The story of Pilke starts in the Finnish forests, birches and ash trees inspire our designers to create beautiful and intelligent Nordic Lightfulness. Pilke contains a number of product series in the lighting segment where the most famous series Signature is a combination of Finnish craft technology and ultra-modern computer geometry, created by designer Tuukka Halonen.

The founders Tuula Hocksell and Leena Liedenpohja know how to innovate Finnish wood design. Our light is inspiring, warm, unique and intelligent. This purpose has an impact on many designers and our products have been nominated for the DESIGN PLUS award in Frankfurt, GOOD DESIGN and GOOD GREEN DESIGN in Chicago and ECO DESIGN in Helsinki several times.

The material of the lamps is consistently FSC®-certified Finnish plywood and the composition enables luminaires that are designed completely without glue or screws. The lamps are put together by our local social work program in the south of Finland and is a way of raising the quality of handcraft in Finland. Pilke supports wellbeing by enchanting lighting, from a large public space to an intimate sanctuary.

Pilke is a part of Maze Interior since September 2021. The two brands share the same values in production and design – what Maze from the beginning calls Slow production. Local production, sustainable materials and no overproduction are some of key aspects in our production chain. We share an authentic, ambitious, and friendly culture and our mission is to create lights that lasts from generation to generation. Classics of tomorrow.
