GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: Craig Howard reported Greens: Greens continue to be really good and now that the wind has passed, we are back in target green speed range of 10’3” to 10’6” every day. During wind event speeds got up around 11’ and that’s when pin placements become difficult. We were able to needle tine the greens the last week of January and are looking to slice them after men’s president cup. Traffic and compaction: With rounds climbing over 300 rounds per day we have seen traffic areas taking a beating. We started fertilizing and using pigments last week but with tournament schedule and frost we are hoping to finish tomorrow. Usually start trying to do some deep solid tine aerification but new aerifier will not arrive till May and old one is still needing repair. Hoping this month to get it operational and punch some holes. Bunker Project: We have completed 18 of the 27 holes with only south left for loosening greenside bunker floors. Next Monday we will do the south greenside bunkers. Irrigation: With 3 main line breaks in a month, including today when a 10” line failed on 2 south, staff has been busy. Talk about 8 north and 2 south. Cost 2 south $2200 in parts.

BOARD LIASION REPORT: Dottie Gough reported that she currently has no report as the Board is meeting after this Golf Committee meeting. I will have more to report next meeting. GENERAL MANAGERS REPORT: Ron Phipps reported that we have had more activations. We are starting to see folks activating at the 2o,000 initiation fee. The club is busy, and we are experiencing the coldest January in years. Pools and spas are a hot topic. California announced a decrease in prices, but it is not back to where we were. From a budgeting process if the Golf Committee has any requests, we would like to get those submitted in the next 30 days. February is the time to deliberate for the 2023-2024 season. Bernie Lyons asked about simulators when the course closes. Ron Phipps replied, yes, it is on the Boards per view. There was a discussion on simulators. DIRECTOR OF GOLF’S REPORT: Mike reported The Niners Member Member has 21 teams next week in their eclectic. The LLGA Member Member has 67 teams. There are 316 players today. Tee times now start at 7:00a.m. and the range is open until 4:00p.m. The Invitational info has been finalized. The Match will take place March 12th and Michael Block will be attending. Dan Kras, Kathy Hanson and John McCarthy will be playing this year. The Pro Challenges are complete.

AREA ASSIGNMENTS: A. Ernie Wallerstein – We are well into our tournament season. Everybody is happy. We have a struggle with costs and food and beverage. We are looking to fill 2 positions on the board. B. Marlene Langdon LLGA – reported that Kim Zink won President’s cup. We are getting ready for Member Member and Club Championship. WE have 2 new board members coming on. The ladies are looking to have events later like the men. C. Cathy King Niners – Absent.
