All equipment reservations must be approved by Ms. Heischober or Mrs. Windish to help you find the tools that best suit your needs and provide a brief overview of the resources you plan to use.

HP OMEN OBELISK COMPUTERS The Global Communications Lab houses two HP Omen Obelisk desktop computers to use for content creation and editing. These computers are great if you have a project that requires any video or audio editing that’s too intense for the Chromebooks. Please note that these computers remain fixed in the room and must be used during school hours or with permission after school.

GREEN SCREEN You have access to one very large, portable green screen and stand. This backdrop lets you add in whatever background images you want behind the actors in the foreground. Record your footage in front of the green screen, then edit in your background using WeVideo on the desktop computers or iMovie on the new iPad Pros. When a background isn’t available—like a fictional, historic, futuristic or even just hard-to-access location—green screen comes to the rescue!

RICOH THETA 360° CAMERA The Ricoh Theta 360° camera allows anyone to easily capture high-quality spherical images and videos. It snaps photos at approximately 14 megapixels 360°video in 4K. The GCL has one of these cameras available to check out. Pair it with the Ricoh Theta app on your smartphone or one of the new iPad Pros to save and share your shots. Then upload for editing, creating Google Earth projects, or design interactive 360° tours in ThingLink.

BLUE YETI PODCASTING MIC Check out one of four of the GCL’s podcasting microphones and start creating unparalleled recordings with your computer. The microphones produce pristine, studio-quality recordings with incredible ease. These mics have a variety of settings that offer great flexibility so you can record vocals for music, podcasts, YouTube videos, and so much more! Using WeVideo’s podcast option and reserving space in the GCL’s soundproof room will get you studio-quality recordings every time.

WIRELESS MIC & RECEIVER Have to record video for a class project, but need a stronger microphone than what your phone or camera has to offer? The GCL has nine extremely small, wireless microphone system that delivers broadcast-quality sound to use with cameras and mobile devices.

iPAD PROS Reserve one of five iPad Pro tablets to record, edit, create, and design to your heart’s content. These powerful tools are the perfect canvas for any project. When reserving these devices, be sure to list any apps you may need too. All apps must be on the approved software list or be submitted for approval before being added to the iPad. iPads also have Apple pencils for digital design.

Phone Gimbals The GCL is home to two DJI Om 5 gimbals, or video recording stabilizers, that are compatible with your cellphone’s camera or the DJI app! Create smooth shots with the built-in stabilization. The gimbal also has a universal tripod mount and extension pole for catching every angle!

MAKERBOT SKETCH 3D PRINTER The GCL has one 3D printer and plastic filament in a variety of colors so students can generate prototypes and models for class projects. Take your digital ideas and make them a reality with Tinkercad and 3D printing!

QBall Interactive Microphone The GCL is fully stocked with five QBall kits, which includes the microphone ball, receiver, and a UV charging and sanitizing case! Use this throwable, kickable, interactive microphone at your next event to get your audience up and interacting! These are great when presenting in large spaces with audience participation.

OWL 360° Meeting Camera Hosting a virtual meeting? Having a guest speaker on Zoom? Connect the Owl Meeting Camera to any device you’re using to join a virtual meeting and it will automatically pick up a 360° view of the room and auto-focus on whoever’s talking!
