2 unique events. First was The Diva

Embrace Equity a first of its kind

joint event of Inner Wheel District

313 India and Rotary International

District 3131. Our club made its presence felt with the performance of the Mauli Mauli dance. President Sujata, ZA PP Savita PP Smita, Editor Suvarna Secretary Ranjana, Shweta Dalal, IT Sonali, Varsha Bhoite and the whole team took the audience to Pandhari. The event was applauded by stalwarts and members from both organizations. Second First of its kind event was the Webinar Inner Wheel Budget पे Charcha The Zoom 100 capacity was full and 300 had logged in via You Tube Live Streaming. Our club is doing excellent work under the leadership of President Sujata. She has done so many unique projects with the support of Team Nigdi Pride. Wishing the very best! Day which is a day that not only celebrated the achievements of

women and the progress made towards women's rights, but also

brings attention to ongoing struggles for equality around the

world. In the same way you too could stay in your comfort zone

but you made choice of being a member of social organization

and working selflessly. Dear woman may the Inner fire within

OUR PROJECTS Breast cancer screening test

We did two projects at Kakade Park Chinchwad jointly with Lions club trust of Sahakar

Nagar Pune and Sharda Vidya Prasarak mandal. Our member Madhuri Gurav and Deepali Jadhav helped in organising this camp. 1) First project done was breast cancer screening test. total 151 females were screened for

breast cancer out of that 14 have abnormal report so they were advised to do

mammography test . 2) Second lecture was given by Dr Deepali Deshmukh she is Onco surgeon ( cancer

surgeon) and she explained about the breast cancer and other cancer. It's symptoms,

treatments ,precautions to be taken. As she is attached to Talegaon general hospital so

those who have abnormal screening test they were given coupons to do mammography and

mamosonography discounted rate Breast cancer screening was sponsored by PP Sadhana Kalbhor, Venue and fellowship and

all arrangements were provided by our member Madhuri Gurav. . Very respected personality

in Chinchwad. and because of Deepali Jadhav's insistence resulted in this Camp. and we

are very happy t to see the response and enthusiasm of the beneficiaries. beneficiaries

waited for 2 hours to listen to lecture and they werepresent before the programme started. President Sujata, Dr. Ranjana Kadam , Madhuri Gurav , CC Deepali, PP Smita, PP Sadhna, Amita Patwardhan Editor Suvarna , Varsha Bhoite were present. and Special thanks to Madhuri Guruv for providing such a nice Venue and all the arrangements done.

DONATION OF BHAGWAD GITA

We distributed 70 Bhagwad Gita books at Ashram Shala Malegaon, Maval , a residential school for

tribal students.This project was in synergy with Iskcon. Lecture on values of Gita was given to

students followed by Mahaprasad and they will continue guiding the student in monthly sessions.It

was very well organised by ISKON. We enjoyed 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' and Mahaprasad along

with students. Total Project Cost - Rs 12600/Beneficiaries - 370 students Attended by Pres.Sujata, Ranjana, Arati Jadhav and Apoorva Purandare. Well day spent. Unique

project. Thank you Sonali for suggesting and coordination with ISKON. It was a very good experience at Malegaon Ashramshala with ISKON. समाजसेवेला भक्तीमार्गा ची जोड... Thank you very much All Doners for your generous donation for this project. Thank you Sonali for your initiative & coordination of this project. Students were very happy and enjoyed whole programe. They danced on the tune of Hare Rama

Inauguration of Solar water heater

President Sujata and Secretary Dr. Ranjana attended the COPS Mega

project of Solar Water Heaters inaugurated at the hands of Chief Guest

District Chairman Mukti Panse, COPS founder PAP Smita Pingale, ZC

DCCC PDC Mohini Rathi at Sathesai village, Mulshi. We installed 3 Solar Water Heaters of 500 lit capacity for 3 clusters of

Sathesai village. Total cost of the project is Rs 1, 84,500/Beneficiaries - 300 The beneficiary will also be the *Society at Large* as the Solar Power is

Alternate Clean Renewable Source of Energy that saves Cutting of Trees in

villages for heating water. Even the electrical heaters stress the natural resources like water, coal for

generation of electricity. Wonderful Mega Project! COPS for the first time has invested so much

amount of Rs. 1, 84, 000/- for benefit of society through an eco-friendly project. This also accomplishes UN Goal of Environment Protection and Restoration.

PROJECTS

1. We donated a Double Surface Phototherapy Machine to Dr Ganesh Rakh Medicare Hospital Foundation. It was a Synergy project with IWC Pune Uptown. Total project cost - Rs 45000/By IWC Nigdi Pride- Rs 22500/By IWC Pune Uptown - Rs 22500/Beneficiaries - Society at large. 2.We donated 11 sets of baby sweaters, knitted by PP Rekha and her

friend ( age 90) to the same hospital. Attended by - Pres Sujata, Sec Dr Ranjana, Editor Suvarna, PP Rekha IT Sonali It was a very memorable experience. We witnessed the Welcome

celebration of two baby girls. Very innovative and impactful concept. Flower decoration, balloons, cake cutting was arranged by Dr Rakh.

And the hospital arranges it at the birth of every baby girl. स्त्री जन्माचा सोहळा...🙏

GBM

Our 8th GBM was held on 18th March at Smita IIawe'sresidence.As this Women's Day celebration month everyone wore pink colour dress.PP Smita IIawe hosted meeting with fellowship. GBM was too good. Nicely conducted by Pres. Sec jodi 🌹🌹 Fellowship by PP Smita was testy and delicious. Good project planning. Good attendance. Women's day celebrated with very interesting game by Pres. Sujata. Good team work and support from EC members

WORKWONDERS - TULSI GOWDA

President Ram Nath Kovind presented Padma awards to 119 eminent personalities at a ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan. Among the list of awardees was also a 72-year-old environmentalist, Tulsi Gowda. She was one of the 61 people who received the Padma Shri award from the President of India. Gowda, who is from Honnali village in Karnataka, had planted more than 30,000 saplings. Gowda received the Padma Shri award in the Rashtrapati Bhavan barefoot. In the videos and pictures which have surfaced online. Gowda can be seen walking barefoot in the Durbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan stopped briefly to greet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, before going to receive the award from the President. Gowda belongs to Halakki Tribal in Karnataka and is also known as the “Encyclopedia of Forest" due to her vast knowledge of diverse species of plants and herbs. She was born to a poor family and lost her father when she was only 2-year-old. As a young child, she started working with her mother at a local nursery. Gowda never went to a school and was married when she was not even in her teens.Gowda has actively contributed to protecting the environment and has planted thousands of trees. She joined the forest department as a temporary volunteer, where she was recognised for her dedication to nature preservation. She was later offered a permanent job in the department. She retired after 15 more years at the age of 70.

GUDIPADWA

गुढीपाडवा हा महाराष्ट्राचा महत्त्वाचा सण आहे. शिवाय या दिवसापासून मराठी नवीन वर्षाला सुरूवात होते. सहाजिकच या नवीन वर्षाचे स्वागत पारंपरिक वेशभूषेने के ले जाते. महिला गुढीपाडव्याच्या दिवशी वेगवेगळ्या प्रकारचे साडी लूक्स परिधान के लेल्या दिसतात. . महिला या दिवशी खास नऊवारी साडी, नथ, ठु शी असे पारंपरिक दागदागिने घालतात तर पुरुषमंडळी धोती, सलवार, कु र्ता असा पारंपरिक पेहराव करतात.गुढीपाडवा साजरा करण्यामागे अनेक पौराणिक कथा (गुढीपाडवा इतिहास) सांगितल्या जातात. असं म्हणतात की, महाभारताच्या आदिपर्वात उपरिचर राजाने इंद्राने त्याला दिलेली कळकाची काठी जमिनीत रोवली आणि नवीन वर्षाच्या सुरूवाताला तिची पुजा के ली. या परंपरेचा आदर राखण्यासाठी गुढी पुजन के ले जाऊ लागले. इतिहासात या दिवशी ब्रम्हदेवाने विश्व निर्मिती के ली असं वेदात म्हटल्याचा उल्लेख आहे. पौराणिक कथेनुसार श्रीराम वनवासातून पुन्हा अयोध्येला परत आले म्हणून गुढीपाडवा साजरा के ला जातो. म्हणूनच यशाची गुढी उभारून हा दिवस साजरा के ला जातो. गुढीपाडवा का साजरा करतात यामागे अनेक कथा सांगितल्या जातात. एका कथेनुसार पार्वती आणि शंकराचे लग्न पाडव्याला ठरलं आणि तृतीयेला झालं होतं. म्हणूनच या दिवशी आदिशक्ती पार्वतीची पुजा के ली जाते. गुढीपाडवा हा सण साजरा करण्यामागे पौराणिक कथेत अनेक संदर्भ सापडत असले तरी आजही हा सण तितक्याच उत्साहात साजरा के ला जातो. आजच्या आधूनिक युगातही या सणाला ऐतिहासिक सांस्कृ तिक आणि नैसर्गिकदृष्ट्या विशेष महत्त्व आहे. म्हणूनच पुढच्या पिढीसाठी गुडी पाडवा महत्व जाणून घेणं फार गरजेचं आहे. वास्तविक प्रत्येक सण साजरा करण्यामागे पुर्वजांचे काही उद्देश असतात.

चैत्र महिन्यापासून वसंत ऋतूच्या आगमनाला सुरूवात होते. त्यामुळे वातावरणात बदल झालेले असतात. जुनी सुकलेली पानं गळून झाडांना नवी पालवी फु टते, आंब्याला मोहोर येतो याचं प्रतिक म्हणून गुढीला आंब्याची डहाळी बांधली जातात. पूर्वीपासून या नैसर्गिक बदलाचे स्वागत करण्याची पद्धत असावी. नवीन वर्षाच्या स्वागतामध्ये काही गोष्टी महत्त्वाच्या आहेत. वातावरणात वाढलेल्या उन्हाची काहिली कमी करण्यासाठी गुढीमध्ये कडूलिंबाची पाने लावली जातो. प्राचीन काळापासून चैत्र शुद्ध प्रतिपदेला ओवा, मीठ, हिंग, मिरी आणि साखर हे कडुनिंबाच्या पानांबरोबर वाटून खातात. यामुळे पचनक्रिया सुधारणं, पित्ताचा नाश करणं, त्वचारोग बरं करणं, धान्यातील किड थांबवणं हे सर्व यामुळे शक्य होतं. कडुनिंबामध्ये अनेक गुण असल्यामुळे आयुर्वेदातही याला खूप महत्त्व आहे. शरीराला थंडावा देणारी कडुनिंबाची पानं आंघोळीच्या पाण्यात घालून आंघोळही के ली जाते. ती वाटून खाल्ल्यामुळे आरोग्याला चांगला लाभ होतो. गुढीपाडव्याचा सण साजरा करण्यासाठी के ल्या जाणाऱ्या या अशा अनेक गोष्टींना विशेष महत्त्व असतं. मात्र त्यासाठी प्रत्येकाला गुढीपाडवा माहिती माहीत असायला हव | गुढीपाडव्याच्या दिवशी घरोघरी गुढी उभारली जाते | काही जणांना विशेषतः नव्या पिढीला गुढी कशी उभारावी माहिती (Gudhi Kashi Ubharavi) कमी असलेली दिसून येते. नववर्षाचे स्वागत करण्यासाठी घरोघरी गुढी उभारण्याचा कार्यक्रम के ला जातो. यासाठी घरातील सर्वजण लवकर उठू न गुढी उभारण्याची तयारी करतात. एक उंच बांबूच्या काठीला धुवून स्वच्छ के ले जाते. त्याला रेशमी साडी अथवा वस्त्र नेसवून त्यावर चांदीचा अथवा तांब्याचा तांब्या, कडूलिंब, आंब्याची पाने, साखरेची माळ, फु लांचा हार बांधून तिला सजवले जाते. घराच्या दारात अथवा खिडकीत गुढी उभारण्यात येते. गुढी हे स्नेहाचे, मांगल्याचे, उत्साहाचे आणि आनंदाचे प्रतिक मानले जाते. ज्यामधून विजयपताका उभाल्याचा आनंद व्यक्त होत असतो. घराबाहेर रांगोळी काढली जाते. जय श्रीराम क्षणं प्रतिक्षणं यन्नवं नवम्। तच्च सुन्दरं सच्च तच्छिवम्। वर्षनूतनं ते शुभं मुदम्। उत्तरोत्तरं भवतु सिद्धिदम्॥ हे शोभन नाम नूतन वर्ष सगळ्यांना अधिकाधिक सुख,समाधान ,समृद्धि ,आनंद आणि

यश देणारे ठरो. आपल्या सगळ्यांनाच हे नववर्ष सत्यं शिवं सुंदरम् असे सत्याने, मांगल्याने व सुंदरतेने

भरलेले जावो हीच त्या जगन्नियंत्याचरणी अंतःकरणपूर्वक प्रार्थना करून या शोभन नाम

संवत्सराचे आपण सगळे आनंदाने स्वागत करू या. ॥जय जय रघुवीर समर्थ
