M97HE-AH INTEGRATED CARTRIDGE W I T H ADJUSTABLE OVERHANG The Model M97HE-AH is an integrated cartridge and headshell with a universal SME-type bayonet headshell connector for instant attachment to many of the world's finest tone arms and turntables. IMPORTANT: Place the Dynamic Stabilizer i n the "guard" position during stylus removal and replacement. Exercise care so your fingers don't slip and damage the stylus t l p or shank. Protect the stylus with the D y n a m ~ cStabilizer i n the "guard" posltlon before attaching the integrated headshell to the tone arm. Use the subst~tute stylus when setting overhang.

Setting overhang With the substitute stylus inserted i n the cartridge body, use the supplied hexagon wrench t o loosen the screw on t o p o f the integrated headshell. Use your tone arm o r turntable overhang gauge (or, i f you l a c k one, the gauge supplied with the M97HE-AH) to set the stylus overhang to the required distance. Tighten the screw and check that the overhang i s correct. Replace the substitute stylus w ~ t hthe playing stylus. S e t t i n g t r a c k i n g force WITH THE DYNAMIC STABILIZER OPERATING The M97HE-AH i s designed for a stylus t i p tracking force of 0.75 t o 1.5 grams. When the VISCOUS-dampedD y n a m ~ c S t a b i l ~ z e r i s i n the operating posltlon (see F ~ g u r e8), ~t exerts a force on the record of 0.5 grams that must also be accommodated i n the total tone arm tracklng force settlng. Therefore, use the following settings. WITH THE DYNAMIC STABILIZER UP If, f o r ?jly reason, the cartridge IS used with the Dynamic Stabilizer In the uo" ~ o s i t i o n .the trackina force should be set as recommended for the tip, i.e., from 0.75 t o 1.5 grams. NOTE: Do not exceed the maximum tracklng force of 2.0 grams when the cartridge is used with the Dynamic Stabilizer "operating", or 1.5 grams when used wlth the Stabilizer "up". Setting antiskating force Set the antlskate mechanism according to the tone arm manufacturer's directions. Use an antlskatlng-force corresponding to the total tone arm tracklng force setting (column 2 i n chart above). Operation Before playlng the first record. carefully place the Dynamic Stabillzer In the "operating" p o s i t ~ o nso that ~t floats below the cartridge. The M97HE-AH is now ready to use. For manual play, the white cue strlpe (see F ~ g u r e10) on the Dynamic Stablllzer assists i n accurate set-down by showlng the stylus t ~ p o s ~ t i o n .

CLEANING For best performance, clean the fibers of the Dynamic Stabilizer and the stylus tip regularly. Cleaning t h e Dynamic Stabilizer Use the supplied brush. U s e n o f l u i d s . Carefully clean the dust out of the ftbers using a back to front movement. Brush the fibers long enough to remove the fine particles between the fibers as well as any mat of lint on the surface. Take care not to catch the stylus shank or t i p when cleaning the Dynamic Stabilizer brush. Pour o b t e n ~ r les meilleurs resultats, i l faut nettoyer regulierement la pointe de lecture et les fibres du stabilisateur dynamique. NETTOYAGE DU STABILISATEUR D Y N A M I Q U E Utiliser la brosse jointe sans employer de liquide. Depoussierer les fibres en deplasant la brosse avec precaution de I'arriere vers I'avant. Brosser suffisamment longternps pour enlever les fines particules q u ~sont entre les fibres et les petits bouts de fil qui peuvent se trouver a leur surface. Faire attention de ne pas toucher l a tige ou l a pointe de lecture lorsque I'on nettoie l a brosse du stabilisateur dynamique. N E T T O Y A G E D E LA P O I N T E D E LECTURE Utiliser la brosse fournie avec l a cellule. I I faut toujors brosser la pointe de I'arriere vers I'avant jamais de I'avant vers I'arriere ou d'un cBte a I'autre. Comme probuit de nettoyage, on peut utiliser de I'alcool ou une solution d'alcool et d'eau distillee. Les produits de nettoyage du commerce peuvent endornmager ou corroder la pointe. REMARQUE: apres avoir monte la cellule (ou apres une IongUe periode d'inutilisation) contrbler si des corps etrangers ne se SOnt pas deposes entre l a 'cellule et le stabilisateur dynamique, ce qui 17

Einstellung des Uberhanges

Der Justierungs-Nadeleinschub w i r d i n d e n Tonabnehmerkorper eingeschoben. M i t dem mitgelieferten Imbusschlussel w i r d d i e Schraube oben auf dern integriertem Tonarmkopf gelost. SACAR Y S U S T l T U l R LA AGUJA Importante: La aguja debera sacarse siempre antes de realizar las conexiones o montaje de l a chpsula. El estabilizador dinbmico de l a capsula debe encontrarse para e l l o siempre e n la posicion d e prot e c c i o n (vease figura 1). Prestar atencion a que 10s dedos n o resbalen, daiiando l a punta o e l soporte de l a aguja. I N S T A L A C I ~ NY M A N E J O IMPORTANTE: Al manipular o sustituir l a aguja, sltue e l estabilizador dindmico e n l a posicion "guard". Tenga cuidado de q u e sus dedos n o toquen ni daiien la punta o el soporte de l a aguja. Proteja l a aguja, c o n el estabilizador dinamico en l a posicion "guard", antes de lncorporar el cabezal al brazo. Ernplee la agula de reernplazo al ajustar l a alineacion de l a aguja.

FUERZA DE APOYO Con el estabilizador dinamico en posicion de operacion: La cbpsula estb disefiada para un margen de fuerza de apoyo en la punta de la aguja entre 0,759 y 1 59. Cuando el estabilizador din&mlco armortiguamiento v ~ s c o s ose' encuentre en position de operaClOn, ejercera en el disco una presion de 0 59 la cual se deberb tener en cuenta al ajustar la presibn total be 'apoyo ejercida por e i brazo fonocaDtor. Con el estabilizador dinbmico en posicion superior: Caso de que por alguna razon se hiciese uso de la cbpsula con el estabilizador dinamico en la posicion superior la p r e s ~ o nde apoyo debe coincidir con el valor indicado en la c'olumna izqu~erda es declr que debera estar entre 0,759 y 1 59. OBSERVACIoN: El valor rnbximo de ambas columnas no se debera sobrepasar bajo ningun concept0 en la poslclon de operacion o en la posicion superior del estab~lizadordinamico. 24

COMPENSACIoN DE EMPUJE LATERAL (ANTISKATING) El mecanismo de cornpensacion de empuje lateral se ajustare de acuerdo a las instrucciones del fabricante del brazo fonocaptor. En todo caso se hara uso de la fuerza de compensacion del empuje lateral que concuerde con la presion total de apoyo del brazo fonocaptor (colmuna a r r ~ b aa la derecha). FlfFR7A flF

Funcionamiento Antes de tocar el primer disco llevar el estabilizador dinbmico cuidadosamente a su posicibn d$ funcionamiento de mod0 que este flotando debajo de la cbpsula. La capsula se halla ahora dispuesta para funcionamiento. Al tocar a mano la franja blanca del estabilizador d i n b m ~ c oservira de ayuda para'posar con exactitud la aguja, por cuanto sirve para sehalizar l a posicion de l a misma. OBSERVACloN: Para mas instrucciones vease el parrafo limpieza.

LlMPlEZA Para obtener resultados optimos es necesario que la punta de l a aquia y las fibras del estabil~zador dinbmico Sean limpiadas reguLlMPlEZA DEL ESTABILIZADOR DINAMICO Hacer uso del pincel adjunto sin ninguna clase de liquido. Eliminar con culdada el polvo de las fibras mediante un mov~mientod e atrbs hacia adelante. Proseguir con esta limpieza por tlempo ~ u f l c l e n t ea fin de ellminar tamblen las particulas pequeiias entre las fibras asi como tambien eventuales depositos de pelusas en l a superficie. Al limpiar el cepillo del estab~lizadordinbmico, prestar atencion a que no se toque tambien el soporte o l a punta de la agula.

LlMPlEZA DE L A PUNTA DE LA AGUJA Hacer uso del pincel suministrado c o m a accesorio. Cepillar l a aguja siernpre de atras h a c ~ aadelante nunca a l a inversa o de costado a costado. Coma agente de llmple'za se puede emplear alcohol o una solucion de alcohol en agua destilada. Los productos de llmpieza usuales e n el cornercio pueden perjudicar o producir corrosion en l a aguja. OBSERVACION: Despues del montaje (o pausa prolongada de operacion) controlar si n o se han depositado cuerpos ajenos entre l a capsula y el estabilizador dinhmico de modo que este ultimo s e h a l l e irnrnovilizado. U n procedimientd de control sencillo se limitarb en desplazar c o n cuidado el estabilizador dinhmico p a r unas cuantas veces de la posicion superior a la posicion de proteccion. Este control garantlza rendlmiento impecable. Revisar tamblen l a punta de l a aguja en cuanto a cuerpos ajenos depositados. En su caso aplicar una lhrnp~ezaa l a punta de l a aguja.
