FROM THE DESK OF PRINCIPAL July 2022 “Budding

leaders are ready to take challenges… A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a creator of consensus!” Dear JVM Community, The art prevails in the present generation and as the Head of the school I could witness the same with the new line of leadership. The young leaders holding the flag high make us feel that each one of them is rational and knows the road map to achieve what he/she strives for. The only thing they look upon us is to hold them tight in state of confusion. Young leaders have ability to plan things strategically and believe in teamwork. These leaders with beautifully nurtured mindset are not only capable to rectify an issue but also to eliminate it. We look forward at student leaders coming up with innovative ideas to transform and inspire the team to scale new heights of glory! God bless! Smt. Ashi Gaur

VICE-PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE August June 2022 2022

Educational institutions occupy a special place in our community. Besides being temples of learning, they help in moulding the personality of young and impressionable minds by inculcating the virtues of Integrity, Character, Honour and Self Respect. They undertake all round development of our children and make them worthy citizens of tomorrow; something that the nation can be rightfully proud of. I am glad to note continued impetus being accorded to further improving the learning environment at Jindal Vidya Mandir Salav. I am hopeful that infrastructural improvements, innovations and other initiatives underway will further boost inquisitiveness and keep alive the quest for knowledge amongst students. My heartfelt gratitude is due to the school management for their invaluable support and guidance. I thank the esteemed parent body, staff members and students for their relentless support in making Jindal Vidya Mandir, Salav what it is today—a great institution. I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the staff and students of Jindal Vidya Mandir. I wish the school continued success in all its endeavours. May the school continue to scale greater heights in the years ahead. Thank you, MANGESH BAMNOTE DVP JVM SALAV

EDITOR’S NOTE August 2022 Dear Readers, Greetings! History has witnessed the power of pen from time to time which has not only crashed down supreme swords of the world but has also exhibited power to overturn thrones of despotism. The first Indian to publish a newspaper was Gangadhar Bhattacharya who brought out in 1818 ‘Digdarshan’ as the first Bengali weekly editorial published in English. The flame of freedom was struck long back through these words of print which rather assumed the face of an uncontrollable wild fire and resulted in the evolution of the world’s largest democracy. The youth today needs to kindle the same flame to bring about a change…..a change to perceive the world as one with all its biotic and non-biotic components. To adore and preserve mother nature and to emerge as valued global citizens. We are the sculptures of our destiny. So with this small endeavour, we present before you the LAKSHYA AUGUST 2022 Edition on the occasion when India celebrates its 75 years of Independence, JVM feels immense pleasure to provide this emagazine as a platform where thoughts are exchanged and many new ideas take birth. We might not be those iron men but we do have our aspirations cast in wrought iron to inspire, to imitate and to re-live like those brave achievers.

Ms. Erum Shahzad PGT English, Hons. M.A (Eng. Lit.)B.Ed.

STEWARD’S NOTE August June 2022 2022

I, Vanshika Mhatre, the School Captain of Jindal Vidya Mandir, Salav for the session 2022-2023, aim to pass on the incredible values, lessons and experiences that this school has showered on me. I want to foster a space where students are empowered, united and fearless to find out and do what they love. Today on being asked as to what I love the most about the school, I want to say… I love the walls, the soft board of my class, the fans which keep me just cool in the midst of summer; Yes I love every little leaf that grows in my school premises, I love it all. I hope to successfully discharge all my duties as the school captain for this academic session. I have no doubt that by the end of this year, we shall conquer unexplored heights and realise our vision of JVM's glory together. In the end, I take an oath to serve my school to the best of my abilities. Today, I can hear of words of Niccolo Machiavelli softly ringing in my ears “It is not titles that honour men but men that honour titles”.

-Vanshika Mhatre Class XII Science School Captain

LEADER’S OUTLOOK August June 2022 2022

I take this opportunity to express my gratitude and feelings of elation towards our Principal, all teachers and the students for conferring me with responsibilities of school sports captain for the academic session 2022-23 Being appointed as the sports captain of the school is indeed a great achievement for me; and the very fact has helped me increase my confidence and determination. It not only gave me motivation to do well in school but in all spheres of life .Values play one of the most important role in society and determine the overall growth and personality of an individual. A person with good values is an asset not only to the society but to the nation as well. I am thankful to this institution which nurtured me with good values to serve the society. I am blessed to be guided by my teachers who put in their soul and gave me their best possible . My accomplishments are, without a doubt, due to support and encouragement of my teachers. It is a matter of immense joy that I have got- where I can share my thoughts. As a Sports Captain, I feel that Sports are an active endeavour . I feel that the new one should come into the field and repeated participants should be avoided. Playing any sports requires training. As at school level only the participants who have the knowledge about sports make up to the sports field. I conclude my message addressing my peers - Do not focus on what you cannot do; take a look at what you are capable of. You will feel confident and learn new things along your way. JAI HIND Aastik Singh Class XII Science, Sports Captain.

GLIMPSES OF EVENTS August 2022 INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY - 2022 @JVM, Salav. The goal of International Youth Day 2022 is to raise awareness of the need for action across all generations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ensure that no one is left behind. Additionally, ageism, which affects both young and old people and has a negative influence on society as a whole, was brought to light as one of the obstacles to inter- generational unity. International Youth Day served as a platform to recognize and mainstream the voices, efforts, and actions of young people as well as their substantive, inclusive, and equitable engagement. This year, the theme for International Youth Day is "Intergenerational solidarity: Creating a world for all ages”. Besides, the UN also believes that “solidarity across generations is key for sustainable development” The major issue being Generation Gap which hinders individual progress. So, a short programme was held by the students- Dimple Inda, Abhinav Agashe & Vaibhavi Dayala belonging to class 9 for the adolescent students to help them overcome generation gap issues and rather convert this weakness into their strength. The theme was to encourage effective decision making strategy by essencing it with the experience of the older generation. The programme was followed by a short drawing and painting competition where each one gave a vent to their feelings regarding the theme of the day.
