2.5 Defending Your Position (updated) More than one change of direction to defend a position is not permitted. Any driver moving back towards the racing line, having earlier defended their position, should leave at least one car width between their car and the edge of the track. Any driver defending their position on a straight, and before any braking area, may use the full width of the track during their first move, provided there isn’t sufficient overlap. Blocking is not permitted at any time. You are entitled to choose your racing line, and positioning your car on the inside line in a fair manner to defend your position. However, you must position your car on this defensive line before the trailing driver attempts to pass you, and not as a reaction to their attempt. The defending driver must not make any malicious or inappropriate braking or slowing maneuvers. Leading drivers must never ‘brake test’ the car(s) behind them, swerve or change line in a braking zone, or try to break a tow by weaving. The leading driver is entitled to be

2.7 Recovering from an Incident A driver recovering from an incident and returning to the track must not impede any other car that is running in a proper racing line. If there is not an opportunity to safely rejoin the track, you must wait until it is safe to do so. If two or more cars involved in a position battle together leave the track for any reason, they must rejoin in the order they left the track and without gaining an advantage. However, if the lapping car regains pace and catches back up to you, you must again allow it to pass.
If a position is gained by running off track, you must redress that position. 2.9 Quality of connection It is up to each driver to ensure their connection to the server is above the FRG minimum standard. 5. Behaviour 5.1 Rage Quiting
*** This is very important so please take note *** The FRG series organisers work in their own time, for free, to bring you the best open wheel experience possible. We organise funding to keep our events free for everyone. Rage quitting or disconnecting before the end of the event is seen as a disrespectful act
12
and looks bad in the broadcast. There is no reason you should be quitting because you are having a poor race.
If for any reason you don’t want to continue, we ask that you park your car in the pits for the
remainder of the race and watch the broadcast. You are encouraged to jump into the green room to talk to Racestars TV or get onto the chat on the broadcast service.
Rage quitting after being handed a penalty is considered a huge insult to race organisers and other drivers. Severe Penalties will be applied for rage quitting.
We understand that there are unique situations where this cannot be avoided. If so please request to be excused by Race Control via the comms channel before disconnecting, or in the case of a catastrophic failure, message FRG in the Discord chat.

9. SAFETY CAR F3A | 12 will feature a manual Safety Car. The application of the FRG safety car is that we are ‘guided’ by what happens in the real world. Our SC guidelines are:- Only if there is a wreck on the racing line or in a position considered highly dangerous should a Safety Car be considered. If it’s off the road it’s more likely controlled by a local yellow. We always try to avoid a late race Safety Car intervention as we believe races should finish under green flag conditions whenever possible. 9.1 safety car Procedure Safety Car Initiation. The Safety Car period will be initiated as soon as you hear the “SAFETY CAR, SAFETY CAR, SAFETY CAR” call from Race Control on the comm’s channel. It will shortly be followed by a confirmation text message. Immediately upon the audio call (not the text

Race Control will inform the leader that the Safety car is pulling away and to hold speed. Once the Safety Car is in the pits, Race Control will call ‘LEADER HAS CONTROL’ and the nominated lead car may restart the event by accelerating at their discretion. At this point “GREEN, GREEN, GREEN” will be called by Race Control, the race will resume, and all cars will be free to overtake. You do not need to wait to cross the start/finish line. In the event of comms failure from Race Control, overtaking will be allowed after the start/finish line.

Once you’re in the line behind the Safety Car there’s no need to panic. Don’t worry about gaps in the line unless it’s about to go green and don’t try to sit right up close to the car in front. The line is naturally going to slow down and speed up, if you drop off the back of the line when this happens then don’t floor it to catch back up as this makes the problem even worse for the people behind you. There’s no rush, just cruise back up to the line and take it easy. You’ll get plenty of notice before the race goes green, so up until that point there’s no reason to panic. You MUST be able to hear Race Control over comms. This is clearly defined in these rules and it is the primary mechanism we use to communicate with drivers. When the Safety Car is called it is over the Race Control channel first and then the text second. The text is there as a backup for when the radio comms aren’t working and it is delayed by a few seconds. You need to be able to hear the Race Control channel clearly and need to keep the radio channel clear during the race (especially at critical times like safety car periods). You don’t need to remind Race Control about lapped traffic, we have a very clear Safety Car procedure that we follow that even defines the specific wording that we use, so we “shouldn’t” ever forget to let drivers unlap themselves.
Safety Car until instructed to overtake the Safety Car by Race Control . you will be expected to proceed at speed, but with caution to form up in single file at the rear of the queue behind the safety car.

9.1 Going Green At a point well in advance of the end of the lap, Race Control will inform the field that we will be “GOING GREEN THIS LAP”, At this point all cars may close the gap to the car in front, but are still not permitted overlap or to overtake until the GREEN has been called. In the event of comms failure from Race Control, overtaking will be allowed after the start/finish line.
message) all competing cars must cease racing, reduce speed and proceed with caution to form up single file behind the safety car. No overtaking is permitted till the race returns to Green. IMPORTANT SAFETY CAR NOTES FROM RACE CONTROL. Pits are always open. During Safety Car period the pits will remain open, unless the pit entry or exit access is blocked. If so, you will be informed via Race Control on the comm’s channel that ‘Pits

braking. Vehicles should never be more than 10 car lengths apart while under safety car. Overlap. Overlap between vehicles is NOT permitted during the safety car period for any reason. Overlap will only be allowed once the race has returned to Green. Weaving Weaving is permitted, however it must stop upon commencement of the ‘Wave Through’ procedure. Wave Throughs. All lapped cars will be waved through with a single command. Lapped cars will be instructed by Race Control to line up on the right side of the road while unlapped line up on the left side of the road. All competitors must cease weaving at this point. The wave through will be initiated by Race Control calling “ALL LAPPED CARS MAY NOW UNLAP THEMSELVES”. Drivers are to show caution until past the Safety Car.
