SAVE TIME, MONEY AND EFFORT WITH QWOOD
So why use Qwood? It’s simple really... you’ll save time and money! We get it, at face value, the cost of a length of Qwood is more expensive than a timber bead. But if you take into account how labour-intensive running your own beading is as well as the waste created, Qwood really does make sense. We think the diagram below illustrates this perfectly.

ALL THAT TIME AND MONEY SAVED BY USING QWOOD
Not only will changing to Qwood save you time and money, there are also some great added benefits to using the only sustainable provider of FSC Chain of Custody timber composite beading profiles in the world. Qwood has also proven to reduce site visits for remedial issues. For example shrinking beads, refilling pin holes and glazing beads popping off. Below are some of those key benefits that will benefit you as a manufacturer and the product you supply to your customers.
BENEFITS DOES NOT ROT FSC/PEFC CERTIFIED CONSISTENTLY STRAIGHT NO SANDING OR PRE-PAINT PREPARATION NO PINNING ON CLIP BEAD PROFILES MINIMAL EXPANSION OR CONTRACTION MORE PROFILES THAN ANY OTHER SYSTEM ON THE MARKET
GLAZING BEADS & BARS Qwood glazing beads and bars are a great alternative to timber beads for various reasons. Our customers say they would never go back to running their own beading after trying Qwood. The main reason being, they just don’t get the issues they do with timber beads as Qwood doesn’t rot or warp due to weathering. Costly remedial site visits to replace glazing bead that has started to lift from the glass is a thing of the past when using Qwood. Whether you go for our pinless (clip-in) profiles or pinned beads, (including our new secret pinned profiles) we’re sure you’ll be impressed with how good a product Qwood is.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT QWOOD
“Since adopting Qwood for our glazing beads and Georgian bars we have seen a significant reduction in remedial call outs, this is due to the stability of the Qwood product in comparison to running our own timber beads. We’ve also increased our efficiency and profitability, due to not having to machine our own beads and complete all of the necessary processes to get a finished product. At JTP we have saved time, money and process which for a very busy joinery like ourselves is priceless. We have used Qwood on our Doors and Windows, both casement and sliding sash for the last 3 years and would never go back to running our own beads and bars.”
“We started using Qwood around 2013. It made quite a big difference for us because every joiner knows that it’s not very easy to produce small sections through the planer, through the spindle moulder. The other thing was the consistency of Qwood. With Qwood, every piece is the same. We don’t have to worry about running out; because we can buy at the end, we can always have plenty of stock. This is great for us and saves a lot of time. With Qwood, I haven’t been called back to one job to re-stick a bar on. When we were making bars out of timber I’d constantly be going back to sites. Plus, we don’t do have to do any priming of the beads. We definitely wouldn’t go back to using timber.”
Phil Sheppard, JTP Joinery
Chris Owen, TK Joinery
“We started off using Qwood glazing beads on our windows and doors 5 or 6 years ago, and it’s grown from there. We use many Qwood products, but the core ones are glazing beads and Georgian bars, along with sash window parting and staff beads. These profiles have become a critical part of our products. Everybody knows that timber beads can have their downsides, such as twists and defects, and sometimes movement after they have been fitted. Qwood beading eradicated those issues, and has given us consistency in the finish. This consistency is the core benefit that Qwood has brought us. It’s easy to use, easy to paint, and it has provided the durability and sustainability that we want to put into our products for our clients. I would absolutely recommend Qwood to other joineries.” Robin, Moulder Joinery
