“Gran Fondo” or Big Ride El Gran fondo es un evento de larga distancia, en el cual participan una gran cantidad de ciclistas, pero no es una competencia. El Gran Fondo es un evento muy popular en Francia, conocido como “ Ciclosportifs” en bici de ruta o MTB. Gran fondo esta abierta a todos los niveles de ciclistas, aficionados y profesionales. También existe El Medio fondo que ofrece una salida con todo el entusiasmo y los desafíos del gran fondo pero con una distancia menor.. Costa Rica’s First Gran Fondo... Ahora esta exitoso evento ciclístico llega a Costa Rica! Cada participante lleva un chip medidor de tiempo, esto asegura la clasificación de los participantes. Al igual que en Italia, cada Gran fondo incluye nuevas rutas, fantásticos regalos, una exposición de los patrocinadores, una completa asistencia, apoyo mecánico y mucha diversión.
La Expo TRANSBIKE es una exposición de marcas de consumo, con accesorios y productos nutricionales. Usted puede encontrar buenas ofertas en ropa, equipo y mucho más. La exposición también sirve como lugar para los participantes para recoger su dorsal y el chip de cronometraje.

Program Un diploma se otorga a cada participante asi que regalos de los patrocinadores a cada mejor tiempo de cada categorias, el mejor tiempo general tiene un bici LOOK (valor 4500$) . Tiempos y clasificación por categorías se establecen según la hora oficial de salida y en el orden de paso por la línea de meta.

Day program Saturday May 1 : SAMARA -6:00 am to 8:00 am breakfast. -9:00 to 10:00 assembly and bicycle adjustment. -10:00 to 12:00 short relaxing ride of 30 - 40 km. -12:00 to 2:00 lunch. -12:00 to 6:00 Village fair, race number pick up, beach and relaxation. -6:00 to 8:00 dinner, presentation and inauguration.
Sunday May 2 : ARENAL -4:00 am to 5:00 am breakfast. -6:00 departure. -Arrivals and lunch from 11:30. -3:00 awards, medals
