as limited lockable facilities are available at Reception. Security The bedroom doors in the hotel are self-locking. Please ensure that on leaving your room, you close your door behind you. Please ensure that you have your room key with you at all times. Similarly when entering your room, ensure the door is locked from the inside. Sport & Recreational Facilities The hotel has a swimming pool on the premises as well as a pool table and dart board in the bar Kindly contact Reception for more information. Nearby sporting facilities include tennis courts, an 18-hole golf course, squash and bowls. Our Reception staff will gladly assist you with directions.
