President’s Consensus Dear Friends and IAP Members WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I am so happy that the action plan Synergy has started and gained great momentum in the previous month, despite the busy schedule of our members. Synergy 23,The 1st action plan benefitting IAPmembers, PGs and Parents has been launched. IAP Kerala has released 3 sotware applications on 27th December 2022 in dIAP platform. The apps were released by our CIAP National President Dr. Remeshkumar R. It was attended by CIAP President elect Dr. UpendraKinjiwadekar, HSG Dr. VineetSaxena, our Past National presidents DR. M K C Nair, Dr. T U Sukumaran, Dr. S S Kammath and more than 250 IAPians. The new venture was very well appreciated by the national leaders. On behalf of IAP Kerala, I express special congratulations and gratitude to Dr. PeterVazhayil, who have developed these three apps for IAP Kerala. This month, I had the honour of attending meetings in 3 northern branches of IAP Kerala in one day; on 4th December. On this day, at 10. 30 am, I have inaugurated IAP Kasargode activities by installing new team under the leadership of Dr. Gopalakrishna P as president, Dr. NarayanaNaik as secretary and Dr. JithendraRai as Treasurer and I would like express special appreciation to Dr. Preema and Dr. Harris for excellent activities last year. On the same day by 3. 30pm, I could attend the inauguration function of IAP Kannur branch by inaugurating the CIAP action plan module and IAP branch activities 2023. Special gratitude to Dr. AjithMenon, Dr. Mridula, Dr. AjithSubhash, Dr. PadmanabhaShenoy, Dr. Subramanian and Dr. ArunAbhilash for the excellent hospitality and wonderful arrangements. The day ended by attending the installation ceremony at 7. 30 PM at IAP Thalassery branch. A big thanks to IAP Thalassery team lead by Dr. JohnySebastian, Dr. Sakkariya, Dr. DhanyaChandran, Dr. ShyamDr. Jalalludin, Dr. Santhosh M K and whole team of IAP Thalassery branch for all arrangements for the installation ceremony. IAP Kerala Synergy second major action plan, Adoption of a Tribal Colony at Wayanad was inaugurated on 10th December 2022, 2. 30 pm by distributing 30 blankets which was donated by IAP Wayanad Branch. I express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to IAP Wayanad team lead by Dr. Madusoodanan, Dr. Vijayan, Dr. Vishnu Mohan, Dr. Nimmy, Dr. Suraj, Dr. Krishna Priya and Dr. Yeswanth Kumar for the fantastic activities. On the same day at 7. 30 PM I have inaugurated IAP Wayanad branch activities by installing new team of IAP Wayanad under the leadership of Dr. Nimmy and Dr. Krishna Priya I wish the new teamall the best in the coming year. On14th December, I have attended the AAP activities along with National president Dr. Remeshkumar R. A warm reception was arranged at AAP for me and National President Dr. Remeshkumar. It was a huge honor for me and I thank the whole team of AAP for the wonderful arrangements done under the leadership of Dr. Sreeprasad, Dr. Anil Vincent and Dr. Ansha. 3rd Major action in Synergy, Adolescent sexual education module , has prepared by HA chapter of kerala under the leadership of Dr. Ranjith, Dr. Deepa J , Dr. Shibu K, Dr. Vijayakuamr M, Dr. Vidhu, Dr. Sreeprasad. T G, Dr. Johny Sebastian, Dr. Mohandas Nair, Dr. Sreela & Dr. Sajina. Special thanks to Dr. Sreela, Dr. RanjithDr. Vidhu, Dr. Dhanya for conducting workshop in schools before state level inauguration of the action plan. And this month IAP kerala and AHA has jointly conducted state level release of module on “Protective factors in Adolescents” on 21/12 2002 at ZOOM platform hosted by IAP kasargode branch. The Academic deliberations were done by experts in that field like Dr. Krishnakumar P, Dr. Nisha Krishnan, Dr. Anas K &Dr. Nimmy Joseph, the program was attended by more than 60 IAPians The IAP Kerala action plan R DIET programme was inaugurated at Holy Family L P School on 14th December 2022 at 2.30 pm. The programme was inaugurated by Mrs. SheryBhargavan, Muncipal Chairperson and awareness class done by Dr. Venkiteswrarn M N, State coordinator of R DIET program. Congratulations to Dr. AnilVincent for that wonderful arrangement done for that activities. Dr Rugmini K, President gave the Presidential address . She breifed about the last 1 year activities and thanked all the IAP thiruvanthapuram members for their whole hearted suppport and participation . Medical College, Alappuzha in association with IAP Alappuzha. Dr. Sheeja Sugunan, Pediatric Intensivist, SAT Hospital Trivandrum delivered the talk on ‘Fluid therapy in critically ill’. She explained the topic in a really simple manner with case scenarios. IAP ALAPPUZHA RESPICON 2022 Dr.Jose.O, President, IAP Kerala as a faculty at Respicon, 34th annual conference of IAP National Respiratory chapter held at Chennai on 16th- 18thDecember 2022. He delivered a talk on „Anaphylaxis‟. Family meetup of Dialysis patients at Taluk Hospital, Cherthala An annual family meet up was organised for the patients attending the dialysis unit at Taluk Hospital, Cherthala on 18th December as part of Christmas and New year celebrations. The programme was organised by the hospital administration and staff at dialysis unit. The programme was inaugurated by Municipality Chairman and felicitation offered by Dr.Anil Vincent, Consultant Pediatrician Taluk Hospital, Cherthala. It is the first model project in India where a professional organisation joins with State TB Cell to implement PMLTBI in children under the age of 15. Now extended to 18. ActuallyKeral implemented PMLTBI even before publication of National guidelines, with special permission from CTD. The initiative started under the presidential action plan of Dr M.Narayanan.
