ABOUT THE INDIANAPOLIS ZOO As an integral part of the Indianapolis and global conservation community, the Indianapolis Zoo dedicates itself to protecting nature and inspiring people to care for our world. The Zoo is a destination where people can gather to experience nature, make lasting memories and be inspired. Partnering with the Zoo allows companies to not only support the mission of the Zoo, but to distinguish themselves as a community leader and a conservation partner.

The Indianapolis Zoo, a beloved community destination since 1964, is a conservation organization with a laser focus on advancing the sustainability of wildlife worldwide. Providing economic value to Indiana, the Zoo is the most visited attraction in downtown Indianapolis, with 1.1 million visitors in 2022 it exceeds that of the Pacers and Colts combined. Our Zoo is the first in the nation to receive triple accreditation as a zoo, an aquarium and a botanical garden. The Zoo is accredited by both the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the American Alliance of Museums. The Indianapolis Zoo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a board of trustees. The 220 fulltime employees are good stewards of the operating budget of $36 million. The staff provides the highest quality care for the 230 species and approximately 1,400 animals, and the horticulture team nurtures 47,000 plants and more than 2,800 species of flora.
