Las Vegas showcases some of the best dining options in the world, and the holidays are no exception. From decadent to reasonable, here is a condensed list of some of the area’s spirited selections. Lawry’s Holiday Dinner Theater presents Dicken’s classic “A Christmas Carol.” Diners enjoy a choice of roasted prime rib or salmon with signature sides while journeying back in time during the adapted performance. Reservations required.

Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar offers The Feast of Seven Fishes traditional dinner on Christmas Eve starting at $125 per person. Tournament of Kings “ ‘Twas the Knight” invites all guests to “eat, drink and be merry,” during this annual holiday treat. Indulge in a three-course feast while watching the legend

The festive holiday-themed pop-up outdoor lounge features seasonal craft libations paired with scrumptious fare and holiday bites. Igloos can be reserved in two-hour blocks. Fire pits and an all-new holiday hot chocolate cart complete the seasonal experience. Fine holiday dining at MGM Grand Hotel tantalizes the tastebuds. Ambra Italian Kitchen is serving charred octopus, lamb shank osso bucco and mini panettone, a decadent cranberry, pistachio and white chocolate dessert. TAP Sports Bar menu choices include truffle mac and cheese bites, French onion soup and blackened ribeye. Highlights for the MGM Grand Buffet Christmas Day Brunch include cashewencrusted mahi-mahi with pineapple salsa, chicken cacciatore and butter-basted turkey. Entertainment Winter will be the season of musicals, sports and holiday lights By Buck Wargo

The holidays are here and there’s plenty of entertainment for couples, families and friends. Ethel M Chocolates in Henderson is hosting its annual Holiday Cactus Lights Nov. 4-Jan. 1 with a $1 entry fee per person. The Ice Rink at The Cosmopolitan reopens Nov. 15 for skaters, with local residents paying $20 for all-day access. New shows are debuting on the Strip this holiday season. Lin-Manuel Miranda of Hamilton fame will feature “Freestyle Love Supreme” that opens Nov. 10 at The Venetian with tickets available at venetianlasvegas. com. People enjoy the lights of the Ethel M Chocolates’ annual Holiday Cactus Lights during a previous holiday.

Concerts include Adele in November and December at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Others include Train at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, The Jonas Brothers at Dolby Live, Billy Idol at the Chelsea, Wiz Khalifa at Drai’s

Nightclub, Aerosmith at Dolby Live, Luke Bryan at Resorts World, Miranda Lambert at Zappos Theater. George Strait will perform at T-Mobile Arena and Andrea Bocelli at MGM Garden Arena. Bruno Mars will perform at Dolby Live Dec. 30th and 31st. Comedian Kevin Hart will appear at Resorts World in November. Adam Sandler will be at The Chelsea. The Golden Knights will host games in November and December. The Las Vegas Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament at The Orleans is set for Nov. 25-26. In December, the National Finals Rodeo will return to Las Vegas from Dec. 1 to 10 at Thomas & Mack. The Pac 12 football championship is Dec. 2 at Allegiant Stadium, which will host the Las Vegas Raiders over the last two months of the year.

Charity Charity events help keep the holidays bright By Valerie Putnam

Santa runs, twinkling lights and toy drives. Many local organizations host seasonal events to help thousands of families in need throughout the community. Here is a short list of ways to enjoy holiday fun while giving back. Celebrating its 31st season, the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village impacts the lives of over 3,000 people with disabilities. Enjoy a stroll through the winter wonderland featuring millions of sparking lights, rides, food and holiday cheer all the while knowing the price of admission goes toward helping those in need. Runners begin the race during The Las Vegas Great Santa Run on Dec. 4, 2021, in downtown Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation’s Holiday Gift & Give promotes community and police engagement while lifting the spirits of thousands of local families in need. Donations support the distribution of holiday meals and provide gifts for children. Enjoying a drive through the millions of glittering lights during the Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s Glittering Lights display. It supports several area organizations, such as

Children in foster care who have a CASA volunteer are more likely to succeed in school and adjust to change. And they’re half as likely to re-enter the foster care system later. As a volunteer, you can make all the difference for a child who has experienced abuse or neglect in your community. Get involved, and change a child’s story.

Speedway Children’s Charities, Goodwill of Southern Nevada and Boy Scouts of America. Goodwill of Southern Nevada offers a $5 entry discount in exchange for donated items. Fremont Street comes alive with the Las Vegas Great Santa Run on Dec. 3. The Fun Run sets the stage for the season, with a portion of the proceeds supporting Opportunity Village. Providing toys to children in at-risk communities, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission accepts donations to support its Toy Giveaway. The Giveaway occurs Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at Cashman Field, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. Children must be present to receive gifts. The organization also accepts donations and volunteers to support its annual Christmas season meal on-site at the Mission on Dec. 23 from 4-6:30 p.m. The Henderson Equality Center’s third annual Christmas Toy Drive and Distribution Event deadline is Dec.16. The toys will be distributed on Dec. 18 to families.
