Nuclear Family My nuclear family consists of a dad (Bob), a mom (Alissa), and two younger sisters Lily (16) and Tessa (13). I am the oldest daughter as well. My sisters and I are very close in age, therefore, we have always been close to each other emotionally. How my parents raised me influenced who I am today.

Moms Extended Family I grew up as the oldest granddaughter on my moms side of the family. I spend almost all holidays with this side of the family. I have only girl cousins on this side and I am the oldest, the ages range from 5-17. My grandparents on this side of the family both came from a huge household. My grandpa (Papa) is one of five children and my grandma (Mami) is one of six.

Dads Extended Family I have one aunt and uncle on this side of the family. I am the oldest grandchild. I have two girl cousins and only one boy. My grandparents are divorced and one is remarried. We do not see this side of the family often because we all live in different states. However, my grandpa moved to Wisconsin and we see him often. He is also always invited to family gatherings with my moms side of the family.

Household Style My household is a bilateral household. My father and mother equally hold authority in running the house. My parents both clean and cook and take care of the kids.

Socioemotional Maintenance My mom and dad give me a lot of socioemotional maintenance. I feel like I can go to both of my parents if I need to talk about something important to me. They both also encourage me in my academics and education. Both of my parents are the caretakers and were both willing to stay home when any of their kids were sick, I would even say my dad was more likely to than my mom.

Relationship (Friends) Jaiden and I have grown up together since we were babies and I consider her to not only be my best friend but an older sister to me. My extended family considers her family apart of ours. Paige is one of my best friends. This relationship started in school and has evolved into such a strong bond and I am so happy I have this relationship with her. I really believe that your soulmate is your best friend. These relationships allow me to express myself and grow.

Relationship I think balance and communication is very important in a relationship. It is very important to me that my significant other wants children and that they respect my value and I respect theirs. I think family is the most important thing in life and my partner must respect and get along with them.
