Visit A New To You Winery One of our favorite things about living in Sedona is its proximity to so many wineries in Cornville. Within minutes, you can try wines at D.A. Ranch, Oak Creek Vineyards & Winery, Javelina Leap Vineyard and Page Springs Cellars. Cove Mesa is building a new tasting room that should be open soon. If you’re not sure where to start, consider grabbing a map and hitting the Verde Valley Wine Trail. Recreation The Joy Of Sedona Golf Whoever called golf “a good walk spoiled” never shot a round in Sedona. There’s just no way to spoil a walk in these parts. Every

PAGE. 16 LUXURY PROPERTIES OF NORTH SCOTTSDALE GUIDE TO Sedona saunter in the red rock wonderland is spectacular whether you’re on a hiking trail or strolling up a fairway. In addition to the unparalleled scenery, mild temperatures and over 300 days of sunshine each year make Sedona a golfer’s paradise. A handful of beautifully engineered courses fringe the edge of town allowing quick access while providing dramatic panoramas of the famous red rock formations. The Sedona courses range from traditional links-style layout to target courses. They will challenge your skills while creating a memorable vacation getaway. Sedona Golf Resort flows through a juniper-strewn valley overlooking an eruption of coral cliffs. The championship course adjacent to the Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock receives a continuous fourstar rating from Golf Digest. Seven Canyons is an acclaimed Tom Weiskopf-designed course with a stunning layout and classic feel. Seven Canyons is a private golf club open only to members and guests of Enchantment Resort. Views are never more than a chip shot away at Oakcreek Country Club, where tree-lined fairways lead to elevated greens. A classic player-friendly design, this was Sedona’s first golf course. Somehow the 9-hole executive gem at Canyon Mesa Country Club strikes that delicate balance as a couplesfriendly yet challenging course. The short length makes Canyon Mesa good for novices but its narrowness and difficult greens makes it perfect for target golf as well. The best thing about golfing Sedona is that players are given an irrefutable excuse for a lousy round. All they have to do is admit the truth: It’s very hard to concentrate because of the breath-snatching scenery. Maybe granting a mulligan or two for the staggering beauty isn’t a bad idea. Recreation activities abound in Northern Arizona. You’ve probably gone hiking many times, but there’s probably also plenty you haven’t done. From horseback riding to paddle boarding, here’s how to recreate in new ways. Go Horseback Riding To see the Sedona area’s scenery in a new way, consider going horseback riding. M Diamond Ranch in Rimrock offers horseback riding tours of the area. Wild Western Horseback Adventures in Camp Verde sells moonlight rides during when there’s a, you guessed it, full moon high in the sky and a one hour cowboy ride through the Mingus Mountains. Go Rock Climbing Northern Arizona is home to many different types of rock that make it an ideal place for rock climbers to explore. Flagstaff is home to indoor climbing gyms including Flagstaff Climbing, Main Street Boulders

For more information or to advertise in our other upcoming publications, email [email protected] PAGE. 17 and Beta Bouldering Gym. Outdoor climbing is another option. Camp Overnight You’ve probably spent plenty of time hiking in Sedona, but how many times have you camped in town? If you’ve never slept out under the stars, October provides optimal weather. Sedona features a handful of campsites including the Chavez Crossing Group Campground in Central Sedona and Manzanita Campground in Oak Creek Canyon. Both offer scenic views and a chance to see the city in a new way. Go Stand Up Paddle boarding Paddle boarding has grown in popularity in recent years, and it’s not hard to see why. Paddle boarding is easy to learn – you simply stand up and paddle in the water. Sedona Adventure Tours offers a Paddle to Vine Experience. Park your car at Alcantara Vineyards, and then paddle down two miles of the Verde River as you pass limestone and sandstone cliffs. Post paddle boarding, enjoy wine from Alcantara. Take A Yoga Class With A Twist To shake up your yoga practice, consider taking a different kind of yoga. Sedona Hot Yoga in West Sedona has hot yoga, yin yoga and goddess yoga on the schedule. Head outdoors to take a vortex yoga tour that will take you outdoors to places where supposed various Sedona vortices lie. Once there, you can practice yoga with the Vortex Yoga Hiking tour company. Where to Stay in Sedona – Neighborhoods & Area Guide Sedona is referred to by locals as ‘the most beautiful place on earth’, and they do have a point. The rusty, rugged landscapes of Sedona are some of the most impressive of the Mountain States. With hiking, biking and climbing trails crisscrossing the area, you’re never too far away from a new and exciting challenge. Did you know that you can even ski near Sedona? What makes Sedona even more incredible is that it is just a stone’s throw away from other famous bucketlist destinations; the Grand Canyon is just two hours away, Las Vegas just over four hours. In 1932 she was inspired to build such a church by the construction of the Empire State Building. Staude initially attempted to do this in Budapest, Hungary with the help of Lloyd Wright, son of architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
