CRITICAL MULTIMODAL PROJECT BEING EXECUTED WITH FINESSE BY MFC TRANSPORT UREA REACTOR (HURL) - HINDUSTAN URVARAK & RASAYAN LIMITED – PART 1 In these highly uncertain times, MFC Transport, is proud to be engaged in the transportation of Urea reactor for TechnipFMC to be delivered at Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) – Sindri/Barauni. The project was of national importance and very much essential to achieve self-sufficiency in fertilizer manufacturing as a part of Make in India program. Timely availability of the Urea Reactor was critical to ensure that the Project of National Importance is commissioned on time. Cargo Specification - L&T Hazira

Urea Reactor - Sindri

45225 mm ( L ) x 4742 mm ( W ) x 4395 mm ( H ) – 387 Tons

Cargo Specification – L&T Hazira

Urea Reactor - Barauni

45225 mm ( L ) x 4742 mm ( W ) x 4395 mm ( H ) – 387 Tons

 Movement Details:- Part 1 of Multimodal Movement was executed from L&T Hazira to Sindri and Barauni Site – 2 no’s ODC Cargo    

Urea Reactor was transported from West coast Hazira to Hazira port by road on SPMT. From Hazira port the Urea reactor was loaded on to a Vessel and then sailed to Kolkata port. At Kolkata port the Urea Reactor from Vessel was moved on to a river barge and moved to Kolaghat Jetty and Semeria Jetty. At Kolghat Jetty the Urea reactor was Rolled off on to hydraulic axles and then using bolster arrangements moved by road to complete the last length of the journey to reach site due to the challenging route from Kolghat Jetty to Sindri Site. The last 380 km was executed by surface transportation which was the most challenging phase in the entire process of expediting the project especially the last turn towards site, which was the most challenging turn due to the road condition and surrounding infrastructure. At Semeria jetty the Urea reactor was rolled off on to SPMT and delivered to Barauni site. Jetty construction, approach road at both Kolaghat Jetty and Semeria Jetty was again a key aspect for Roll off activities to be executed on time in order to ensure that the reactors are delivered to site on time, wherein many challenges were faced due to lockdown, but facing all the challenges we executed the same.

 The major challenge faced while executing this shipment were:   

The sudden announcement of lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic which led to disruption. This needed meticulous coordination and planning to ensure that road transport and vessel movement to Kolkata are done on time as the equipment was to be delivered at project site before water level recedes in River Ganga due to peak Summer and before Monsoon starts. Another crucial challenge faced was continuous bad weather conditions in Kolkata. Shifting the Urea Reactor from Vessel to Barge, it was very important to have a accurate lifting plan and seamless coordination based on the weather conditions to ensure the Urea Reactor was shifted safely. Another challenge faced was Cyclone Amphaan hitting Kolkata and we had to ensure that the Urea Reactor loaded on the barge was positioned and parked safe to face the cyclone and ensuring all additional lashing as required for the safety of the cargo. With detailed route surveys, swept path analysis, accurate lifting plan and seamless coordination our team managed to overcome all the challenges and the Urea Reactor is now delivered safely to site. 2021, © MFC TRANSPORT PVT LTD Proprietary And Confidential

CRITICAL MULTIMODAL PROJECT BEING EXECUTED WITH FINESSE BY MFC TRANSPORT (HURL) - HINDUSTAN URVARAK & RASAYAN LIMITED – PART 2/PART 3  Movement Details:- Part 2 of Multimodal Movement was executed from Dahej, Murbad, Vikhroli to Sindri and Barauni Site – 6 no’s ODC Cargo • • • • • • • •

2nd Vacuum Separator (2 no’s) from MMY Dahej was transported by Hydraulic axle to Hazira port by road as per the Vessel Laycan. Post the vessel was loaded, the vessel sailed to Mumbai port to receive the 4 no’s ODC cargo – 2 no’s from Fabtech, Murbad and 2 no’s from Godrej Vikhroli. Ammonia Receiver (2 no’s) from Fabtech Murbad was transported by Hydraulic axle to Mumbai port by road as per the Vessel Laycan. Carbonate solution accumulator (2 no’s) from Godrej Vikhroli was transported by Hydraulic axle to Godrej jetty, necessary civil work was carried out at Godrej jetty for roll off operations of the cargo, suitable barge and tugs were arranged and the barge docked at Godrej Jetty and the 2 no’s Carbonate solution accumulator were rolled on to the barge and further movement was executed to Mumbai port and meet the vessel Laycan. All the above 6 no’s ODC cargo were loaded on the Vessel at Mumbai port and then the Vessel sailed to Kolkata port. At Kolkata port the 6 no’s ODC cargo from Vessel was moved on to 2 no’s of river barge and moved to Sahibgang Jetty (3 no’s for Sindri) and Khagaria Jetty (3 no’s for Barauni). At Sahibgang Jetty the 3 no’s ODC cargo was Rolled off on to hydraulic axles and then moved by road to complete the last length of the journey to reach HURL Sindri site. At Khagaria Jetty the 3 no’s ODC cargo was Rolled off on to hydraulic axles and then moved by road to complete the last length of the journey to reach HURL Barauni site. Jetty construction, approach road at both Sahibgang Jetty and Khagaria Jetty was again a key aspect for Roll activities to be executed on time in order to ensure that the 6 no’s ODC are delivered to site on time, wherein many challenges were faced, but facing all the challenges we executed the same.

 The major challenge faced while executing this shipment were:• Deployment of MFC self owned assets, manpower, crew, supervisors, escort team in such large volume to ensure that all the 6 no’s ODC cargo was picked up from their respective pick up points on time and delivered to designated port as per the Vessel Laycan. This deployment planning of assets and manpower was required at the pick up location as well as when the cargo to be received at the respective jetty which needed meticulous pre-planning, coordination between the entire team with complete involvement from top management team to operations team to supervisor and the crew on job. • MFC executed the movement following a process map for smooth execution all throughout the movement as although the effect of the Lockdown had reduced, but still getting all necessary permissions from different government bodies was challenging, manpower as required for jetty construction, civil work etc. was a challenge due to mobility issues of crew between states etc. • Ensuring the timely placement of the barge and tugs at destination port to receive the 6 no’s ODC cargo • Sudden announcement by IWAI for suspension for Barge movement operations at Farakka (Ch 544.0 km) due to dislocation of pin of downstream Mitre gate of Navigational Lock. This was a very big challenge as due to this scenario our further planning for movement was effected, civil work and jetty construction at the respective receiving jetty had already commenced, but now as the barge movement could not take place the we had to implement different plans. There was no specific time line when the barge operations will again be functional and there was rigorous follow up from our end with top officials of IWAI authorities as delivery of the cargo to the respective site locations on time was very critical.

It almost took 45 days for the navigational lock to be functional, and finally the barge movement commenced to the respective jetty for the roll off operations. Since the time period to deliver the 6 no’s ODC cargo was effected, we had to implement and execute different and varied plans to ensure that the jetty, approach road, by-passes, statutory permission, railway permissions, enroute civil work, dismantling of different toll’s are all simultaneously executed so roll off operations could be done as soon as cargo reach the respective jetty and road transport movement is executed to respective site to ensure timely and safe delivery of the cargo. With detailed route surveys, swept path analysis, accurate lifting plan and seamless coordination our team managed to overcome all the challenges and the 6 no’s ODC cargo is now delivered safely to site.

PROJECT BEING EXECUTED BY MFC TRANSPORT – IOCL HALDIA

MFC was given a challenge to transport 2 equipment's with dimension 12m x 6m dia and weighing 90 tons each from west coast (Mumbai) to east Coast (Haldia- IOCL Refinery ). Customer wanted the equipment to be delivered within 90 days and MFC safely & successfully delivered it in 62 days. Transporting the packages with 6m dia by road in itself is a challenge keeping in mind the vagaries and conditions of the Indian roads coupled with enroute high profile events (Kumbhmela2019 ) scheduled during the tenure of this movement. Meticulous planning and deployment of senior resources keeping in mind the urgency of the requirement at the site assisted us to deliver the packages in time and safely.

Client – Petrofac ONE OF A KIND PROJECT EXECUTED BY MFC TRANSPORT FOR BPCL KOCHI REFINERY!!!!

 BPCL Kochi Project o Multimodal Movement  The main challenge of the contract was in the execution of the Multi Modal Movement of 11 pieces in a single lot from Murbad to Belapur Jetty , on a single barge were transported to Ernakulum Jetty & again by road to BPCL. These consignments had a dimension of – • • •

Length 22m Width 4.7m Height 4.9m Weight 73 tons Qty 3 Length 17m Width 5.8m Height 5.8m Weight 78 tons Qty 4 Length 16m Width 5.7m Height 5.7m Weight 80 tons Qty 4

• All the 11 consignments moved in a single lot from Murbad to Belapur Jetty and on a single barge were transported to Ernakulum Jetty & again by road to BPCL • To execute this movement it required not only a high level of technical dominion knowledge but a very high level of management skill to co-ordinate the entire manpower of 100 operation crew, dealing with local Police, Civil authorities, Electric department and Local Influencers & Strongmen. This movement also proved that MFC had the capability of scaling the operation at multiple locations, mobilizing the equipment and the financial resources to execute this movement • The Operation team showed an exceptional level of commitment. • Another aspect that had a significant challenge was the movement of Semi Modular Assemblies from Trichy. There were 8 pieces having a Width of 6.7m and a Height of 5 m. The Toll Plazas enroutes required dismantling of the sensor cameras and side barriers. At certain toll plazas bypasses had to be created. • The major impediment was Kochi city and this movement was made more difficult by the Metro construction and infrastructure projects. However the Operation Team using it’s dominion knowledge with a detailed route mapping was successful in delivering all the consignments without any incident.

To execute the project MFC had to mobilize specialized equipment like Drop Deck/Well Bed Trailers, Self Propelled Modular Transporter, Hydraulic Axles etc. The shipments had to be transported from various locations and deliver at EPCC-6 HPCL, Vizag project site. The shipments included almost 110 no’s of ODC Shipments and nearly 2000 no’s trailers to move the general cargo to Vizag project site. A critical part of the project was managing the internal site movement and material handling at HPCL project site, HPCL refinery being a high security area and fire hazard area a lot of preplanning and coordination between multiple parties were essential to complete the operations successfully. To ensure this MFC deployed SPMT to move the various ODC shipments inside the site to ensure the timely delivery of shipment so HPCL could do the commissioning on time. MFC ensured that project is executed on time and proud to be part of the brownfield expansion of the Vizag refinery modernization project.

Client – Techno Process Project - Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd. Mangalore (MRPL) Techno Process after following a stringent technical & commercial process awarded the logistics contract to MFC Transport to transport 14 ODC pieces from their works at Bharuch to Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd. Mangalore (MRPL) . MFC’s business relationship with Techno Process dates back two decades and at the time of submitting the Proposal MFC based on the RFQ had conducted a preliminary route survey and a technical feasibility on the options of transporting the consignments. After receiving the Work Order MFC conducted a detailed technical feasibility study & route survey to determine the modus operandi of transporting of the packages. In transporting the ODC packages having a dimension of Length 32m Width 5m Height 4m . The challenge of transporting such consignments increase tremendously due to the geographical location of MRPL . The road transportation has to negotiate the sharp turns of the Western Ghats and due to tress and thick foliage it is a precarious task transporting ODC cargo. These level of difficulties were further compounded as this was a brown field project and the un-loading site required all the vehicles to travel through a functioning refinery were it was not possible to remove any obstacles or carry out any civil works. Moreover MFC adhered to the Safety & Hygiene Norms of the refinery and all equipment used was certified as per statutory rules MFC approached the project by segregating the cargo in the following categories  Cargo that could be transported by road  Cargo that could be transported by road using special equipment like Low Profile Drop Deck Trailers & material handling equipment like heavy duty cranes  Cargo that would have to be transported by multi modal After this segregation of the cargo on mode of transportation MFC planned the vehicle deployment, barge and equipment deployment. A systematic study was conducted and a detailed report was submitted on the stability calculations of the Hydraulic Axle Trailers & Barge. The lashing calculations were worked upon and taking into consideration the weather conditions the multi modal movement was planned. The entire movement entailed coordination & procuring statutory permissions from multiple agencies at multiple locations. The entire movement of 14 consignments were synchronized in such a way that each cargo piece was delivered as per requirement of MRPL. The entire operation was planned & executed in a professional manner which ensured that the Project was completed in the agreed time line & cost.

Client - Godrej

Godrej had manufactured a Vacuum Desecrator in its Mumbai Vikhroli Production Plant for one of its’ prestigious client & was destined for final voyage to Abu Dhabi via Mumbai Port. Vacuum Desecrator being 27252 x 5255 x 5825 mm in dimension & weighing around 84 Tons, was not feasible to move via road to Mumbai Port & had to be moved via Multi Modal Transport. MFC was preferred over other competitors for this job based on its long term experience in Multi-Modal transport & Project Forwarding. Planning for the subject awarded move was initiated & Godrej jetty was finalized as terminal point for further dispatch towards Mumbai Port. Technical & Operation Team were geared up & route survey team were put on action & sent ahead to check for any hick up’s or bottlenecks from Godrej Plant to Jetty. Technical team were studying the drawing to plan for Hydraulic Axle & Volvo Puller which will be required for the said task. Major Prerequisite were taken into consideration & all required permissions were taken from Govt. authorities & finally having done all the due diligence, we were all ready to hit the road. With a sudden change in climatic condition, accompanied with heavy monsoon & wind, it was nearly impossible to proceed with plans we had & were further pushed to wait for favorable condition to proceed. Keeping in mind of the tough weather condition on one hand & Laycan of vessel awaiting at Mumbai Port on other, a suitable Barge & Tug was leased for. Barge was then docked at Godrej Jetty & Volvo Puller with 16 Axle Line was arranged at Godrej Plant for loading. Finally, after all the due diligence & study, arrived the big day. Movement was initiated from Godrej plant on 10th Jun 2018 where Vacuum Desecrator was loaded on Axle’s & further dispatched towards jetty. All the necessary arrangements including ramps, steel plates & sand bags were kept ready to make sure roll on activity on barge would take place easily, ruling out any possibility of jeopardizing time & risk to assets & personnel. Total of 8 stools with height of 1.2 meters were arranged & made sure, package is properly sealed & secured thereafter which package was further dispatched to Mumbai Port where it was further loaded on vessel “Industrial Challenger” for its final voyage to Abu Dhabi.
